Nothing beats it, right?

I do normally feel a bit crappy when I wake up, but it's worth it Grin

It’s the best feeling ever!

I had a two hour nap this afternoon, one of my favourite things to do when my kids are at their dads!

Thorilicious · 09/04/2022 19:21

@SophieSoSo 2 hours? Nice!

I think I’m going to regret that tonight, but I slept so badly last night I couldn’t help it.

And yes I felt like shit when I woke up but the falling asleep feeling was worth it Grin

AlisonDonut · 09/04/2022 19:26

Yes i cant wait for the warmer weather so o am garden early and then have a snoozy siesta. It's basically why we moved to France.

cushioncovers · 09/04/2022 19:32

Windows open on a warm summers day, drifting off to sleep. One of life's greatest pleasures.

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 09/04/2022 19:34

Aah I love a granny nap, I'm a recent convert.

ElenaSt · 09/04/2022 19:35

I have a nap every day and I feel wonderful when I wake up!

I'm off on my first trip in three weeks to a place and in accommodation I've stayed inbefore, it's literally feet away from the sea. Falling asleep in the afternoon to the swish of the slight tide is hypnotic. After lunch I know if I sit down, I'll fall asleep. It's the best

Another nap lover here. One of life’s greatest pleasures. Sadly never get to indulge now. Should never have had kids….Grin

pictish · 09/04/2022 19:43

Indeed. I went this afternoon having been out for a good run in the morning and done a food shop too. I put on my new double cotton kimono robe, crawled into bed and listened to the hum of the household below while I drifted away into the quiet and warm.
Woke up feeling like I was on Mogadon but have recovered now. Two hours…must have needed it.

Thorilicious · 09/04/2022 20:05

I think I prefer a nap to a lie in now Grin

I definitely prefer a nap to a lie in. I’m at my best in the morning.

CutesyUserName · 09/04/2022 20:10

One of my favourite things! Lying there snuggly and reading till I've read the same paragraph about 20 times or drop the Kindle on my nose, then eye mask on and drift away. I never feel crap after either, just rejuvenated and ready to face the rest of the day. I do get that it's a privilege to have the time and space be able to do this and I'm very grateful for it.

MaryAndHerNet · 09/04/2022 20:12

I'm glad I'm not the only dozer of MN.

If always been a bit dozy, but now I'm t'other side of 40, it seems my dozy dozes are longer snoozery snoozes.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 09/04/2022 20:20

I fucking LOVE naps.

When DH and I started going out and we both realised we loved sleeping/naps, that was it. Locked in.

Young DC are now constantly nap-blocking us, but when my parents offer to take them for a Saturday afternoon DH and I are always in agreement that we use the time for an uninterrupted day-time snooze.

Sunnytwobridges · 09/04/2022 20:35

It’s the best feeling ever!

userxx · 09/04/2022 20:39

Don't understand nana naps, if I close my eyes for 2 minutes I'm awake all night. Jealous that people can do it.

DukeofEarlGrey · 09/04/2022 20:41

I love an afternoon nap. Why do people feel bad when they wake up? I normally feel great after a nap - that's why you have them isn't it?

DukeofEarlGrey · 09/04/2022 20:41

nap-blocking Grin worst thing ever

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 09/04/2022 20:45

DP has always been a napper, an hour after work and one in the afternoons at weekend, and could then sleep like a baby all night.
If I had a daytime nap, I woke up feeling groggy and worse than I did before the nap, and couldn't sleep at night.
Now I've reached the grand age of 42 I can snooze with the best of them 🐈

Butfirstcoffees · 09/04/2022 20:50

I have nana naps whenever I can. My kids are older so usually, where possible both weekend days involve one.

Ds goes to his dad on Sunday afternoon. That's my favourite nap, in a quiet house. I get in bed with a cup of tea, watch some TV and drift off.

I usually wake up wondering what day it is, not knowing if I have woke up from a nighttime sleep or a nap. Sometimes not knowing where I am.

But I love it. I dont sleep well at night. Usually up from around 3 to 4am.

On days I wfh, I have an hour lunch. Skip eating & jump in bed. And have 30 mins.

I used to work in an office that had a nap room. I used to use it alot. Grin

If I can't fit in my Sunday afternoon nap, I go to bed at 7pm instead.

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 09/04/2022 20:50

Found my people, fucking love a day time nap. I have many different nap scenarios dependent on my mood, I'm rather enamoured with a car nap, especially when it's sunny outside, love a sofa nap whilst my DD is watching a film, a nap in my hammock in the sunshine, a nap on the beach and for a proper 20 min disco nap got to be in bed but with something playing lightly in the background so I don't get too deep into sleep so wake rejuvenated. I love that slight dribble feel....

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 09/04/2022 20:52

Oooh my favourite (which was primarily pre DC) the post afternoon delight afternoon nap!!! 😁

peachgreen · 09/04/2022 20:54

I have VERY specific nap requirements in order to make it a good refreshing one rather than waking up feeling worse. It has to be on the sofa (not in bed), with a thin blanket and a cushion over my ear rather than my usual earplugs, muffling rather than blocking out the sound of the household. Absolute bliss. Getting a good napping surface was one of my primary considerations when choosing a sofa!

grafittiartist · 09/04/2022 20:56

I am jealous of you all. I can't nap. It makes me feel dreadful.
Enjoy them!
