If you've not got a Smart Meter.

And are on the Price Cap rate - as rates go up on 1st April and you want to ensure that your supplier knows how much of your energy was used before and after the price cap changes.

I am sure it will be trending on Twitter tomorrow. #meterreadingday

I have a Smart Meter so don't think i need to do it.

Also just a thought, but as it’s been so mild people probably haven’t used much gas this month so far. So, if you are like me and did a reading a couple of weeks ago you may be better off not giving one until you are next due in a couple of weeks. I’m assuming they spread the cost by calculating an average number of kWh used per day. So you could get more of the gas you use now it’s getting colder charged at the cheaper rate before tomorrow calculated on a daily average use.

I've managed to get mine through in EDF website, I refreshed a couple of times and it eventually worked

Not sure if this is the same for all suppliers but whenever I give my meter reading to Eon I can say what date the reading was taken so I'm not too concerned if I can't get on website today.
I've taken photos of my readings and can log it tomorrow showing as reading taken on 31/3/22.

Have managed to input mine with EDF but both app and website are glitchy as Hell, and I've yet to receive an email confirmation. Have pictures of readings, screenshot of readings input, and just have to hope for the best.

For anyone who is having problems submitting readings, take a photo of your readings and then email them to yourself so you have proof of date and time and the submit whenever you're able.

I bet some of the energy companies are a bit pissed off with Martin Lewis for giving everyone this advice. He's deprived them of a nice little earner.

I still can't access Shell even on the app.
I couldn't get to my Shell account online but on the webpage they have an online form you can fill in. When I submitted it I got an onscreen message saying it had been successfully submitted. I took screenshots of that.

To anyone still trying to reach EDF:

I tried submitting a reading to them over a dozen times and kept getting error messages. During my last attempt, I had just entered the account number, when a message popped up saying I had already given my reading today - it showed the correct reading even though I never got a “successfully submitted” message previously. I took a photo and a screenshot of that which had better be good enough!

Been trying to submit mine and my parents (Eon and EDF) since 8.30 this morning…eon not recognising the login details, EDF saying they’re ‘not what was expected’ and to input again…over and over again 🙄🙄

Automatic meter reading phone line just ringing out.
No answer on messenger.
Message on phone line saying no one will be answering.
Absolute shit show for a national company.

Can’t activate the app because I don’t know my customer number as I don’t get letters any more, it’s on line.

I sent mine by email too but not had acknowledgement yet. I noticed just now on Eon website they are giving customers until 9th April to submit readings from today.
