I'll be watching with interest as I don't enjoy anything from there at all. I feel as if I'm looking at a different menu to everyone else. I don't understand the fuss.

AtrociousCircumstance · 25/03/2022 14:58

Veggie katsu is quite nice.

Forshorttheycallmecomp · 25/03/2022 14:59

Bang bang cauliflower.
Yaki udon.
Salt and pepper squid.

Bagelsandbrie · 25/03/2022 14:59

Oh I love a wagas!

I’d have yaki soba with chicken and prawns and edamame beans with chilli and salt. So nice!

Chishnfips · 25/03/2022 14:59

Firecracker chicken. Always clears the sinuses

Mackmama · 25/03/2022 15:01

I also like firecracker chicken. Great memories of having that when I was overdue with my first DS!

StrangeCondition · 25/03/2022 15:02

Yaki Udon here too and I also quite like the ribs

ShadowPuppets · 25/03/2022 15:03

I tend to go for a few sides / starters and treat them like asian tapas - as everything comes out at different times it doesn't make it awkward with others. So I'll usually do edamame, some gyoza and ebi katsu, or the squid balls. It does make it a bit pricier though.

Alternatively I recently had the teryiaki chicken hiyashi salad bowl and that was lovely. I'm not a fan of rice and I find their noodles quite greasy so I feel your pain! But it's Dsis's favourite place and they don't have one in her town, so I feel obliged to take her whenever she comes to see us Grin

SartresSoul · 25/03/2022 15:03

DH always gets firecracker chicken which he loves. I usually get yasai katsu curry, I haven’t found anything else on the main menu I like as yet but it’s over 1000 calories so it’s hefty and I can’t justify it atm when I’m trying to lose weight! I tried their vegan ramen last time and it was a disaster, I left most of it.

cherryonthecakes · 25/03/2022 15:03

Chilli squid and firecracker chicken here

Lyricallie · 25/03/2022 15:03

I really like the mushroom and aubergine steamed buns and the yasai itame (which I've just seen is no longer on the menu). However if they have another coconut broth style replacement that's what I would go for.

AiryFairy1 · 25/03/2022 15:04

Yaki udon
Yaki soba
Chicken katsu
Veg gyozas
Yakitori (chicken skewers)
chilli chicken ramen

mmm hungry now!

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 25/03/2022 15:05

Usually get the cha han but I think it might be called something different now - the donburi bowl. I also like chicken yakitori. They used to do really good skewers.

Ozanj · 25/03/2022 15:05

Firecracker chicken / tofu

raspberrymuffin · 25/03/2022 15:06

I'm here to second the veggie katsu. Also if it's a sunny day and you're sitting outside a bowl of edamame beans and a cold beer is an excellent way to spend some time.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 25/03/2022 15:06

The chocolate orange cake is amazing. It's like a truffle. And it's vegan!

Loopytiles · 25/03/2022 15:07

I used to be a fan but have been disappointed in recent times, especially with the lack of veg in the (non veggie) main dishes and blandness.

For 1000 calorie carb hit, yaki udon still hits the spot.

WellTidy · 25/03/2022 15:11

Yaki soba
Ginger chicken udon (44)
Chicken katsu

I love the duck gyoza and cherry dip as a starter, I could easily eat all five of them myself and really resist sharing

The chicken ramen is v low calorie and I found it bland when I had it too, though it is filling and warming for the calories

mbosnz · 25/03/2022 15:14

Teriyaki soba udon beef
Chicken raisu curry

Firesidefox · 25/03/2022 15:15

I also don't understand the fuss about this place. The food is overpriced and bland, in the main.

I get the Yasai Yaki Soba which is quite nice.

AeroMocha · 25/03/2022 15:16

steak soba, I think it's called

AeroMocha · 25/03/2022 15:16

or pad thai

Akite · 25/03/2022 15:17

Teriyaki chicken donburi, love it. Kids always have katsu, dh always has pad thai. There isn't one anywhere near us so we don't go often enough to deviate from our favourites!

DameHelena · 25/03/2022 15:18

I like the yasai yaki soba. All the gyoza are good to IMO.

This isn't the point, but it's Wagamama. [pedant]

DameHelena · 25/03/2022 15:18

PS is there a 'fuss' about it? I don't feel like it's massively hyped or anything.
