Report in the Guardian that she has had her passport returned and that a negotiating team are in place.

Too early for celebrations but I have got my fingers crossed behind my back.

@Igotjelly

It’s unfortunately very common for couples to split after one has suffered such significant trauma. Fingers crossed theirs is a happy ending/beginning
@Igotjelly - I think that’s a horrible thing to say about someone.

I was thinking I wonder what she’ll do now eg job and also I bet she’s sad if she’d planned on having a sibling for her daughter but her husband seems a loving, supportive and kind person. He’s obviously had to put his own life on hold due to his wife being wrongfully imprisoned but he’s never given up hope, has fought all the way and he knows life will take time to get back to normal so I think they’ll make things work.

CorneliusVetch · 16/03/2022 20:59

I can’t begin to imagine what her young daughter is feeling, to know her mother is finally coming home.

This should never have happened in the first place obviously, but given that it did, I’m so thrilled at this outcome. I honestly didn’t see it happening.

Gonnagetgoing · 16/03/2022 20:59

@ApolloandDaphne - I’d heard her parents could see her in another country but as to how easy that’d be I don’t know.

SynchroSwimmer · 16/03/2022 21:02

Is it Titan Airways ZT601?

Final low runway approach might be right above my bed…I might have to get up and flash my lights on and off as a “welcome home” 😀

Strikethrough fail 😬

Leftbutcameback · 16/03/2022 21:05

3rd most tracked flight? What are numbers one and two?! Have I missed something else exciting happening on a plane?

That’s the assumption, and probably a reasonable one given you don’t get many Muscat-Brize flights…
Musomama1 · 16/03/2022 21:09

Been following this from the very beginning as our local news covered it in the early days, Naz's in-laws live in our region.

Proper big cries today, I've lost count of how many times I've thought and prayed for this woman, in particular for strength to get through her ordeal. I don't know this family, but I'm so fucking relieved.

Agreed Richard Ratcliffe looked a different man in an interview today, the relief and elation was palpable, he looked years younger and happy. I wish them all the luck and happiness going ahead.

ArabellaStrange · 16/03/2022 21:09

I found out this afternoon when I was on a call for work. The person I was speaking to told me and I bought up the news on Google and I did cry.
I know the pain of being separated from your children and my heart is over filled with joy that she is returning home to be reunited with her daughter.
Some really good news for a change.

I think it will go over my house too on its approach.

TheOnlyMrsMac · 16/03/2022 21:14

They are about to fly over the Black Sea.

Bitterbean · 16/03/2022 21:14

Could someone post the link
to track the plane?

JayAlfredPrufrock · 16/03/2022 21:16

You need to download the Flight Radar app

CaveMum · 16/03/2022 21:17

@Leftbutcameback

@Leftbutcameback it’s now the second most tracked flight.

#1 is a USAF tanker flying refuelling loops over Poland. Obviously some action over there tonight.

www.flightradar24.com/

download it then use the search to find and follow ZT601

7,800 tracking them coming home.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 16/03/2022 21:26

It's also shown as AWC601 but it's Titan Airways ZT601.

If I was at my Mum’s house in Witney I’d be waving 😊

I thought this 4-minute analysis by Ros Atkins is pretty good as an overview:

twitter.com/bbcrosatkins/status/1504162478812536838?s=21

But as mentioned by a PP, the BBC 5-part podcast called Nazanin is really excellent. Neither the Iranian nor British governments come out of it terribly well. The British could have found a way to pay back this debt years ago, and chose not to. But the Iranian 'solution' of taking innocent people hostage can of course never be justified - it's an evil, corrupt regime.

This is absolutely the best flight I've ever tracked... such joy in all their faces.

So what is your fucking point? It's not worth her coming back?

Nasty!!

Crass, unnecessary and nasty comment, please delate this
Heronatemygoldfish · 16/03/2022 22:00

What's got me is how high the plane's flying - 40,000ft. It's higher than the vast majority of other planes.

I've randomly clicked and haven't found anything else higher than 38,000ft.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 16/03/2022 22:01

It's fascinating to be able to track individual flights. I first found out about it here on MN.

AWC601 has just crossed into Romanian air space, it appears.

No wish to detract from the thread but FWIW I suspect the answer to that is that flight is not carrying much payload (presumably a handful of passengers and next to no freight/baggage) compared with most of the commercial traffic.
