Report in the Guardian that she has had her passport returned and that a negotiating team are in place.

Too early for celebrations but I have got my fingers crossed behind my back.

@Saucery

Iran are not going to do anything to that plane. For goodness sake!
Have you forgotten them blowing up a Ukrainian plane in early 2020? Said they thought it was a missile.

I wouldn't trust the Iranian government as far as I could throw any of them.

Saucery · 16/03/2022 17:36

Oh give over, satsuma 🙄

It is also wonderful to spot Anoosheh Ashoori in the Oman photo too. I think it's important to mention his Lewisham East MP's involvement too, Janet Daby.

I think it’s quite disgusting that some posters are treating this like a Michael Bay film.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/03/2022 17:38

@JuneOsborne

Flipping heck, looks like they've got to go back over Iran. Roll on European airspace.
What makes you think that? The dotted line on FlightRadar is just the direct line (it appears a bit curved because of being projected from a sphere onto a plane). It's probably joining the major route over the Persian Gulf, I'd have thought.

Yes. I just want to see her back with her immediately family. I have concerns but not for this thread.
OnlyClothes · 16/03/2022 17:40

Thanks for the replies about her daughter/s. I’m completely baffled by that, like, REALLY baffled!

I mean, maybe the other daughter is just kept out of the public eye or something due to her age? (Clutching at straws here obviously)

Cubangal · 16/03/2022 17:41

@OnlyClothes

About her daughter. I was under the impression that she had two daughters. She took the youngest one to Iran to see her family then got arrested. The older one stayed in the uk and did regular FaceTime/zoom calls with her, and she would sometimes read a bedtime story or something like that. But since the younger one (presumable the now seven or eight year old) came back I’ve not heard about the older one. Is that not right then? Does anyone else remember an older daughter? Have I mixed up this story with someone else? Confused
Her daughter went back to the UK to start school.

Agree. She's a real person with a real (and very lovely) family.
Leftbutcameback · 16/03/2022 17:43

Anoosheh's wife is on the BBC now, and they showed a photo of him and Nazanin landing in Oman. The families are so strong, and amazing work by both MPs (as mentioned by @theonlymrsmac above)

Confused The replies explained she only has 1 daughter Gabriella.

“The news over the last few weeks has been so bleak I’m really struggling not to cry tears of joy at this.”

Me too! Really wonderful. Welcome home, Nazanin.

I have no idea what that is. Maybe we’re all just thrilled at there being a bit of good news for once.
CaptainMerica · 16/03/2022 17:48

@Littlepaws18

I can't even begin to imagine how she's feeling right now- I wonder about whether she will ever see her parents again. As I imagine she will never step foot in Iran. But the amazing elation she must be feeling about going home, seeing her baby, her home, her husband.
Are her parents still in Iran? I wondered if they secretly came to the UK along with her daughter, in order to ease that transition. I've always read that her house arrest was "at her parents home" rather than "with her parents", and wondered if that was a significant distinction.

So thrilled with the news. I noticed the coverage had gone quiet a few weeks ago, and hoped it meant things were happening behind the scenes.

Tiddlesthecat · 16/03/2022 17:48

Six years of her life spent away from her baby girl. And she may now be unable to add to her family had she wanted another child. Such injustice in the world!

Why the clutching though? Is it not far more likely you have just misremembered? (As opposed to all the replies being wrong Confused)
DesertStorms · 16/03/2022 17:50

Apparently her parents went to the airport in Iran with her but weren’t allowed in the same room.

Cubangal · 16/03/2022 17:51

Some people don’t like to be wrong. As if it matters at all, let alone right now.

IKnowYouDontTurnTheLightOn · 16/03/2022 17:51

@OnlyClothes so has one daughter - I’m baffled as to what you find baffling Confused.

TheOnlyMrsMac · 16/03/2022 17:52

Yes, @Leftbutcameback - moving BBC interview with Sherry Izadi, talking about her husband and family.

Cubangal · 16/03/2022 17:52

I’m baffled about why you are baffled about what is baffling 😉

JuneOsborne · 16/03/2022 17:53

@ErrolTheDragon

I was just looking at the projected flight path. I'm no flightradar expert. Pleased to hear they're not flying back over! It just gave me the jitters, thanks for the heads up!

Saucery · 16/03/2022 17:53

Maybe we’re all just thrilled at there being a bit of good news for once.

Yes, of course. Totally agree. It is wonderful news, so people shouldn’t be throwing wild speculation round about horrendous things that could go wrong. If Iran have let her go, they have let her go. It’s an abhorrent regime, but for what it’s worth, they have given their word on this.

Oh I see, I’d assumed you meant we were being too invested or something like that. I would definitely agree on the front of looking for bad things that could happen.
