Report in the Guardian that she has had her passport returned and that a negotiating team are in place.

Too early for celebrations but I have got my fingers crossed behind my back.

It must be such a relief.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 16/03/2022 15:32

Actually to those saying don’t send cards - I read an interview with Richard a while ago and it said when she had short releases from prison she was able to read cards sent to her via Amnesty.

ScouseQueen · 16/03/2022 15:33

Yes. Of all the things there are to be concerned about in the world today, I don't think someone sending a card to a stranger to wish them well is that high up the list for potential harm.

TerriblyNaice · 16/03/2022 15:35

I stood in the shower and burst into tears when it was reported that she'll be home today.
Doubt she'll believe it until she holds her little girl.

Finally something nice Flowers

MurmuratingStarling · 16/03/2022 15:36

I'm so chuffed! Will be lovely when she's out. She should never have been sent to jail!

stillherenow · 16/03/2022 15:37

Please anyone that spots an RAF plane taking off from Muscat post it here - can't wait to track it ! We need this good news!

BeforeGodAndAllTheFish · 16/03/2022 15:38

@Snoopsnoggysnog

Yes. Through amnesty. Which will have been vetted before being passed on.

They will not want unvetted cards piling up at their door. Her husband would have to check them all first to keep any vitriol away from her, but after what they've been through, I'm pretty certain he doesnt want that job either.

ZT601 scheduled to take off in half an hour from Muscat to Brize Norton
stillherenow · 16/03/2022 15:40

@TroublesomeTrucks thank you

How old is her daughter now does anyone know ? I remember seeing a film with her in - about 8? Young enough to be able to re establish a relationship i think , and she will remember being with her . Just lovely

Thoosa · 16/03/2022 15:41

She must be nearly 8.

WeAreTheHeroes · 16/03/2022 15:42

@ElectricFlower

Who is this arsehole?
What a wanker. Boris cost her her freedom for several years. What price that?

I presume the UK owed the money because it refused to honour the agreement made with the previous regime in Iran prior to the revolution there?

I hope that the family can be given some space to start to build their future together.

WeAreTheHeroes · 16/03/2022 15:44

Sorry, refused to honour the agreement after the revolution.

OnlyClothes · 16/03/2022 15:45

I’m confused by all the mention of her daughter. Doesn’t she have two daughters?

TodayWeShark · 16/03/2022 15:49

She has one daughter, and they've been apart (ie different countries) for the final bit only - she returned to the UK to start school here a couple of years ago.

The family will have had input and guidance on how to maintain the relationship as best she can.

There plenty of people here in NW3 thinking of them, who know them.

theDudesmummy · 16/03/2022 15:50

She has only one daughter. So glad she had landed.

Kfjsjdbd · 16/03/2022 15:50

Plane looks to be delayed. Can you imagine how desperate she is to get home. It’s unbearable to think about.

Wolfiefan · 16/03/2022 15:52

Holding my breath for her. Can’t imagine.

theDudesmummy · 16/03/2022 15:52

But at least she is safe and out of the reach of the Iranian authorities, which is the most important thing

Yes true. There are enough nutters in the world I suppose.

depthdespair · 16/03/2022 15:55

The flight has been delayed .

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/03/2022 15:58

So very pleased to hear this. Love all the Mumsnetters tracking her progress via flight radar Grin

Gonnagetgoing · 16/03/2022 16:00

She's 7 apparently.
Benjispruce5 · 16/03/2022 16:00

Oh I’m so happy to hear this! I wish her and her family so much happiness.Flowers
