Report in the Guardian that she has had her passport returned and that a negotiating team are in place.

Too early for celebrations but I have got my fingers crossed behind my back.

@WeAreTheHeroes

I guess that’s hanging over them… especially if the U.K. are seen to change their minds about any agreement. Though surely there is unfortunately more leverage from the other hostages they still have, than the Iranian grandparents of a now free U.K. woman.

Blackbird2020 · 16/03/2022 14:51

@BoreOfWhabylon

Can you let us know what station Richard Ratcliffe’s interview is on?

ElectricFlower · 16/03/2022 14:53

I’d be adding my anger for her if she ends up on a plane worth bojo for his photo opp when he kept her there!

LIZS · 16/03/2022 14:53

Fingers crossed this is freedom for her. But she will need time and space to come through the ordeal and rebond with her family in UK, so hope the media back off and leave them to it.

theDudesmummy · 16/03/2022 14:53

Anoosheh has also been released and will be home today.

Blackbird2020 · 16/03/2022 14:54

@idiotfacelicker

Thank you!

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/03/2022 14:55

For those who are interested, the UK has long had very close military ties with Oman.

Almost 50 years ago, when I was a very young military nurse, a patient arrived from there in the middle of the night. He was an SAS soldier, dreadfully injured in a war no one knew was going on.

I can still see his poor wounded face and beautiful eyes. RIP Tom.

@RobotValkyrie

Fingers crossed she'll be home soon. I've rarely felt so strongly about a stranger's plight, what happened to her and her family is horrendous.

Sounds silly, but I almost feel like sending her a welcome home card (not that I actually know her address...), just to let her know the world did not forget her, and did care during all these years.

I am going to send her a welcome home card. I don't know the exact address, but I will send it to Hampstead. Goodness knows, she's well known enough. I imagine the postman knows where she lives.
52andblue · 16/03/2022 14:56

@Pedallleur

boris will prob claim it's his diplomacy that has resulted in this. the cheque for £400 million thats 40 years overdue is incidental
Indeed. If the 'price' of Nazanin being released is Johnson's smugging then so be it but if it wasn't for his awful 'interventions' she might not have been incarcerated for so long anyway. I profoundly hope she is released today and that she & her Dd & H can get on with their lives in anonimity with as much support as they wish.
CaveMum · 16/03/2022 14:57

Pretty sure her plane just left Iranian airspace Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/03/2022 14:58

@Blackbird2020. Interview was on Radio5 live about 15 minutes ago. Will be on the Sounds app. They are talking to Jeremy Hunt now.

And Nazanin's plane is just leaving Iran and heading across the Gulf of Oman to Muscat.

TodayWeShark · 16/03/2022 14:58

It's not a military plane - it's a chartered plane hired by the Uk Government.

Hopefully Tulip now turns her attention to all of the UK Dual Citizens in Bangladeshi prisons.

Absolutely fantastic that Nazanin is on a flight home.

TodayWeShark · 16/03/2022 15:00

Please don't send cards etc unless the family ask you too - there's probably very well thought out plans for her mental health and Gabriella's during the return and reintegration.

Everything is probably about to get very overwhelming for all involved.

DomesticatedZombie · 16/03/2022 15:00

Over the sea now ...

52andblue · 16/03/2022 15:00

@BoreOfWhabylon - how lovely that you have kept Tom's memory in your head for all of these years.

Papyrus · 16/03/2022 15:01

For all my fellow plane trackers. ZT601 scheduled to fly from Muscat to Brize Norton.

@Tonya345

Please dont send anything. You dont know her. It is intrusive and they will all be wanting peace and calm and privacy.

They, or their legal team, may set up a P.O Box to receive things like that. If they announce that then go ahead. But dont try and send things to their town in the hope it will get to them. Just leave them in peace.

You could always send a welcome home message in twitter.

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/03/2022 15:04

@52andblue I was very young and had never seen combat injuries before. It left a powerful impression.

HeadacheGrey · 16/03/2022 15:07

I've just seen this news, it's fantastic. Can't believe it's finally happening.

TheOnlyMrsMac · 16/03/2022 15:08

Richard was interviewed today on BBC News too, just in the last hour. Their daughter Gabriella was with him and has chosen toys to take to show her mummy. It was lovely to see their happy eyes.

Why is an actual card intrusive, but a Twitter message isn't? I think they will be glad to know that people have been thinking about them. They can always bin the cards if they don't want them.
And I don't use Twitter.
