Do you go up to bed with a cup of tea?

I drink several cups of tea a day, the past week I've started to take one up to bed whilst I watch TV for an hour (I'm single) and brush my teeth after. This is the cuppa I enjoy the most! I go straight to sleep after as I think I'm immune to caffeine.
Anyone else have a bed time cuppa? Decaf doesn't count 😁

Yes I do! It's the highlight of my evening. Always herbal though..

louderthan · 14/03/2022 20:12

I do. It's so cosy and comforting! Caffeine doesn't seem to affect me either, I can have a double espresso after dinner and sleep fine

Me too! Think I'm immune to it now.

I don't have a tea before bed but I think I'll try as it sounds cosy

I can’t eat, drink or watch tv in bed, that’s just me !

Tiggy321 · 14/03/2022 20:19

Yep and my teens now do the same! Doesn’t seem to keep any of us awake!

Macaroni46 · 14/03/2022 20:24

@topcat2014 I drink barely anything after 6pm due to bladder issues (other than wine 😂). Not surprisingly am very thirsty in the morning so drink loads then.

LollipopsandCrisps · 14/03/2022 20:24

Yes, I glug a massive mug of peppermint tea and a whole pint of water during the night. Then loads of green tea during the day.

Huffle · 14/03/2022 20:25

Every single night. I sometimes need to get up for a wee but it’s worth it 😁 then DH makes me one first thing in the morning while I’m still in bed

Clarabe1 · 14/03/2022 20:26

Of course I do. I am British. It’s the law isn’t it?

FourChimneys · 14/03/2022 20:32

DH always puts a mug of tea on my bedside table while I'm in the shower.

LovelyIssues · 14/03/2022 20:33

I'm the same OP. Caffeine doesn't effect me at all

ReadyToMoveIt · 14/03/2022 20:34

I’m British. I can’t stand tea!
motherofawhirlwind · 14/03/2022 20:39

Husband brings me one up I once he's back from walking the dog (and makes another first thing). I hate my own tea but love his so this makes my happy every single day.

mumwon · 14/03/2022 20:44

decaf earl grey the only decaf with any flavour for me - its not always available so I get a a few when I see them
Shops own for normal use & Twinnings for a treat.

rosyvalentine · 14/03/2022 20:53

Yep. Me too. I take it up in my Ember mug and it stays nice and hot while I'm showering and brushing my teeth. Funnily enough, I used not to be able to drink tea after 8pm or I'd be awake all night. I seem to be immune to the caffeine nowadays! Sometimes I take a Heath & Heather Night Time tea instead of regular though. That knocks me out cold within 5 mins and I must say I do sleep better than after regular tea. Highly recommend for a good night's sleep. Haven't yet found another one that works as well.

rosyvalentine · 14/03/2022 20:56

PS. Not an #ad Grin

browneyes77 · 14/03/2022 20:59

I love tea (love a Yorkshire tea bag me), but I have an overactive bladder and if I drink tea in the evening, I’m pissing for England all night Grin

Curlygirl06 · 14/03/2022 20:59

Cup of tea and a biscuit, paper, tv, mumsnet, perfect end to the day. I'm normally awake for a wee once in the night, have done for years and not having tea at night makes no difference.
I usually have to get in and out of bed 47 million times before I go to sleep anyway, so plenty of chance to clean my teeth, go for 46 million wees etc before I actually go to sleep.

SpaceshipDay · 14/03/2022 21:04

Always have a cuppa and read or watch the news in bed at night. Then I brush my teeth and do a wee Grin. Caffeine has no effect on my sleep either.

MrsDThomas · 14/03/2022 21:25

I only have one cup of tea a day and its at 3pm at the office if i gave a biccy with it. I don’t it otherwise and never at home.
I have a small cafetière in the morning (2 mugs) and a coffee at 10 am. Nothing but water afterwards.

Im not that keen on the taste of the tea.

PukkaP · 14/03/2022 21:31

I drink about 10 mugs of tea a day, but don't take it to bed

ChocolateIsAlwaysTheAnswer · 14/03/2022 21:37

I love tea but my last proper cup is at about 8PM as otherwise I would have to get up in the night for the loo

BraayTigger · 14/03/2022 21:43

Yes every night I take a hot drink to bed and a bowl of cereal 😬
However my hot drink is normally a nespresso latte 😬😬 (sometimes a tea).
I am immune to caffeine and sleep perfectly x

rc22 · 14/03/2022 22:15

Occasionally I go to bed a bit early to read and take a cuppa with me. Also might have a cup of tea in bed in the winter if it's particularly cold or if I have a sore throat.

Barrawarra · 14/03/2022 22:18

I’d pee all night if I drank tea so close to bed. I’m playing with fire if I chance one at 8ish after the kids go down Hmm
