Do you go up to bed with a cup of tea?

I drink several cups of tea a day, the past week I've started to take one up to bed whilst I watch TV for an hour (I'm single) and brush my teeth after. This is the cuppa I enjoy the most! I go straight to sleep after as I think I'm immune to caffeine.
Anyone else have a bed time cuppa? Decaf doesn't count 😁

Usually have one about 9pm then go up after to get ready for bed

Mumski45 · 14/03/2022 17:45

Every single night. I am a tea tank though and have lots in a day. Can't get up or go to bed (or do anything really) without one. I even take one with me when I go on I sort bike to drink whilst I'm warming up.

Yes, but it is decaf.
I have one coffee in the morning (good freshly ground beans) - occasionally one in the early afternoon. Normal tea the rest of the day until about 6pm, only decaf or herbals after that.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 14/03/2022 17:52

I used to until I faced the fact that 10 cups of tea a day was probably contributing to my lack of sleep. Over the past year our daily routine has changed completely so no more drinks when we go to bed but we do take it in turns to make drinks in the morning which we enjoy in bed.

maddiemookins16mum · 14/03/2022 17:53

Sometimes, especially in the winter.

Steelesauce · 14/03/2022 17:54

I have Yorkshire bedtime brew in bed. I sleep like a log! The times I don't have it, I'm up and down a night

MrsGHarrison87 · 14/03/2022 17:55

Yes. I love a hot drink before bed.

ClariceQuiff · 14/03/2022 17:56

Not usually. I suffer from insomnia so I try to get my head down and light off as soon as possible to begin the lengthy process of coaxing my mind to drift into sleep.

MrsTimRiggins · 14/03/2022 17:56

Every night. It’s our routine, DH lets the dog out, loads the dishwasher then makes the tea, I take off my makeup and faff about with my hair and skincare routine, Princess that I am Grin
Love cosying up in bed with a cuppa Grin

StrawberrySanta · 14/03/2022 17:57

Omg this literally would never have crossed my mind to do. Tea in bed, genius! I have 1 or 2 mugs in a morning and that's generally it. Might take one to bed tonight!! I don't have decaff though 🤔

Shona52 · 14/03/2022 18:00

I tend to go watch tv on the bed if hubby is watch footie etc. I get him to bring one up to me At half time love my tea in bed 😉

Bertiebiscuit · 14/03/2022 18:01

Herbal tea only, but yes

Calandor · 14/03/2022 18:02

No. In fact I don't drink caffeine after 3pm because I'm scared I won't sleep well. I have chamomile before bed. Sometimes ginger.

VampireMoney · 14/03/2022 18:02

Never drink decaf, it's horrible. But then caffeine doesn't keep me awake. Just as well because I love my last cuppa in bed.

cavalier · 14/03/2022 18:07

No I don’t enjoy tea for some reason after 9pm … I have decaf tea anyway … I just take a cup of water .. boring but anything else disturbs my sleep pattern … especially sugary ones …

DressingGownSequins · 14/03/2022 18:09

Sometimes. The caffeine doesn't bother me but my premature ovarian failure means my bladder likes to pee...a lot! So it becomes annoying in the night

BustyLaRoux · 14/03/2022 18:09

I wish my exMIL would listen to some of you! She has terrible insomnia. Like really really bad and is often awake until the small hours. Has even been known to not sleep for the entire night. But she and exPIL drink tea and coffee throughout the day. Always the same routine which they cannot alter. It’s a cuppa first thing at 8am. Then a coffee at 10am. Then another tea to have with lunch. Often followed by another cup immediately afterwards. Then coffee at 2:30pm and another cuppa at 4pm. Then tea with dinner. And a cup of tea to have in bed. And she wonders why she can never sleep. I have tried suggesting she cut out the caffeine but this can’t be the cause of the problem, apparently!! Hmm

Leggingslife · 14/03/2022 18:10

Don't you then need a wee in the night?

etulosba · 14/03/2022 18:10

Only if I want to be wide awake all night.

DameHelena · 14/03/2022 18:13

@Leggingslife

Don't you then need a wee in the night?
Yes, but since my mid-30s I have anyway, so I might as well enjoy a cup of tea in bed!
Makeupface · 14/03/2022 18:13

Yes and it's the cuppa I enjoy the most! No interruptions, perfect temperature and a book or crap TV

nannykatherine · 14/03/2022 18:16

If you say no
Are you British ???🤣🤷🏽‍♂️

Vapeyvapevape · 14/03/2022 18:20

I take a flask of coffee to bed with me .

SpaceFarce · 14/03/2022 18:27

@goaskmum

Yes, I love tea. It’s usually the last thing I drink at night and the first thing I drink in the morning!
Me too. DH makes me a cuppa every morning and I don’t know which “love language” that is, but it’s mine.
