Do you go up to bed with a cup of tea?

I drink several cups of tea a day, the past week I've started to take one up to bed whilst I watch TV for an hour (I'm single) and brush my teeth after. This is the cuppa I enjoy the most! I go straight to sleep after as I think I'm immune to caffeine.
Anyone else have a bed time cuppa? Decaf doesn't count 😁

I hate tea, and coffee is only for mornings, so no!

EmpressSuiko · 13/03/2022 22:31

Every night! I don’t ever seem to feel the effects of caffeine, even when I drink cappuccinos or lattes!

Ragwort · 13/03/2022 22:31

No ..l but I often take a strong coffee ... doesn't seem to effect how I sleep and I always wake for a pee anyway.

Used to - would have loads of tea every day and really enjoyed my 9pm cup but then I turned 30 and all of a sudden any caffeine after about 2pm gives me a really unsettled night. Was the first time I felt like I was getting old Grin

megletthesecond · 13/03/2022 22:35

Never. My last cup is around 2pm.

I take water to bed.

Chickpeabiryani · 13/03/2022 22:37

Me right now; in bed with a cup of tea, a hot water bottle and a cat. Nothing better.

DramaAlpaca · 13/03/2022 22:38

I often take a cup of tea up to bed with me, but unfortunately it always means an extra trip to the loo during the night.

Joyfulflowers · 13/03/2022 22:41

No, as I don't drink tea as in traditional tea.

However, I do take up a glass of wine or cup of chamomile tea depending on my mood.

My favourite drink of the day is my morning coffee which I take back to bed and then read for about half an hour-longer if I'm not working or it's the weekend. Absolute bliss

Never go to bed without a cuppa, the way I see it there is nothing that a cup of tea can’t fix and love destressing with a book at the end of the day.

Boobahs · 13/03/2022 22:46

I drink coffee during the day but always have a cup of tea before bed!

Fupoffyagrasshole · 13/03/2022 22:46

I’ve done this for years I love it !!

When I was pregnant last year I used to go to bed at 8pm and my big treat was a cup of tea and a twirl bar in bed watching an episode before I went to sleep 😂😂 bliss

WeatherwaxOn · 13/03/2022 22:51

Not now, but I used to in my childhood, teens and into my early 20's. I have to have a cup first thing when I get up otherwise I cannot function.
I generally take a drink of water up to bed, and will occasionally have a hot drink (fruit tea, horlicks) before that. As it is , I have to get up for the loo several times so no point making it worse :)

justasking111 · 13/03/2022 22:59

Drinking one now then I will go to bed. We always have one in the morning and take it back to bed. Get up early for the dog

EthelTheAardvark · 13/03/2022 23:20

No, because I just know I would be awake 3 or 4 hours later busting for a wee.

AlwaysLatte · 13/03/2022 23:35

No, just water at night but my lovely husband always brings me coffee in the mornings.

Nikolaus · 13/03/2022 23:38

Honestly, I am immune to caffeine, so yes. I can multiple coffees and then go to sleep straight afterwards. No energy drink has ever been able to keep me awake.

Rockbird · 13/03/2022 23:39

Yes. Last thing at night, first thing in the morning and constantly through the day. I seem to be immune to caffeine, it doesn't bother me at all.

Stormchaser1502 · 13/03/2022 23:40

Ginger or turmeric tea in bed. In fact I take TWO large mugs of it to bed!!

And the first thing I do when I wake is make a cuppa and take it back to bed. Once that’s drunk, the day may begin!! I set my alarm earlier in order for Thai to happen!!

I then drink a cuppa probs about every hour until bedtime!

3beesinmybonnet · 13/03/2022 23:41

I used to years ago but stopped when I realised that was the cause of my regular nightmares where I was desperate for a wee but couldn't get to a toilet, for a variety of unlikely reasons, such as every toilet in a block being broken, missing or overflowing; the only available public toilet being guarded by gangs of yobs; and MIL's toilet being in the middle of her kitchen and she's cooking a roast Grin

SouperNoodle · 13/03/2022 23:44

DH and I put the kids tbh and then each take a cuppa up to our room and relax and watch tv.
I love it

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 13/03/2022 23:50

Every night. Just waiting for my cup of coffee to cool down at the moment. In all fairness though I won't have had a drink since about 1.30- 2:30 in the afternoon and probably only 1 or if I'm lucky 2 cups in the morning. Caffeine doesn't keep me awake although I do tend to drink decaf usually.

AuntTwacky · 13/03/2022 23:53

Would keep me awake

Fayekrista · 13/03/2022 23:54

Absolutely not! I always go to bed with a glass of grape juice.... sleep amazingly 😉

RockinHorseShit · 13/03/2022 23:56

No, but we don't drink tea. Just occasional herbal stuff.

Cup of hot cocoa for bed though, nothing else cuts it & we might have added baileys to it tonight

helloisitmeyourelookingfor · 13/03/2022 23:57

Quite often take a milky coffee

Not a tea fan really
