Do you go up to bed with a cup of tea?

I drink several cups of tea a day, the past week I've started to take one up to bed whilst I watch TV for an hour (I'm single) and brush my teeth after. This is the cuppa I enjoy the most! I go straight to sleep after as I think I'm immune to caffeine.
Anyone else have a bed time cuppa? Decaf doesn't count 😁

Yes, almost every night for as long as I can remember!

summerin69 · 14/03/2022 18:31

yep - last night, in bed at 9 with a cup of tea and a book. Lovely. I've done it since I was a teen.

iloveautumn3 · 14/03/2022 18:31

Yes every night x

No, but when pregnant I would go to bed with an Ovaltine (the one you make with milk, not the rubbish water one). One of my happiest memories. 🙂

Raizin · 14/03/2022 18:34

Nope, never have.

PortalooSunset · 14/03/2022 18:55

Sometimes, but a gerbil one rather than 'normal' tea. But usually it's a Horlicks #gimmer

PortalooSunset · 14/03/2022 18:56

Oh ffs - HERBAL!

Macaroni46 · 14/03/2022 19:03

No. The caffeine would keep me awake and the volume of liquid would get me up weeing in the night! I'm a delicate flower!

Hushhush89 · 14/03/2022 19:04

It quite interesting seeing how many people say they have to stop having caffeine after a certain time otherwise they can't sleep..

I have my last cup of coffee (don't drink tea) around 11pm but never take any to bed with me

Lunificent · 14/03/2022 19:06

I really love a noice cup of tea but caffeine before bed would mean I wouldn’t sleep. I have my last cup by 6.

Nidan2Sandan · 14/03/2022 19:07

God no, as much as I would love to I'd be peeing for England all night. I pee a good 3-4 times a night between climbing in to bed, and waking the next morning as it is.

MurmuratingStarling · 14/03/2022 19:08

No. I go to bed to sleep, strangely. Confused

Stroopwaffle5000 · 14/03/2022 19:14

Yep! 😁🫖

topcat2014 · 14/03/2022 19:16

To those who stop at 4, what do you drink on the hour every hour for the next six hours :)

Seriously that's half your waking hours with no hot drinks!

CrunchyCarrot · 14/03/2022 19:17

No, tea's a diuretic for me so if I have it close to bedtime I'll be up several times in the night!

Harmonypuss · 14/03/2022 19:25

Allergic to tea, so no.

I also have a health condition which makes me hypersensitive to caffeine so I drink decaf coffee all day long, I even take a travel mug to bed at 11pm or even later.

mousey37 · 14/03/2022 19:25

I love tea but at 47 can no longer drink caffeine past 4 o'clock without being up all night. Also would be up all night weeing.

Kazz36 · 14/03/2022 19:29

I absolutely hate tea!
But, I love a cappincino in bed before I sleep. I am lucky it never keeps me awake.

Mediocrates · 14/03/2022 19:31

A cup of tea (Earl Grey because I'm a lightweight 😁) and a glass of water in bed every single night. In fact, if I wake up and can't get back to sleep, a nice warm cuppa usually does the trick

Willowowisp · 14/03/2022 19:35

That's the thing about tea: it gets me off to sleep and wakes me up

Gilly12345 · 14/03/2022 19:47

Yes I take a small mug of tea upstairs to bed every evening just before bed and watch tv in bed, read and watch the depressing 10pm news.

I used to have hot milk but now prefer tea.

How exciting is my life 😂😂

Verity226 · 14/03/2022 19:54

I do indeed.

It'll be ovaltine tonight though.

tiredanddangerous · 14/03/2022 20:00

I'd love to but I have the bladder capacity of the average 2 year old.

Yazmindahenn · 14/03/2022 20:01

I drink tea from whe I wake up until I go to sleep, never have issues sleeping

It's the last think I drink before I go to sleep every night 🤷‍♀️

Tessabelle74 · 14/03/2022 20:09

This is my treat when my husband is on nights 😁☕
