Do you go up to bed with a cup of tea?

I drink several cups of tea a day, the past week I've started to take one up to bed whilst I watch TV for an hour (I'm single) and brush my teeth after. This is the cuppa I enjoy the most! I go straight to sleep after as I think I'm immune to caffeine.
Anyone else have a bed time cuppa? Decaf doesn't count 😁

Yes. Especially if one been on a long day.

Luckingfovely · 14/03/2022 00:06

Every night. Best cup of the day.

But it has to be Yorkshire Gold decaf and it's the nicest tea I ever drink. Very close to moving to it in the day too but I'd miss the caffeine...

ShinyPikachu · 14/03/2022 00:24

I often do but with coffee (I only drink decaf now but caffeine never used to affect my sleep.)

Morrisons also do a lovely malted milk drink which I sometimes enjoy if I need something more comforting.

I used to when I was much younger but now I’m old and if I drink tea before bed I will be up with heartburn all night

Ohdofuckofdear · 14/03/2022 00:53

No and I love tea so I don't know why I haven't,so I'm going to start to take myself up a cup of tea from tomorrow/today.

Notdoingthis · 14/03/2022 03:00

I drink a lot of tea but my teeth are not very white and boiling the kettle costs now, so I am trying to limit it.
I always took tea to bed but gave it up this year thinking my sleep and teeth might improve. They have.

Traumdeuter · 14/03/2022 06:21

I’d love to do this but I’d get too cosy and not be arsed to get up again and brush my teeth. Often have a cup downstairs right before bed though, either peppermint, camomile or Yorkshire with milk.

LaraDeSalle · 14/03/2022 06:28

I hate tea but occasionally take a hot chocolate up with me.

Caspianberg · 14/03/2022 06:32

I take a herbal tea ( usually a fennel/ mint mix type) every evening now. Sometimes in bed whilst I read.
Started when Ds was born 2 years ago and I would spend ages feeding him in bed in evening so dh bought tea up for us both.

Rinatinabina · 14/03/2022 06:34

Yup, I like to read the newspaper and get myself really stressed out before bedtime as well.

merrymelodies · 14/03/2022 06:55

I wish! I'm in bed now and would love a nice cup of tea but alas, it would keep me awake.

mumpants · 14/03/2022 07:01

Yes! Love it!

merryhouse · 14/03/2022 08:51

Nope. Once I'm in bed I'm not getting out again just to clean my teeth.

I used to take a peppermint tisane to bed - I could clean my teeth beforehand and it didn't clash with the toothpaste - but that stopped at some point during co-sleeping. Grin

Tea first thing though, obviously.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 14/03/2022 08:53

No, I'd be up all night weeing.

UniBallEye · 14/03/2022 09:49

Nope! I rarely drink tea these days, I don't like it enough. I do have a cup of proper coffee made in our Sage machine brought to me every morning by dh and I LOVE that first coffee of the day in my cosy bed. It sets me up for whatever the day will bring. He makes really good porridge and every day for the past 20 odd year's he's brought it up to me. He's really not into eating in bed and he's a morning person so he likes doing it. On special occasions like his birthday / fathers day he'll have his in bed instead but generally he doesn't like it.

On the weekends I often bring a glass of wine up early and get into bed to watch something dh has no interest in watching.

Yesterday teatime we both lay on the top of the bed with a galls of wine and watched an episode of a series we're following and it was so lovely.

I can drink coffee at night and sometimes do if out for dinner but when at home I generally don't. I have 2 proper coffees a day and water mainly after that. With wine / gin sometimes at the weekends .

LoganberryJam · 14/03/2022 09:51

No. I don't drink tea very often and I only have one cup of coffee a day (in the morning).

andysgirl22 · 14/03/2022 09:53

Pretty much every night since forever .x could one of you sleep well drinkers please tell me a good place to get them from and if you add milk please x

AuntFlorence · 14/03/2022 09:57

I take my toothbrush with me to bed too Blush so I can brush them afterwards if I can't be bothered to get back out of bed

LER83 · 14/03/2022 10:07

I have one downstairs just before I go up to bed, I don't go to bed until I've had it! I take a glass of water up to bed with me, and that's the last thing i drink. Weirdly the only time I have to get up to go to toilet in the night is the week my period is due!

DameHelena · 14/03/2022 17:33

I know you're not allowing this, but I always have a herbal. Bed early with a peppermint tea and a good book is a joy.

Dwightlovesjim · 14/03/2022 17:36

I’d be weeing all night.

catsandquails · 14/03/2022 17:38

I quite often fancy a tea or coffee in the evening especially if it's cold going up to bed, but I can't because I'll be up to pee several times through the night!

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 14/03/2022 17:38

DH brings me a cup of tea in bed every single night :-)

Newbabynewhouse · 14/03/2022 17:41

Id love to but it'd make me pee all night

Tulipsinmyvase · 14/03/2022 17:41

Always! I find it so comforting. It’s never affected my sleep negatively.
