I’m on holiday that week but haven’t really thought what to do. We don’t really know our neighbours so a street party is out. Perhaps I’ll ask DM & DF if they fancy meeting up for a little tea party. And there’ll be loads on tv. I might even buy some trashy commemorative bits!

Yes, I've booked a holiday abroad so I don't have to be in the country and have it shoved in my face 24/7. Grin

AuntieMarys · 13/03/2022 14:51

Avoiding it all costs.

dementedma · 13/03/2022 14:54

A lot happening through work so I will be busy

Lillith111 · 13/03/2022 14:56

Anti monarchist so no

Oatsamazing · 13/03/2022 14:57

I work on Bank Holidays so I'll be doing that.

JustSaying101 · 13/03/2022 14:57

Not a scooby!

Iputthetrampintrampoline · 13/03/2022 15:15

Nope me neither, Mind you the way some comentators are harking on especially on you tube they seem to think the Queen might not make it, I hope she does though. I am not too keen on the Royals but I hope she has a good few days celebrating,

tinytemper66 · 13/03/2022 15:20

No.

purpledagger · 13/03/2022 15:22

Someone down my road is planning a street party, so I'm going to help with that. Otherwise, will just enjoy the bank holiday weekend.

Gingerkittykat · 13/03/2022 15:22

No.

TeenPlusCat · 13/03/2022 15:25

We'll be putting flags & bunting up.

I know my neighbours. We are trying to work out if we can just hide or if we need to go away for the weekend to avoid the Queen Bee's street party.
SoMuchToBits · 13/03/2022 15:28

Possibly some Playmobil scenes... Wink

But in RL will probably be working some days if there are shifts available, due to extra money for bank holidays.

Soubriquet · 13/03/2022 15:29

I really couldn’t care less, so no.

the80sweregreat · 13/03/2022 15:30

I can't wait to hear George Ezra at Buckingham palace 🙄
The televised concert might produce a few laughs plus I'm sure a few people will throw street parties so the tv people can film them in Union Jack hats etc , but mostly I'll be at home with my feet up.
The last jubilee , the boats on the Thames were on tv and I had a hangover feeling rubbish.
It also tipped it down

ifonly4 · 13/03/2022 15:31

I'll be working. DH on 24 hour call out for a week that's over that weekend so depends how that goes for him. If he has lots of call outs on top of a 40 hour week, then nothing. Also, can't drink and will need car available so if there's a street party, he'll have to park the car a few mins away so he can get away quick (we're in a cul-de-sac so car needs to be elsewhere to leave quickly). From this, I'm guessing not.

ehb102 · 13/03/2022 15:38

I am having a Jubilee party for my football girls. We will have traditional races like sack races and egg.and spoon races, some old style fete stuff and tea and cake in the pavillion. Families are invited.

Have you got insurance? I organised a street party for Charles and Diana's wedding. We did races, one neighbour fell, was unconscious and quite poorly for a while. Glad we had insurance.
CMOTDibbler · 13/03/2022 15:43

Our street (well, 3 streets actually) will be having a party on the green, maybe a produce competition but mainly a potluck meal

ohfourfoxache · 13/03/2022 15:44

Not a chance

I’m not anti-monarchy particularly (although I’m definitely no royalist) but I fail to see what is so fantastic that a woman lost her dad at a relatively young age, became queen and has lived for a long time. After the last 2 years, and what’s happening now, it’s not exactly a cause for celebration

Figgygal · 13/03/2022 15:44

We get home from a week away on the friday
Our village committee are planning some events which inevitably revolve around the pub so ill be up for anything they want to plan

dudsville · 13/03/2022 15:46

I will be enjoying the additional BH and long weekend doing who knows what, but I wouldn't expect to be doing anything monarchy-related. Having said that I have watched a couple of weddings... I guess there will be some kind of event but what I do will be much more weather dependent.

TimBoothseyes · 13/03/2022 15:48

Nope, couldn't be less interested if I tried.

ParkheadParadise · 13/03/2022 15:49

No No No
We will be in Cyprus lying on the beach with a drink.
Definitely won't be thinking about Auld Lizzie and her Fucked up family 🥂🥂

MrsTerryPratchett · 13/03/2022 15:49

After what happened with Andrew people want to celebrate a hereditary monarchy? Nowt as queer as folk.
