How many pizzas would you have ordered?

Following a tense situation this evening I though I'd consult the hive mind.

Friday night dinner for 6 adults - how much would you expect you'd need to order?

(Dominoes/Pizza Hut style pizza)

Depends on the size of the pizzas and what else is on offer. I'd want 3 good sized slices of pizza plus sides per person. So 3 large pizzas (or save the hassle and get 6 personal pizzas) plus those chicken strip things and some potato wedges.

I would say 4-5 pizzas.

The price of Domino's though is ludicrous. Even with the deals. Don't be hard on your FIL.

We'd order one large pizza per adults, plus sides to share.

Leftovers put in the fridge and eaten next day.

I get the massive salad is a bit of a Mumsnet joke but I have a question...... People who eat a salad with pizza, how do you eat it? With a fork as a side? Eat the pizza with a fork as well? Put the salad on top of the salad? It's keeping me awake at night.
I like salad with pizza.

Id have one slice of pizza on my plate (more if I didn't think there would be any left when I went back for more) and a fuckton of salad and eat the whole lot with a knife and fork.

But I'm weird and don't like eating food with my hands.

Pizza tastes SO much better the following day for breakfast!

OP - I'd probably order 5. Plenty to fill everybody up and enough so that they don't feel obliged to limit the amount they have.

It is good that your dp has gone to buy some more food is all I can say!
My friend's dad used to order one pizza for 7 people. One slice each was apparently enough.

We used to do Pizza Hut all you can eat buffet. It was disgusting but delicious.

Don't they know that you need 500 extra calories a day as a BF mum? I calculated mine in single finger Twixes

I'm pretty sure I counted mine in Mars bars, about unm 5 a day? Seems right.

Actually back in the mists of time we just ate anything everything that vaguely looked like food.

I order 4 large domino’s for 5 of us (no sides because we order two for Tuesday) and there is always exactly 1 pizza worth left for the next day. That’s dh, me and dss 26, 24, and 15.

Tonight we had 3 Goodfellas pizzas with salad between us (pizzas £1 each in Iceland) and it was every bit as good.

For guests 6 large pizzas or 4 with sides. I’m not surprised you are hungry.

None takeaway pizza is shit overpriced food. I need to save money to pay my energy bills and eat healthier as there won’t be any NHS in the future. Six adults could surely rustle up a simple healthy meal between them?
Even made at home, with fresh, ingredients that is not enough food for dinner for 6 adults.

Lovely lovely man, I think too prideful to say it was more expensive than he'd anticipated/didn't understand to utilise the deals.

If it was from Domino, the price would have been eye watering if ordering 6. The deals are crap and never suit us. We tend to avoid it because of the cost for mediocre pizza.

6 adults, I'd order 3 large pizzas and a few sides and I imagine there would be left overs as not everyone would eat half a pizza each.

Ooh only 1 pizza. A small slice each would be enough, then the other half could be frozen and used again. With water to drink I would be stuffed.

I was coming here to say it depends on the size of the pizza but that description would only have satisfied me and DH (me personal sized and him medium or him a large if he fancied a couple of slices for breakfast!)

Definitely at least a personal each, or 3 large between 6. Plus sides.

Good on your DH for his emergency snacks (I approve of his choices!) and perhaps a quick lesson to FIL on maximising deals next time!
