Does anyone know what that actually means? Is he threatening nuclear war?

Talk about insincere peace talks, they're bombing Kyiv again, you cannot negotiate with people who act this way

Inastatus · 28/02/2022 18:23

@marieantoinehairnet - oh no 🙁

A friend has just posted on FB suggesting that everyone joins a mass reviewing of Moscow’s hotels and restaurants by giving them a 1 star rating but then instead of a review, write a report on what’s really happening in the Ukraine as a way of getting the truth to the Russians. Any thoughts on whether this is a good idea or not?

It seems very unfair on the people who run the hotels considering that a lot of normal people in Russia don’t want this and are actually suffering.

Also no one’s staying there atm!

Anomynous have suggested this on twitter. People are doing it.

Giving one star reviews would lower the hotel and restaurant's overall ratings(which people look at before going there) which I don't really think is fair.
ABitBesotted · 28/02/2022 19:25

What a beastly thing to do.

Still, kill the pig, cut its throat, spill its blood, eh?

A lot of people are enjoying venting their nastiness on "the Russians."

Libertybear80 · 28/02/2022 19:25

Will it work on Trip advisor?

Perhaps give 5 star reviews instead?

@OhLordyWhatNow - yes, 5 star reviews would be a better idea.

Meakai · 28/02/2022 20:33

Putin believes that he has put procedures in place that would protect him personally from nuclear war. He would not hesitate to deploy nuclear weapons to other countries. He is insane and we should be very worried.

youhadmeatjello · 28/02/2022 20:36

@Meakai you shouldn’t post things like that without a source.

Seriously, you think I need a source for my belief? I thought that he would invade and he did. Everyone else thought he was posturing. You cannot reason with insanity. The west needs to get real.

DrSbaitso · 28/02/2022 20:45

Well, it would give it more weight if you could say where it came from.

DrSbaitso · 28/02/2022 20:45

Especially since you stated it as fact.

Meakai · 28/02/2022 20:48

@Handsoffreturns

Do people honestly believe that Putin has a magic button he can press to release nuclear missiles? That he and he alone could do this? His advisors do not want nuclear war. It won’t happen.
I’m not sure that Putin would be the one to press the button, but I’m equally not confident that those further down the line would refuse his orders. We are dealing with a megalomaniac. No one knows what procedures he has put in place to avoid insurgence from his inner circle. People are making the mistake of thinking logically. VP is not thinking logically.

I think the Russians would topple Putin before it gets that far. The Cuban mission crisis went on for 13 days but the Russians backed down eventually. I am hopeful it's just Putin blustering and kicking his toys out of his pram. Having said that I thought the same about Russia even invading Ukraine so what do I know..

Meakai · 28/02/2022 20:58

I’m honestly not trying to create panic. I do think that we have to be realistic about Putin. So far he has not shown an ounce of reasonable thinking. He is on a mission, as proved by the recent invasion and his threats of nuclear war. IMO he is behaving like a cornered rat and is very unpredictable. Others are thinking like reasonable people, which is a mistake. You have to get into the mind of the opponent. VP is dangerous and conniving and that is how his opponents have to think too (the conniving bit)

Has it occurred to you that there may be people on here that have a better insight than you into Putin/Russia/the entire situation with Ukraine meakai?
Nope!
