Does anyone know what that actually means? Is he threatening nuclear war?

OP posts:
bossox · 27/02/2022 16:21

When the nuclear cloud approaches, place your head between your knees and kiss your arse goodbye.

Bohemianwannabe · 27/02/2022 16:22

There needs to be a coup overthrow him shoot him and go back to being in the 21st century

Kassle · 27/02/2022 16:22

Reading this, while I live on my London flat is not comforting.

That's exactly where you want to be, you wouldn't even know anything had happened.

Mydoghealsmyheart · 27/02/2022 16:24

Expert on Sky news just talking through a map of potential targets for any nuclear strike by Putin. He then said that there would inevitably be retaliation by other countries and that would mean the end of civilisation!!! How do we protect our kids from hearing this? It’s terrifying. I couldn’t believe my ears.

TheresSomebodyAtTheDoorNeil · 27/02/2022 16:25

Putin won't have a big button be has access to. He has to order his advisors and I honestly think they wouldn't be that bloody stupid, the look on their faces spoke volume. Nobody wins if they start nuclear war, we're all fucked. Including them.

TiddyTidTwo · 27/02/2022 16:25

Putin needs a quick double tap, then the world leaders need to take a long hard look at themselves and make changes.

Wishful thinking, I know

Well what did you expect watching Sky News? They're notorious for being sensationalist doom mongers.

He's right, nuclear war is the end of days. But you knew that already. Everyone knows that. Of course there is a map of targets. That's been the case ever since those weapons existed. It's not new information. Them discussing it on the news means nothing.

Watch the BBC.

Mummapenguin20 · 27/02/2022 16:28

We live in a scary world

Booboobibles · 27/02/2022 16:33

@veevee04

I don't believe him at all, the oligarchs own the country and let him have the power would they really let him press the button ? If he carries on he's going to end up having an "accident" and falling out of a very high window. He's throwing his toys out of the pram don't believe him.
The only sane person on the thread.

Why is it so addictive reading all these hysterical posts from people who don’t know what they’re talking about?

Infinitemoon · 27/02/2022 16:34

Watch the BBC.

Is this a joke? The BBC?!

OhLordyWhatNow · 27/02/2022 16:34

Putin needs a lovely Novichok handshake from his senior military team, or be sent a "congratulatory" box of COVID-22 chocolates from China.

When you look at Putin in recent broadcasts his face looks bloated like he's on high dose steroids. Something is definitely very seriously wrong with.

This is his swan song. Unfortunately Ukraine are the target and we are witnessing a heinous actions of a mad man.

For Christ sake someone with access do something to stop him.

We live in a scary world
Well yes we do. I discovered that 20 years ago sadly.
Poetrypatty · 27/02/2022 16:36

I should think he'll be making his own cups of tea and sandwiches given Russian form for poisoning people

1forAll74 · 27/02/2022 16:37

Just read through the reports of all the experts, who have knowledge about a dictator like Putin, threatening nuclear things.. He is a deluded and nasty person, and this is his way of looking clever in the world, just threats all round,, but knowing the whole world is against him now.

He may get blown up himself one of these days. He can't control the whole world.

BrambleAndBees · 27/02/2022 16:38

BBC live, the EU update sounds very serious.

It must feel really nice to not feel scared about all of this . I just hope you do know know what you are talking about .

thecatsthecats · 27/02/2022 16:39
@chairbumg I think his image is everything and he’s just the kind of personality to react in a knee jerk fashion to statements that enrage him, especially when he’s clearly not in a sane place.
I actually dealt with someone with a very similar mentality last year.

Utter confidence in his own plan. Utter determination to "ruin" us, his perceived business enemies. Utterly certain that our moves to protect our business were unreasonable, and that his "nuclear" option (it was related to cyber hacking and blackmail) could be pressed without damage to himself.

The issue was, when you step down to their threats, they win and do the same amount of damage they were always going to. You have to tough it out and keep going with this sort of bullying nutter until THEIR plan fails, and accept that any consequence of not acting will be worse than acting.

But that's on the nutter, not on you.

Fakenamefornow · 27/02/2022 16:43

I don't know why Putin didn't just continue with his tactic of Twitter trolls and election meddling. That was going really well for him.

Kassle · 27/02/2022 16:44

Is this a joke? The BBC?!

Over Sky, yes.

guesttest2 · 27/02/2022 16:45

BBC Europe News just now.... Missiles launched into Ukraine from Belarus
Iskander missiles were launched from Belarus into Ukraine around 17:00 (15:00 GMT), an adviser to Ukraine's interior minister says.
It comes after President Zelensky's office announced today that Ukrainian and Russian officials are due to meet for talks on the Belarusian border with Ukraine - although they have not said when.

Magicmelodies21 · 27/02/2022 16:46

@Bedsheets4knickers if the EU leaders are worried I think that is a cause for some concern !! I am truly hoping your lack of worry is correct Brew

WeddingHangover · 27/02/2022 16:50

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation

His face looks very round and bloated now. He's also gained quite a bit of weight elsewhere. This would indicate corticosteroid use. They also cause agitation and aggression in some people.
Maybe he had stopped them and had withdrawal psychosis
elfycat · 27/02/2022 16:50

Can I imagine Brits picking up weapons and fighting - err yes.

There are a lot of retired and ex soldiers for starters. Bearing in mind they only do 22 years there are a load of 'veterans' in their 40s and 50s. One is sitting across from me. OK to be fair he'd probably return to sitting behind the lines and fixing stuff as he sips coffee, but that's because an electronics nerd and his skill set. He never shot at anything alive but had a good aim at the targets. If the targets were after his DC? Yeah...

Bettyboopawoop · 27/02/2022 16:51

I think his own government will turn on him or someone will take him out.

OohRahhMaki · 27/02/2022 16:51

Look, China isn't going to stand by and let Putin set off a bunch of nukes.
No point silently buying up the planet if someone blows it to ashes.
