Try Semantle.

It's like Wordle in that you need to guess the word of the day, but works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, ysterday's word was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I'm currently 840 words away with a similarity of 47%. I started at under 2%.

Anybody else attempting it?

I solved Semantle #27 in 93 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 13.96. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #7. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 23.23 (39/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Got it with my next try! 125 words... Penultimate word at 96 words so took a while to get there. It's very addictive.

I confess I gave up. I was stuck on 992, but looking at the nearest words, I would not have made the leap.

I had to give up today at 994. I was about 50 attempts in but my closest was the 34th. It is a good game though. One for in the evening when I've got a bit more time to waste.

@Ulysses I am stuck on a word which is 14 out of the 1000, so still miles away, but I can't get closer. I'm finding it very frustrating!

I am hoping the more you play the easier it gets to make the leaps. I think I got lucky on my first try yesterday, got it in 44. It's a lot harder than Wordle!

I think so much depends on how you start!

I just made my first guess today and chuffed with 13.08 - I wonder if I’ll get it more quickly than yesterday!
By more quickly I mean fewer guesses as I’ll probably take all day.

I’ve had 30 guesses and can’t get any higher than 18 today.

I was stuck on 999/1000 for ages, and in the end the final step was so obvious!

Oooh I’m liking this but it’s also quite frustrating! I’ve now reached a point where I’m making up words

You guys are so much closer than me! I’m pretty stumped that my closest word 18.28 is a misspelling and scores much higher than the correct spelling!
