Mines fish finger sandwiches or sausage sandwich. For Some reason it has no appeal.
Yet I'd eat a sausage in a bun.

Am I missing that much?

I've never eaten tuna or salmon - the smell 🤮 I've also never had a Big Mac as I don't like the look of them.

DreamsofCheese · 21/02/2022 21:00

Nando's even though I love chicken - it's on the to die list.
Beef Wellington - I want to try it, but I want a good Gordon Ramsey type one so saving it for a special occasion.

Sushi, the look of it makes me feel sick.

Also peanut butter, I don’t know why but it seriously makes me gag when i see it in the cupboard. Shamefully, my 2 year old has never tried it because it makes me queasy Blush

Barbarolo · 21/02/2022 21:02

Avocado
Sushi of any kind
Shellfish
……they just don’t appeal to me yet 😕

MakkaPakkas · 21/02/2022 21:03

I had my first ever KFC this year (I'm 42). I can't believe it's so nice!

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal

I've never had a doner kebab. In my youth everyone wanted to "go for a doner" after a big night out, but it never appealed.

I don't much like Chinese food, so there's loads of stuff on your typical Chinese menu that I've never had. Anything sweet and sour, for example.

I’ve never had a doner kebab either. My adult dc are desperate to get me to try one but even the thought of it makes me feel sick!

RampantIvy · 21/02/2022 21:22

I'm amazed at some of the everyday foods some people haven't even tried. I mean, how on earth do you get to adulthood without ever eating a tomato?

Oh, and sushi is not raw fish.

You know there are mushrooms in a beef Wellington in the duxelles?

Tasty, tasty fungus. GrinGrinGrin

Don’t fancy it and can’t wrap my head around people eating it with blood pissing out of it.

It’s not blood.

Frozenlikeablockofmarble · 21/02/2022 21:31

Bananas. So many people love them. I hate them with a passion. As a child the sight, smell and texture of bananas put me right off.

I was served sliced nana as part of a fruit salad once, by vegan friends back in the 1990s, when it was still pretty unusual to be vegan. I tried my best with it to be polite as they’d gone to a lot of effort with the meal as a whole (and they’d been very kind to me and done me a massive favour) but there wasn’t any cream with it, so it was obvious in the end that I’d eaten the rest of the fruit and left the nana! No way round it! They were kind about it when I explained though, but I still cringe.

I can now add that the taste is as off-putting as the sight, smell and texture!

DH leaned in for a kiss the other day. I turned my face away. He laughed and said “I’d forgotten I’d had a nana half an hour ago.”

Theoldwrinkley · 21/02/2022 21:32

Not me but my hubby doesn't drink any hot drinks....no tea, coffee, chocolate. He did have a swig of tea once in the army because that was the only thing available and he was (literally) freezing. But he loves the smell of coffee. When younger he used to go to the coffee audley in the supermarket and find gge pish coffee packs with the sort of valve that enabled air to come out if you squeezed the bag, and go along the shelf inhaling bag smells. It was like some sort of questionable drug habit.

MostlyNormalSometimesOdd · 21/02/2022 21:49

KFC

GurtBusty · 21/02/2022 21:49

As some others have said, I think I would willingly eat most things mentioned. But there are a few things I've tried once, but would rather not eat again:

  • brains
  • tripe
  • chicken feet
  • Hershey's chocolate
  • fish eyes
  • sweatbreads
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 21/02/2022 21:51

Snails. Just can’t fancy them.

Goatinthegarden · 21/02/2022 22:05

I’ll try most things at least once so I can’t think of anything that people seem to love that I haven’t tried. If someone cooked for me, regardless of what it was, I’d eat it to be polite.

There are plenty of foods I’m not particularly fussed about/could live without, but I’ve never yet found anything I really hate or just couldn’t stomach.

GirlOfTudor · 21/02/2022 23:09
