Glad you tried but will never do again?

Years ago I bungee jumped, an absolutely amazing experience but I will never do that again, too old and too scared now!

Are there any things you're glad you tried but will never do again?

Skiing - spent a week falling over did it for the first time at nearly 40 - never, ever again!

ConstantCougher · 21/02/2022 16:14

Climbing wall. I love scrambling around rocks so thought I'd enjoy it, but it was difficult and tiring and I kept using my arms instead of my legs and the toeholds weren't big enough.

Going down the mine at Beamish. Yes it was very interesting but it was also very uncomfortable. I did it three times and then nobly volunteered to stand in the massive queue for fish and chips instead.

Laser tag. My aim is appalling.

mrschocolatte · 21/02/2022 16:28

@Livebythecoast It was Hayling Island. I feel bad saying that as I know so many people who love the place. But it was so grim. I know of the Pontins in Camber though! I stayed in a holiday rental near there once. It looked not fun.

emuloc · 21/02/2022 16:34

Eating stilton cheese, staying in a caravan camp site.

GeneLovesJezebel · 21/02/2022 16:35

Staying in a static caravan.

Livebythecoast · 21/02/2022 16:37

@mrschocolatte - ah okay - at least you know about Pontins though so won't repeat your experience by going there too! The reviews are an entertaining read ! - Camber is lovely and not too far from me but how Pontins manages to stay open is a mystery to me.

@hilbil21

Skydive. Good at the time but wouldn't make a habit of it! No problems with jumping out a plane but I felt really ill with motion sickness on the way down Grin
I was exactly the same and have never heard anyone say this before!
Joolsin · 21/02/2022 16:40

The Saw rollercoaster at Thorpe Park. DH said he could actually feel his brain knocking off the inside of his skull. DS chickened out at the last second - he was wiser than both of his parents.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 21/02/2022 16:40

Go Ape. Never again.

I've seen several people say this and it is worrying me a bit because I am going on it (with DS) in a couple of weeks.

What was so awful about it?

Enko · 21/02/2022 16:41

Ran the London marathon

LazyDoll · 21/02/2022 16:42

Center Parcs. At least I now know I am missing nothing by NEVER going again.

ineedsun · 21/02/2022 16:45

Skiing here too.

TellySavalashairbrush · 21/02/2022 16:46

New York- more expensive and dirtier version of London .

Body massage- made me feel nauseous for some reason.

Sushi- can’t appreciate it like so many others do.

Burgerqueenbee · 21/02/2022 16:50

Peanut butter on a burger.
Like a pp visiting Turkey but I was on an all inclusive with my in laws for 10 days. I like my in laws but 10 days was too long.

MsFannySqueers · 21/02/2022 16:52

Oysters!

rifling · 21/02/2022 16:57

Hang gliding. I really enjoyed it and wasn't scared (weird as I AM scared of flying in an actual plane) but it made me feel so motion sick.

MangoLipstick · 21/02/2022 17:00

Another one saying Glastonbury.

Whilst it was awesome in many ways & I’m glad I experienced it, it was also very tiring, I hardly slept, camping in a muddy field, surrounded by litter and people pissing next to your tent wasn’t great.

Porthia · 21/02/2022 17:08

Laser eye surgery. I am so glad I had it done but also would not want to repeat the experience.

Also as pp, skiing. Jumping off the top diving board, driving a moped around Thailand.

Not mad keen on doing pregnancy and birth again either (no plans to do so)

Probably more….

MrsE · 21/02/2022 17:15

Skiing
Camping
Go Ape
Climbing Waynu Picchu nearly killed me but worth the view

CrimbleCrumble1 · 21/02/2022 17:17

High ropes thing at Centre Parcs
Wagamama, back ache benches and I didn’t like the food.

Lesperance · 21/02/2022 17:22

Ziplining. Visiting Morocco.

godmum56 · 21/02/2022 17:23

Joining in with the social circle at my husband's workplace. he got promoted to a level when dinner parties and the social circle were seen as the expected thing and doubly expected if you wanted advancement. We went to about 3 events, looked at each other and went "ok we tried" DH was "warned by a friend" that he had to join in.....we didn't and it never affected his promotion by one iota. The "friend" who warned him ended up in prison for fraud with 3 others from the circle!

Camping
I used to love back garden camping. We would lie in the tent looking up at the stars and sharing champagne......clean private loo within easy reach :) Can't do it now, my knees and back won;t let me and OH died.
