Flightradar 24 storm watchers

So we've got Dudley today and tomorrow and Eunice on Friday so thought I'd start a thread. Dudley has barely hit here in Edinburgh and already there's a flight from LHR struggling to land.

I think a Jet2 flight from Antalya has just had to abort a landing at Manchester. I’m not surprised, the gusts are fierce here at the moment. Poor people Sad

Looks like the Antalya flight has aborted at Mcr. The Fuerteventura flight just having a crack now. Torrential rain and a bit of sleet here in the NW - it’s a wonder they can see a thing.

LGW is down. LHR next. Stanstead just aborted.

Where on earth are they landing the Tenerife / Leeds flights? Dropping altitude but nowhere near the airport.

I don't really understand it but sounds interesting. I know they're highly trained but cor the pressure on the pilots nights like tonight must be immense.

Glad to hear from a pp that the add extra fuel when knowing there is a storm as I know budget airlines generally fly with as little as they think they can get away with

TBF all airlines (certainly UK/EU/US) including the budget outfits airlines tend to have a policy of not carrying excess fuel (i.e. more fuel than required, which includes legal buffers) if there is no obvious need to load more on ..

Just landing in Birmingham. Not the ideal end to your holiday (although there are worse alternatives)

I have never heard of this before. It is quite mesmerising watching all the planes. Could be quite addictive

Ohh imagine being the pilot, they can’t be confident when it comes to landing in this weather. I’m near Leeds Bradford too!
