So we've got Dudley today and tomorrow and Eunice on Friday so thought I'd start a thread. Dudley has barely hit here in Edinburgh and already there's a flight from LHR struggling to land.

There are 2 more of those little blue planes off the Northumberland coast too

They’re all military planes on night exercise.

What map/site are you looking at to see that BabbleBee?

LVS052 has changed again to GRYHK01, and has almost 20k watchers. It seems to have wandered off of its own flight path though, very strange.

roarfeckingroarr · 17/02/2022 20:09

There's one on that picture called ugly1!

roarfeckingroarr · 17/02/2022 20:11

How do you find most watched ?

ErrolTheDragon · 17/02/2022 20:19

@MayBeeMee

It’s changed code to LVS052. And looks like it took off from a Bond lair in the sea near Sicily!
Could there be an aircraft carrier there?
MayBeeMee · 17/02/2022 20:20

Under the search box (on ipad) on FR24 is a short grey line, swipe down on it to see the top 5 most watched planes.

MayBeeMee · 17/02/2022 20:22

Good thinking Errol, what we need is a map with all the sea and air transport overlaid!

CaveMum · 17/02/2022 20:27

There’s an RAF helicopter passing over Thetford Forest in Norfolk with a call sign “UGLY1” Grin

Thank you for that! I knew there must be a way to see the most tracked but really couldn't find it!
rc22 · 17/02/2022 20:28

What have you all done to me? Forget social media or Netflix. Flight radar is my new obsession Confused

ShockI've had FR for bloody years and never spotted that! Thank you!
Charliesgotachocolatefactory · 17/02/2022 20:30

Lone Typhoon doing loops round the Cairngorms, not the nicest night for it!

notimagain · 17/02/2022 20:36

The Air Traffic system is starting to get warmed up for the AM.

Eurocontrol have just issued storm info, C&P of that below, some editing for brevity and I have changed some abbreviations/airport ICAO codes into plain language:

Yourcatisnotsorry · 17/02/2022 20:39

We just got diverted Shock it wasn’t so bad as there was no turbulence while flying and the new airport was very close to the original. Nobody had connecting flights thankfully as it was a small regional airport but I imagine it was very Annoying for those who had arranged pick ups/left their cars at the planned airport.

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 17/02/2022 20:40

Interesting about Heathrow not accepting diversions - I think that was mentioned last night.

Thank you to our resident expert Thanks

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 17/02/2022 20:42

Now wondering who is aboard the Cessna Citation from Dallas to St Augustine? (2nd most watched) and what does 7700 in red type mean?

Magicmum101 · 17/02/2022 20:43

Thanks for the update @notimagain my Venice flight is confidently sayings it’s leaving on time tomorrow morning but I can’t imagine it will.

DIFleming · 17/02/2022 20:49

Come across this chat and had a peek at Flightradar24 - I'm hooked!!

Think I've found myself a new hobby! Smile

7700 is the emergency squawk (code) so there is a problem of some sort.
TomAllenWife · 17/02/2022 21:00

Does anyone know how I work out where my plane is flying in from tomorrow? Before we get on it?

Whatadayyyy · 17/02/2022 21:01

Just looking at the most watched flights, what is the First one does anyone know? Watching it on the map it looks like it keeps going backwards and the route is all over the place?

paradyning · 17/02/2022 21:06

How do you see the most watched??

Small airport with not a lot of flights you might be able to work it out by looking at the arrivals planned an hour or so before you are due to depart..or use flight radar and replay todays arrivals…

OTOH if it is a big airport with lots of aircraft going in/out with the same operator it’s hard to do without inside info…
