So we've got Dudley today and tomorrow and Eunice on Friday so thought I'd start a thread. Dudley has barely hit here in Edinburgh and already there's a flight from LHR struggling to land.

@ajandjjmum

Tiny little Cessna (Caravan!!!?) coming in to Birmingham. Bet that's been blown about.
Can you see the cesna?? I was tracking it, i tapped another plane passing next to it as they seemed too close and then the cessna disappeared!
timetochangeusername · 16/02/2022 22:41

There's a Liverpool to Leeds (?!!) plane that's just aborted an attempt at Leeds I think - was 3 mins to landing now 19.

ajandjjmum · 16/02/2022 22:42

@OogieBoogiePoinsettiaPlant No - it literally disappeared from my screen.

Please let me know how I can do this too? I have flight radar! Do I need to pay the subscription? How do I get in on the action?

ErrolTheDragon · 16/02/2022 22:43

It seemed to be stationary some way off the airport and then the symbol disappeared. Hopefully a glitch in the app.

I don't think it aborted, it's never been close. It just seems to be struggling to get there.

That's the flight diverted from LBA to Liverpool earlier, I think.

notimagain · 16/02/2022 22:43

@Hiyawotcha

An AMS/LGW easyJet showing as diverted to….Amsterdam?!
It's a fast game tonight..

Diverting back to point of origin sometimes isn't the worse idea in the world..for a lot of passengers it means they get back to their cars/ back home to their own beds for tonight and then have another go tomorrow.

P.S. Is that Ryanair heading into Leeds from Liverpool the earlier diversion..I've lost track?

liveforsummer · 16/02/2022 22:45

The little planes sometimes disappear below a certain altitude they don't seem to have such sophisticated tracking. If they don't reappear it means they have landed.

@NoWordForFluffy ah thanks I'm a newbie to this . Wondered why you'd fly Liverpool to Leeds!

Newrunner29 · 16/02/2022 22:46

I watched Leeds from Liverpool Land just now

liveforsummer · 16/02/2022 22:48

@Applausefromtheback no subscription needed. Just click on the plane symbols. You'll
See where they've come from and where they are going so will know what people on here are specifically talking about plus you can follow your own too. You can zoom and expand. The world is literally your oyster but just now mid and west uk is where the action is at.

I'm glad you've told me that because I've just lost another little one coming towards Birmingham from Porto. I was beginning to worry!
timetochangeusername · 16/02/2022 22:49

Just found an amsterdam to Luton diverting to Amsterdam

Thanks, I was hoping it was something like that!
Newrunner29 · 16/02/2022 22:49

The amount of information about the planes and the airports are amazing!

Newrunner29 · 16/02/2022 22:50

Is amazing

MoreThanJustANumber · 16/02/2022 22:52

Not heard of this app until this thread, now spent the last couple of hours watching planes! What fun.

Currently following an air ambulance from a hospital near Bristol. Wouldn't fancy being in a helicopter in this weather!

Charliesgotachocolatefactory · 16/02/2022 22:57

I would not be delighted to be on that wee Loganair out of Edinburgh to East Mids…🤢

spudjulia · 16/02/2022 22:57

@Leftbutcameback

Am I missing something? I can just see the plane symbols which you click on for info. How do you get the info about planes bobbling about etc?
Click on the icon for the plane? You can see the route they've taken so far on the map, as well as speed and altitude (in bottom right corner on my device). Just watch it come in to land!
