What easy things are you just shit at?

It's ridiculous. I'm a 37 year old woman. I have 2 kids, a job I love. I function reasonably well!

I cannot butter bread. I make a complete mess of it. Holes in the bread etc. I can't blame it on hard butter because I use marg.

I'm ill and bored. Please make me feel better by telling me the "easy" things you're shit at.

Should also add I also kill plants and have crap directional skills! (Will iterate again I’m still clearly the village idiot) ..

Omelettes. I end up with scrambled egg or a fried egg-thing. Disaster. Otherwise a competent cook.

I'm so impressed! Will never again heat the oil before frying an egg. I always wondered how people made them without crispy edges.

Cannot wink for the life of me so I do a reverse wink at my kids (I don't actually wink at anybody but I'd like to be able to do it). I did practice on my dogs for years, can't do it.

Tying shoe laces, takes ages. Frying eggs, they always get smashed up and overdone.

I find if you put them in cold water for five minutes or so straight after boiling and then peel them it’s a lot easier.

Cutting cakes evenly.
Frying an egg without it taking over the pan.
Catching (pretty much anything except colds).
Reverse parking.
Understanding the diagrams in instruction manuals - give me actual words any time.
Gauging quantities correctly when cooking.

Making friends with school mums.

It used to bother me until I realised that I didn't even like them so why waste my energy.

I'm awful at making friends in general. I think I have, then I discover the rest of them have a group chat that I'm not invited to or something similar.

Not entirely in the spirit of my own thread. 🤷‍♀️

I can't bake for shit. Cooking is easy-peasy for me and I am pretty good at it, but once I need to follow a recipe I just can't do it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Zero sense of direction.

Cannot open up plastic bags - the sides stick together and I cannot unstick them (this is pre-plastic bag ban)

I find it hard to sign my own signature. If I think too hard about it, I will totally screw up. The only good thing is it is difficult to forge (when I get it right).

I cannot make meringes. No stiff peaks for me.

Cannot blow dry my hair properly. My hairdresser cannot believe I have not got with it after decades.

Cannot do eye make up properly. Everything slides off my greasy eyelids.

Same! Can't make friends. I am really chatty and nice but people just don't seem to like me.

Also! Cannot poach an egg. Has that. Even said haha

With cling film, you have to tear it off when you are standing up. I seem to remember Nigella giving that piece of legendary advice. But only if you last used the cling film box. If anyone else uses it and leaves it disorganised then you won't stand z chance.

Cannot make a decent Yorkshire pudding to save my life, god knows I've tried!
