@73kittycat73 I’ll probably work about 15 hours this week. Next week when I’m taking some time off I’ll do about five!

PaperMonster · 05/04/2022 16:46

One of my clients gave me an Easter egg this week, which I shall eat and enjoy!

A few years ago I had an op and went from a size 12/14 to a size 10/12 as I couldn’t eat properly for a long time. I bought some jeans size 12 which were very comfy - have put them on today and they’re enormous! Really big! All this walking’s doing something!!

73kittycat73 · 06/04/2022 20:35

Did somebody say lower carb eggs?! Grin
Glad your appointment went so well BorderlineHappy. It always helps to know you've been listened to too doesn't it? Do you know how long you've got to wait for your results?
I had the nurse round yesterday to take some bloods. The receptionist phoned me earlier and bless her, she was really trying to not worry me! lol But it was asking if I could have another blood test in twelve weeks time for my thyroid function. I'm not worried. My nan had an underactive thyroid, as does my mum. They also did this last year. First bloods was borderline, second lots of blood were OK apparently. lol Aww, nice NSV there PaperMonster! Star It's nice to see your efforts pay off isn't it? Keeps you motivated. Are you saving your egg for Easter Sunday, or are you going to indulge this week? Grin
My nieces don't break up until this Friday either WreckTangled.
Have had an up and down week. We've decided we definitely want to move. Mum had a run in with the neighbour on Monday, he threatened her but she was on her own. (Real big man ah? Angry ) I was so upset that I ate lots of low cal choc bars. Saw a property a few days ago and it was the size of a postage stamp. I thought my flat was tiny but this one...! Got all excited again today as found a property near by. Have a veiwing booked for next week. I was so excited I was window shopping wardrobes online. However, I've had a better look at the photos (On Rightmove.) and from the windows it looks like it's at least first floor. We need ground as my mum has two mobility scooters that need charging by being plugged into the electric. Sad I was so excited...

@73kittycat73 I’d been wondering how your search for a new home was getting on. Neighbour sounds a right charmer Hmm

Am saving my egg for Easter weekend! I also have a choccy animal (can’t remember what - not a bunny though) that daughter got me for Mother’s Day!

Been for a swim today and managed backstroke much better than last time. My arm just feels a bit weak when doing it, and it is normally my favourite stroke.

BorderlineHappy · 07/04/2022 15:35

Ah im doing fine @73kittycat73 my app is next week for the bloods. So hopefully wont be waiting too long on results.
Also have my new hearing Aid next week.

A women collapsed in front of the car the other day.
She landed really awkward,i got out and tried to get her up.Then 2 other women came and gave me a hand.

My dp gave her water, and we drove her home.
I really hope she was ok.

PaperMonster · 07/04/2022 16:28

Oh my @BorderlineHappy what a shock. I hope she is ok too.

Officially fed up of this weather. Tomorrow was supposed to be sunny all day - now forecast for rain in the afternoon and I’m working in the morning. Dragging the child out for a walk regardless though! Says showers so not the torrents we’ve had today!

73kittycat73 · 07/04/2022 18:50

Yep, definitely still looking PaperMonster. If only I could win The Lottery and buy my own house...Smile Good that your arm feels better when swimming. I hope you enjoy your eggs. Smile I'm continuing to diet next week, but the weekend is off! We're having a chippy tea on Saturday night and our Eggs on Sunday. Can't wait! lol I doubt I will lose that week though and that is OK. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Good luck with your walk tomorrow, I hope it isn't too wet for you! We've not had rain today but really bad wind again.
Aww, sounds really good about getting your hearing aid BorderlineHappy. I hope that it helps lots. Smile Sounds like you had a bit of a shock there about the lady falling down. You and your husband were really nice to her. It's nice to know there are people around like you both. Flowers

I need your collective wisdom ladies. (Have tried Googling and all sorts came up.) I've had my Hba1c results, they were
33mmol/mol
Is that in remission? Like lower than the score for getting diabetes?
I don't know whether or not to phone the doc and ask for some of my meds to be stopped. (I take 3 different types at the moment.).
Thank you for any help. Smile
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. My nice and brother popped round yesterday. They are also coming round and joining in with our chippy tea next week. Smile

My niece, not nice, lol.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 10/04/2022 18:05

That's brilliant! I would probably only look at reducing them if you're experiencing hypos or hypo symptoms. It's definitely at a remission level l but I think you have to have two results in a row plus it could be the medication enabling those reasons, which is great.

I went out for dinner last night and stayed at perfect levels. It was Turkish so I just had chicken kebab and salad. Oh and halloumi starter. glass of wine too which always helps my levels over night

73kittycat73 · 11/04/2022 11:32

Thanks WreckTangled, I don't think it's the medication as I have been on it a few years now. (I found the result on a patient medical record thing, that had all my results on there. My highest was 78mmol! Shock ) When I have taken my BS it has been very low. I'll try and make a phone appointment to speak to the Dr I think. Thanks for the info/advice though. Smile
Glad you enjoyed your dinner out and managed to say OK. That's some skill! Smile
I weighed in today, I've put on a pound. Must have eaten more low cal chocolate bars than I thought. Sad

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 11/04/2022 20:29

That’s a brilliant result @73kittycat73!! Well done!

I’ve been on a course all weekend, sitting down a lot so has aggravated my hip then there have been some physical activities which have aggravated my arm. They’ll both feel much better when I’m being more active!!

Won some chocolates at a quiz at weekend too, eaten half of them! The other half is for my daughter as she was on the team!

73kittycat73 · 12/04/2022 19:53

Thank you PaperMonster. Smile Haven't got through to the GP yet but will keep trying.
Ouch, sorry to hear about your hip and arm. Well done on the quiz and winning some chocolate! Smile

PaperMonster · 12/04/2022 20:36

Having said bath to ease my achey bits. Using some bath salts I got for my birthday - and they’re burning my bum Blush

73kittycat73 · 13/04/2022 11:26

Ouch, poor bottom! lol I hope it's not too sore. Did they help you hip and arm at all though?
I had a bit of a pig out last night. It's lucky I haven't talked to anyone about adjusting my meds yet. Blush I ate a load of yogurts and all my low cal chocolate bars (About 6-8) then found a brownie cake in the freezer left over from Christmas so ate half of that. Felt sick after though. lol
I'm going to weigh in on Monday then rejoin Myfitnesspal and see how many calories a day I need in order to lose 1lb a week. It'll take me to November to lose the weight I want that way, but surely it's got to be more sustainable? I was on 1200 a day, but after 9 weeks of it I'm slipping. Hopefully 1lb a week will be a lot easier. (The only reason my brothers egg survived last night is because I couldn't get another one before Sunday! lol)

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 13/04/2022 16:53

I don't think 1200 is enough for anyone. My fitness pal gives 1200 to everyone and the trouble is it is over restricting which leads to binging so you eat back all the calories you've under consumed.

PaperMonster · 13/04/2022 18:06

When I was on MFP it told me to eat 1400 - but actually I was eating about 1200 but not losing any weight. It was actually only when I was eating 600-800 that I lost any. Not that I recommend that few but I had an op and physically couldn’t eat any solids for a long time.

My bottom is fine thank you! Strange thing to happen though! Need to put less in next time and see what happens! But it has helped arm and hip and I had a fabulous night’s sleep!

BorderlineHappy · 14/04/2022 08:52

How's everyone this fine morning.

Off to get my 2nd hearing aid.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Got my bloods done yesterday.

And I haven't had a drink in over a week.
And I can feel the difference.
Not as tired and I'm feeling much brighter.

Started back cc'ing today.
@73kittycat73
How are you today 😊

@PaperMonster how's the bum today,😂

73kittycat73 · 14/04/2022 19:09

Hi WreckTangled and PaperMonster (Glad you at least had a good night and no more trouble with your bottom! Grin ). Looks like I will be on 1200 for a while. I tired a MyFitnessPal, this TDEE calculator and the NHS course I'm doing and they all said to lose at least a pound a week I should be on 1200-1250 cals. Sad I'm planning on starting again on Sunday. Today has been really bad. I ate my Easter egg and the two packets of Minstrels that came with it, and half a cheesecake. Blush I felt sick much more quickly than before, that's why I only ate half, lol. I'll have my chippy tea, and a piece of cake (Nieces birthday) on Saturday then start again the next day. Will weigh in then too to check what damage has been done.
I hope you both have a lovely Easter weekend, any plans?
Hi BorderlineHappy, how did getting you hearing aid gone? Really well done on not drinking all week, that's mega! Star Glad you are already feeling the benefits. Smile 'CCing' calorie counting? Good luck, I really wish you well with it. I found out that chocolate really influences my mood. If I eat a lot my thoughts the next day are so much more depressed ones. Does anybody else notice that?

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 15/04/2022 15:01

@73kittycat73 ah my hearing aid is great, such a difference.
Im only using it for really busy places like shops. But i wore it yesterday, felt weird but good.

1200 seems really low to start with.
Im the same with chocolate once i start i cant stop.
Its terrible.
I have no advice but i hope you succeed.

73kittycat73 · 15/04/2022 19:14

So glad it's made a difference. Smile Is it an over ear one? I have one but don't wear it because it makes my ear sore after a while (I know they say to keep wearing as you'll get used to it but I don't want to. :p )
I've eaten loads again today, I don't know why I do it. Well, to be honest I do. It makes me feel good when I eat it. Not so much at all after though!

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 15/04/2022 19:35

Hello all! Good to hear the hearing aid makes a difference @BorderlineHappy!

Bottom doing ok Grin it was bath salts with mint, grapefruit and something I’d never heard of in them - bet it was the mint that was burny!!

Been to the zoo today - daughter very happy! Walked about six miles. Am exhausted now, which is weird when I normally walk that amount in a day!

I ate my Easter Egg last night - I just felt the chocolate calling to me!!

73kittycat73 · 18/04/2022 19:58

Hello everyone. Smile How are you all doing? I went totally off the rails last week and put on 4lbs in the process! Shock I've been back on it since yesterday morning though. I wonder if the craving for sweet stuff will ever go?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 19/04/2022 20:17

I don’t think it does ever go! Back to work today, love being off but enjoy being back in the swing of things too!

73kittycat73 · 23/04/2022 11:21

How did it go being back to work? How is your arm and hip? I hope you are doing OK.
What do you all think of the new site? I think it's OK, apart from chucking me out every time I tried using the new emojis the other day, and that you can't bump and reset in 'I'm Watching,' yet.
Well, I don't know what's happened but the scales must have surely been wrong last week or this week. I stepped on the scales a number of times last week, and moved them and got 12st 11.2lbs. I had chocolate yesterday and too any yogurts so decided to draw a line under it, weigh myself today and get back on it. Scales today said, after 2 goes, 12st 6.2lbs! There's no way I lost 5lbs this week! lol I shall take it though. So I either didn't gain as much last week, or lost more than I thought this week. I think the latter is more apt. Never mind, it's a win! Grin
