@73kittycat73 does your niece like doughnuts? I can recommend good doughnut delivery!!

I had cake. There is still cake. I also had meringue when I went out for a meal. So I have gone a bit sugar crazy!! Am hoping that the 46 miles I’ve walked this week helps to lower the sugar levels!!

Well done both @WreckTangled and @73kittycat73 on being more disciplined than me this week!

Hello to @gelert5619 - sorry I think I might have missed posts from you!

Lovely spring weather here for the next few days, hurrah!

BorderlineHappy · 05/03/2022 17:46

@WreckTangled Of course you did,one for each hand😂

PaperMonster · 05/03/2022 20:37

Oh I love McD hash browns!! Not had them for years!

73kittycat73 · 06/03/2022 19:19

Hello everyone. Smile I'll whatsapp her on Tuesday (Insert day so she has the day off.) and ask her. 46 miles?! Shock Well done you! We all go a bit sugar crazy at times...Grin New week tomorrow so new start ah?
Hi BorderlineHappy. Good going on the foot department. Star They grow so quickly don't they? I was looking at a picture of me and my niece from when she was a toddler (13 next month!) and saw I was obese then too. Realized I had been that way for all of her life! Another reason for spurring me on...Good luck for Monday. Do you have a plan? Low carb, or calorie counting, etc?
Oh WreckTangled, two hash browns? Yum! Grin

73kittycat73 · 06/03/2022 19:22

Sorry, didn't make much sense there did I? I meant I'll WhatsApp about the doughnuts PaperMonster, and not that feet grow so quickly, BorderlineHappy I meant kids/grandkids! Grin lol

Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend! Busy week coming up for me as usual!

gelert5619 · 07/03/2022 10:37

Hi you lovely lot. It's good to have such kindness, thanks muchly.
I've gone to the theatre a couple of times recently and have had McDonalds to offset cost of tickets, that's my excuse! Last week I had to have a double big Mac meal, limited time available. Didn't I feel stuffed!! Was worth it though. Been reasonably good since.

73kittycat73 · 07/03/2022 19:25

Lol gelert5619 Who can resist a good McDonalds?! Grin
It was ok thanks PaperMonster, yours? My nieces came round for a bit.
How's today gone for you BorderlineHappy?
Hope you're ok too WreckTangled?
Well, weighed this morning...and was quite gutted. I lost about 2lbs. I had started exercising last week too. I thought that would help drop the weight. I've also only lost 2" from my chest, and 1" each from my waist and hips. I know I should be glad I lost at all, but can't help being a bit gutted.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 07/03/2022 19:44

I think having a weekly weigh in can be deceptive. Tomorrow you might weigh another 1lb or more less, so many different variables affect scale weight you really shouldn't get disheartened about one result, it's the overall trend that matters and yours shows it's going down!

73kittycat73 · 08/03/2022 11:30

Thank you WreckTangled. Smile I really appreciate you taking the time to write that.
Been busy yesterday and today. House hunting. The downstairs neighbour has decided to be a prick again and we've had enough, we are looking into moving. I've been online and on the phone a lot. There's one that's going to be posted up later on Rightmove that I'm interested in looking at. The area is fine, I just hope the property is!

BorderlineHappy · 08/03/2022 16:30

Ah im feeling really down today,i dont know why.

Feels like its a constant uphill struggle.

73kittycat73 · 09/03/2022 03:21

Sorry you are feeling that way BorderlineHappy Flowers Have you received your new hearing aid yet? Is it possibly peri, or menopause related? (Sorry, don't know how old you are?) I'm up at 3am here as I can't sleep because of the menopause! I saw a bit of a programme with Davina McCall on tv earlier and never new that joint pain, brain fog and insomnia were also symptoms of menopause! I have two mattress toppers and one folded quilt on my bed and still wake up with aching hips. The brain fog I thought was due to having the covid jab. I can literally be mid sentence and forget what I was talking about! Anyway, contacted my Gp last week about the hot flushes and have a Dr calling me today (Wednesday) about it. I'm awake as I keep going over in my mind what I want to talk about with her.
That and the fact it's exercise day tomorrow (Doing a couch to Bhangra and didn't realize it's three times a week and not every day! lol) and I keep thinking I'll be too tired to do it if I don't get enough sleep...
|Anyway, I really hope you feel better tomorrow. talk away if you need too. Flowers

BorderlineHappy · 09/03/2022 06:39

No hearing aid just yet @73kittycat73.
And I hear you bout the menapause
I can't remember half the words now.
Stopping mid sentence 😂.

Insomnia has to be the worst thing ever.
Really saps your energy.
Write down what you want to say to your GP.
You won't get flustered and forget anything.

Make shakshuksa this morning.
Turned out nice enough but could do with more spice.

I'm starting to realize I really lack self confidence.
I'm supposed to be going to volunteer in a cats aid today but I don't think I can face it.
My confidence is at rock bottom.
Hope it goes well with the Dr later.

73kittycat73 · 09/03/2022 10:13

Hi. Smile Drs receptionist phoned, they have to move the appointment to next Wednesday due to staff shortages. Angry I know it can't be helped but...Gggrr. lol
What's a 'shakshuksa'? Sounds nice and spicy. (I love the flavour of spice, my tongue just can't handle the heat! )
Good luck if you do your volunteering, is that at a shelter, or charity shop? I hope you really enjoy it if you go. Flowers

BorderlineHappy · 09/03/2022 11:16

It's a middle Eastern dish of peppers, onions, garlic and you crack eggs in it and cook it.

73kittycat73 · 09/03/2022 18:59

Sounds nice. Smile How are you doing now? I hope you are feeling better. I got very, very wound up earlier but I let myself feel angry and it's passed now. I don't usually do that, just stuff it down, but feel better now so glad I didn't. (My mum, bless her..Hmm We've decided that we are going to move into a new place together to get away from our nuisance neighbour. I have been contacting estate agents all week, checking out all the web sites. She pipes up today that there's a house to let at the end of the road to let. I go get the estate agents number and phone it to be told it's gone. On hearing this mum pipes up with, 'I suppose I should have told you Monday when I first saw it.'...Angry!!!! It would have been perfect too!)
I hope all the other lovely posters on this thread are doing OK too? Smile

PaperMonster · 09/03/2022 19:46

Hello all. Sorry to hear you sounding so down @BorderlineHappy. Sending you a virtual hug xxx

That’s frustrating about the house @73kittycat73. Mums, eh?!

I’ve had a busy few days and am just relaxing in my (new) bath. I have a dodgy hip - osteoarthritis. I invested in a new mattress last year which has been good! I sleep with a cushion between my knees which helps. And all this walking does wonders for it!

73kittycat73 · 09/03/2022 19:52

She just phoned me then because she didn't know how to work her (Landline) phone...Hmm It's the taking on the mental load as well as the physical one that's getting to me...And breathe...Smile Normal service shall now resume. I'm off to do some more knitting in a minute. I'm really in the mood for it tonight.
New bath? Ooh, classy. Grin I hope you enjoyed your soak. You just reminded me. The new place we are looking for must have a bath. My current flat is tiny and only has room for a shower. I used to love a good bath! I haven't had one in over 10 years...Glad your mattress helps! Getting comfy and a good night sleep really helps doesn't it?

Hope everyone is well today.
I went to a Womens Shed today.I was so nervous.
But everyone was in the same boat and it was so lovely o be out and about again.

I have also phoned about getting my CV updated. So im waiting for her to ring me back.

I realised theres no point moaning,im going to have to do things for myself. If i want change.

@73kittycat73
Hopefully you get moved soon.Neighbours are the pits...

@PaperMonster and her new bath I want a bath now.I miss it so much.

WreckTangled · 10/03/2022 14:17

Everyone needs a moan sometimes Thanks

I'm doing so badly with my eating I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm just addicted to chocolate Blush I need to go cold turkey.

73kittycat73 · 10/03/2022 19:54

I tried Googling 'Woman's shed,' and you can imagine what came up! lol Grin What's that then? I've never heard of it before. I'm glad it's helping you though. Smile
Thanks WreckTangled. Smile Sorry you are finding you diet hard. The only way I manage it is to not have any chocolate in. I appreciate though you can get out and about and can be more tempted by going into shops and stuff and actually seeing chocolate there.
Is it possibly linked to your cycle?
I did read a while ago, (On Instagram I think) that it's not motivation that helps, as that comes and goes. It's determination. I don't know if that helps you?
Very good luck to you though, when you're ready, you'll do it. Smile Flowers

Ha it's basically women meeting up for a natter and a coffee.
There will be days out, and other things.

I've no idea why it's called a shed.

There's men's sheds so obviously just doing the women's version.

73kittycat73 · 11/03/2022 10:51

Oh I see. Smile Sounds great! They sound really supportive. I imagine it would be nice to pop in for a chat and tea/coffee. Smile
