If anyone else wants to send an email! I sent it to the wrong address initially...[/quote]
Thank you. Least I can do to try and show public opinion around this style of politics. Still waiting for a response from my own Tory MP though...

@52andblue this is the section.

I just stated that I found it an untrue and unwarranted attack and asked if Mr Johnson would face any consequences.

I was very tempted to rant on about kicking people out for calling BJ a liar but not reacting that, but I went for simplicity and specifically requesting a response about what (if any) the consequences were...

merrymouse · 31/01/2022 22:09

I appreciate that no one else can tell me how to express how I feel but I didn't hear the original remark and I'm not very confident about how to put it?

1). It’s a lie. There is no evidence that Starmer obstructed prosecution of Saville

2). The British public deserved contrition and remorse today. It was not appropriate for Johnson to make completely irrelevant references to Jimmy Saville.

52andblue · 31/01/2022 22:15

@hotdogsjumpingfrogs

thank you for that link.
@Rinoachicken had described it to me but somehow it is even more shocking in the flesh as it were.

I've just manged 2 paras. I began by thanking SLHoyle for doing a good job as speaker (I think he has). I said that I understood that there were conventions to be followed, even in a heated debate & ref Blackford today. Then I said that I thought Johnsons remarks were appalling - irrelevant to the debate today and a vile reference to one of the worst paedophiles in recent UK history, in a thin attempt to smear the ex DPP. I said I wished that SLHoyle had been able to call Johnson out on it at the time. I will ask why not and add that I would like to know how my objection will be recorded.

thank you for the link. I hope 2 short paras is not too much but (perhaps particularly as a survivor of CSA?) but I feel absolutely incensed about this.

@BruceAndNosh

When Johnson (repeatedly) declined to comment on if he was at 13th May gathering in his own flat, someone asked "who do you need to check with, if you're not sure?"

Can we expect him to be contacting the police to.report that someone broke into his home and held a party that neither he or his wife attended?

I hope his wife realises that he will have no compunction about pushing her under a bus rather than admit he was there or take any blame himself....

Theresa May was spot on. No emotional diatribes but simply asked the only question that really mattered. Hats off to her.

GreenLunchBox · 31/01/2022 22:58

I just emailed the speaker of the house [email protected]
for removing Ian Blackford for telling the truth. It seems the PM can tell as many lies as he likes but people are removed for highlighting them, even when there is clear evidence.

This country is now a laughingstock

AlexaShutUp · 31/01/2022 23:02

I also emailed the speaker tonight to ask what he is going to do to improve parliamentary standards, highlighting the fact that Blackford got kicked out for telling the truth about Boris misleading parliament, while Boris didn't face any consequences for making up shit about Keir Starmer.

Come back TM, all is forgiven. I can't dance either. I wish we had somebody who's only misdemeanor was running through wheat fields. Kudos to you for staying on the back benches and holding this cretin to account.

Funny how she's not disappeared to the after dinner circuit like all the men. Maybe she actually cared about politics? Or is it that she wouldn't be as sought after like the men. That's another thread, though. Bojo will no doubt be the most successful/most lucrative post PM speaker ever. Makes me sick to my stomach. What a world we live in.

AlexaShutUp · 31/01/2022 23:06

I have no doubt that Theresa May actually cared. I never agreed with her politics but I could see at the time that she was at least motivated by a sense of duty. I believe that she did what she thought was right, even though I often thought she was wrong.

I'm glad that she held Boris to account in Parliament today. Good for her.

JacquelineCarlyle · 31/01/2022 23:07

Totally agree @AlexaShutUp

AlexaShutUp · 31/01/2022 23:09

Gordon Brown has made quite a lot of money on the after dinner circuit, I believe, but it's my understanding that he donates it all to good causes. I think he really cared too.

@YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie

The death stare on Priti Patel!
Yes!
GreenLunchBox · 31/01/2022 23:13

Why does Bojo have this 'star quality'? What is it about him?

My kids say " leave Boris alone" when I moan about the state we're in. They think he's hilarious. They follow politics and I'm sure it's because it's so 'entertaining' these days. They are teens.

There is no way a fat, unkept middle aged woman, even before taking into account his horrible reputation, would have the sway Bojo holds on the people, including his party.

Why do women line up to bear his children?

What the fuck?

WHAT ACTUALLY IS IT?!

skodadoda · 31/01/2022 23:13

Local Conservative Associations are not supporting him, he has to be on his way to ‘spend more time with his family’. But which one?

Thirtytimesround · 31/01/2022 23:14

This is awesome:

merrymouse · 31/01/2022 23:15

When Boris Johnson tells Aaron Bell that he should ‘wait for the conclusion of the enquiry’ it’s so obvious that he couldn’t care less. He just sounds bored and irritated.

merrymouse · 31/01/2022 23:17

WHAT ACTUALLY IS IT?!

Low self esteem?

Signed. Thanks for sharing

GreenLunchBox · 31/01/2022 23:18

Imagine Therese Coffey doing a Boris 🤔

GreenLunchBox · 31/01/2022 23:20

Looks like America want to vote Trump back in, so I think we're stuck with Bozo.

HangoverSquare · 31/01/2022 23:22

Therese Coffey looked as though she had sneaked in in her jim jams as she hunched under the speaker's box today.

GreenLunchBox · 31/01/2022 23:22

On that Dispatches programme last night one of his MPs said they expected him to serve 10+ years

Wonder what state we will be in by then
