Same here. I got lucky with my first word and then it was easy.

Saw this thread and thought I'd have a go. Quite chuffed I got it in three on my first time! I think this must be how they suck you in .

It's a really weird pattern.

@waterlego and @Grasping - yes, on the app. I play both on and off but I usually win. Sometimes by cheating (looking at a dictionary)

I’ve still not forgiven it for solar we choose molar then polar it’s our only fail (so far)

I had simiiar last week - my mind has erased which the actual word was (too painful!)

But I had 3 guesses left, all but one letter sorted, and remaining possible words were frank, crank, drank and prank. I was cursed that day, I tell you, cursed!!

I love it. I got it once on my first guess - at 7am! I just knew then I would have a good day

I've collected a bunch of Wordles in a blog post (and see I need to add in Wordle Unlimited, thanks to an earlier poster) but to save you clicking on my post here's the main list below. I've tried the first six but not the others in any depth.

Currently listed:

1. Wordle itself - it's not an app but can be played via a browser on a phone / tablet, and saved as a button to homescreen (instructions)
2. Wordle Archive - play any previous Wordle (as many as you like)
3. Word Master - unlimited number of games
4. Sweardle - sweary words
5. Primal - numeric version in which each 'word' must be a prime number.
6. Absurdle - a more adversarial version in which the target word might change...
7. Qiktionary - app for iPad, guess the four letter word.
8. HelloWordl - you can change the number of letters in the word up to 11 letters
9. Lewdle - another one for rude words

10. Queerdle - its creator says "Occasionally two words may be put together if I feel like it. Queerness cannot be contained! Letters can be repeated."

There are a few other free games there too but that should do for now! Full list is here All the Wordles I know about (including some I didn't), and some other games.

I grew up playing a very similar game with my parents called FIVES in which you tell the other person how many letters are in the word but not which or where (instructions).
