@Figgygal

How do people share their grids when complete it never works for me

Got todays in 4

I start with spade - no idea why

When you get your results, hit share, then copy text

I start with usually adieu or audio - audio's nice because if the u isn't in that place, it also eliminates words starting with Q. Whatever my starting word is, I'll try to hit any unused vowels (and maybe Y) and common consonants (T, S, L) in the next word.

SukiPook · 20/01/2022 09:22

Got it in 2 today but I feel like I cheated because I saw the spoiler on here!

I would have got it quicker as I thought if the word but wasn’t sure if the same letter could appear twice so didn’t risk it!
But 4th attempt will do

waterlego · 20/01/2022 09:38

@banivani

Oh this is the first day I lost, and it was because I thought it was repeat letters but it wasn't. :( I put in two same letters and one was yellow one green. So I thought it meant the word had two and one was in the wrong place. But it didn't, only one. :(((
If you put it in two of the same letter and one appears in green and one in yellow then yes, that means one is in the right place and one is in the wrong place.

I have had bother, but though it was my phone!!

However, for me (P20Pro phone)....

tap the share icon twice which will give the wee screen with the sharing options on AND a bit under that with screenshot/long screenshot/copy text options

hit the copy text, then select where you want to share, then when FB comes up you have to hold in the comment box to get the PASTE option.

It does seem a bit of a palaver tbh! But it might just be my phone.

Grasping · 20/01/2022 09:51

I just do ‘share’ ‘copy’ ‘paste’

ihatesoaps · 20/01/2022 10:03

@Pascha

I cheated a bit and opened it up twice so I could have more guesses Blush. I did technically do it in 6 but with two different starter words.
How? Mine stays there until midnight when it gets cleared!
AnyBenny · 20/01/2022 10:10

I got it in three today. I got a couple of right letters, wrong place in my first go, but then for the first time, I tried a totally new set of letters for my second go. Purely to eliminate more letters (if that makes sense).
Quite successful so maybe I’ll try that again!

Hours of fun on the above site….you can keep playing wordl and increase the number of letters per word.

Today was hard but not as hard as proxy the other day.

If there is a double letter and you guess it once then it only shows up once on the board. Doubles are quite common, I've not come across a triple yet but I suppose it is possible.

I found noise is quite a good starter word, three vowels and two of the most common constanonts.

Gingerkittykat · 20/01/2022 10:35

Two devices, one on a phone and the other on a laptop.

There was one day me and DD had to use both of our phones at once to get more guesses.

CaptainHammer · 20/01/2022 10:37

I’d not thought of starting with adieu. I tend to start with Ouija!

AuntieStella · 20/01/2022 10:41

I have a few favoured starting words: inert, stone or stare - as they have two vowels and useful consonants

HerBigChance · 20/01/2022 11:21
have you tried Absurdle? same principle but a but harder qntm.org/files/wordle/index.html
I've tried this today and it's good fun, although I keep finding a lot of repetition in the word patterns and endings. Something to do with the algorithm, I suppose, but it makes it less fun than it could be.

One normal tab, one incognito tab. It doesn't remember you.

My first go at Wordle-ing so was quite happy with that.

I love Absurdle but cannot get it in fewer than 5

EsmeraldaandTeenytiny · 20/01/2022 11:58

Also try www.sweardle.com/ Grin

Unescorted · 20/01/2022 12:05

I use ought or aisle as my starter words - sometimes in combination.

They are quite good for ruling out some of the more common constant constant combinations.
