Another Bloody Downing Street party

999 replies

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 21:51

So hours after telling us to only meet one other person outside from a different household 100 invited to Downing Street BYO in the garden.

It was unlawful to mix outside. If my employer had invited 100 staff to a garden party we’d have all been arrested.

Johnson's an utter weasel. That just sums him up, wriggling out of everything. He's disgusting.

BellaChagall · 11/01/2022 18:00

Spindleycrow I have never rated Angela Rayner but I thought she was excellent today.

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 18:07

Now is the time to see the photos ..

If there are any that haven't been deleted that is

Hoppinggreen · 11/01/2022 18:07

@canary1

Also thinking of that poor 13 year old dying alone in hospital, while they partied 😡😡😡
I have a 13 year old boy who still wants his Mum if he’s not well. It absolutely breaks my heart to think about this child and his family
feellikeanalien · 11/01/2022 18:08

@merrymouse

feellikeanalien I wish I could do more than send you emoji Flowers.

There is so, so much pain.

Thanks merrymouse. I think I can safely say that I was very glad to see the back of 2020.

Just been catching up on what happened on parliament and it is all just making me so sad.

What a dreadful PM we have had to put up with.

Clavinova · 11/01/2022 18:31

Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab was a 13 year old child...
His own parents were not allowed to sit at his deathbed as he passed...

I don't think it was ever confirmed whether his mother (his father died 5 years earlier) was allowed to be there or not;

On its website the hospital repeated the guidance sent to trusts by NHS England that states children are allowed one parent or carer as a visitor.

King’s College Hospital declined to explain why his family were not with him.

Angela Raynor did an excellent job during the questioning in parliament today.

Poetrypatty · 11/01/2022 18:47

Starmer isn't saying much yet because it's PMQs tomorrow. So the PM won't know precisely what he's going to say or ask. Rayner did a good job today.

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 18:56

Even the Mail is putting the boot in now. The Headlines are very negative.
Once those polls drop , it doesn't take long for them to turn. Seems it's all they worry about sometimes :(

Alexandra2001 · 11/01/2022 19:14

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation

And Lo ! Despite this shitshow, it somehow transpires it's Labours fault.

Nobody's saying that. Labour are in opposition, so they should hold the govt to account which they don't appear to be doing. Starmer is a weak leader and doesn't have it in him to effectively back the govt into a corner. He should be absolutely shredding them over this. Where's the fire in his belly? Where's the rousing speeches? (Oh sorry, I forgot, he can't speak Hmm)

The man's wetter than a wet weekend in Blackpool.

Nope, what happens is the media and press portray Labour as weak, it suits them, the press predominately want a Tory Gov and the BBC are funded by the Govt. So yesterday BBC 100pm news led on Bojo, very quickly moved onto other stories, ITV stayed on the BJ story for 20mins!!!

Stuff isn't reported, glossed over or even twisted/lied about, remember "Starmer owns a field worth millions" when it turned out it wasn't, its for donkeys and he got it for his parents.

Ask yourself why the media didn't call out Bojo's totally unsuitability as a PM ?

I’d forgotten all that

salcombebabe · 11/01/2022 19:20

@Player067

Oh god I just heard that Michael Fabricant interview, absolutely infuriating
I was watching him on our local news, I was swearing at his contempt for the public and the lies he was coming out with 😡

None of these people made these laws that we were all supposed to abide by.

Plus of course, these were individuals or with their immediate families, the fact they all gathered in a few beauty spots is irrelevant.

One thing defending policy, quite another defending law breaking

Likkleredridinghood · 11/01/2022 19:22

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation Starmer is playing politics if he criticises the tories, a tory patsy if he doesn't. Corbyn also got lambasted for showing passion at QT etc (and I'm no fan). Rayner shows guts and fire but according to MN she's gobby and common. They cannot win.

Likkleredridinghood · 11/01/2022 19:24

So that's ok @MarshaBradyo...Hmm

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2022 19:25

@Likkleredridinghood

So that's ok *@MarshaBradyo*...Hmm
I didn’t expand did I? Hmm

just said I’d forgotten so what

GreenLunchBox · 11/01/2022 19:25

He has a lot at stake. I have no doubt that if he is no longer PM and leaves under a cloud that his marriage will be at stake.

Fuck him and his "marriage"

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2022 19:27

@Likkleredridinghood

So that's ok *@MarshaBradyo*...Hmm
Also why don’t you @ the person who posted it Hmm
Likkleredridinghood · 11/01/2022 19:32

Your 'I'd forgotten that' comment was a faux innocent attempt to suggest everyone was at it.

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2022 19:35

@Likkleredridinghood

Your 'I'd forgotten that' comment was a faux innocent attempt to suggest everyone was at it.
Yeh right

Of course you know everything Hmm

I took it pretty seriously back then so no I don’t think everyone was at it.

Direct your ire at someone else I cba with your assumptions.

Notonthestairs · 11/01/2022 19:39

There is no equivalence between families going to the beach and a PM who put forward legislation limiting contact to one other person attending a party in breach of lockdown.

You makes the rules the least you can do is abide by them.

Clavinova · 11/01/2022 19:41

Indeed.

[Labour] MP Kevan Jones defends decision to attend 100th birthday party during lockdown.

Mr Jones said he was invited to an outdoor celebration, organised by the community, for Frederick Herron’s 100th in Quaking Houses, County Durham, on May 10.

People were meant to join in from their own property, but bad weather meant the party was brought inside at short notice, with social distancing strictly kept, Mr Jones said.
