What’s DH coming home with?

Troublesometooth · 09/01/2022 14:15

Sent DH to Aldi with a list of about £40 worth of food.

It’s just pinged on my banking app that he has spent £84! He will be home in ten minutes…

Any guesses what he is coming home with?

I’m going for some sort of middle aisle electric saw that will sit in the shed for the next 10 years unused!

An air compressor and a scratching post.

A Joni Mitchell CD

If he's anything like mine it will just be food that I don't eat.
"I know you wrote X on the list but Y was cheaper so I bought 6 of them!"
Even when I write something like 'Oat milk NOT almond milk' on the lost, he'll still buy all the almond milk in the shop "because I though it was a better deal".

£44 over budget.

Kid's wooden piano.

Ferrex cross line laser

Men's ski jacket

Ferrex inspection camera (and a fiver of other stuff like biscuits)

Reciprocating saw and a workwear hoodie (even more likely if he flies a desk for a living).

Drill bits, 1000 piece Harry potter jigsaw puzzle, and a plug in heated single slipper boot thing!

RachAnneKirl90 · 09/01/2022 14:43

One of those boxed sets of rachets/screwdrivers/rawl plugs/spanners

That's what my DH would come back with - despite the fact he has a garage full already.

"Ahh, yes, well this PARTICULAR type of rachet gripped spanner has a special type of calibration........"

Meanwhile he forgot the sugar, teabags and pasta Grin

He’s bought the fan heater that looks like a log burner is my guess.

SocialConnection · 09/01/2022 14:54

WHAT. DID. HE. BUY.

I cannot bear the suspense.

We mutually agreed to get the lightup sparkly Crimbo clementine gin bottle (very nice, all gone) but that wouldn't be £40 extra ...

FazeleysRoyale · 09/01/2022 14:55

A vice type stand for his bicycle which will hold it off the ground in any position so he can fix, paint, or tinker with it.

A pair of enormous unwieldy but optically good binoculars.

(I may have bought both of these at times from Lidl midl aisle - see what I did there)

VeryOldBlueEyes · 09/01/2022 14:55

Men's black work boots, a dog teepee and a Winnie the Pooh crochet set.

Absolutely nothing that was on your original list, but some bargain garden furniture, thermals, and a drinks cabinet that looks like a globe Smile

MustDust · 09/01/2022 15:02

I've just had an aldi ad on my fb and there's a boombox for £30 if he's prone to 'taping the top 40 off the radio' nostalgia.

100 bulb set Fairy lights, 6 foot blow up Santa and pump, Elf costume size 22, 4 family Christmas Puddings, 6 jars cinnamon sticks - all reduced of course....

NeverDropYourMooncup · 09/01/2022 15:06

Come on - he's over half an hour late.

What is he trying to sneak in through the back door when you're not looking?

SocialConnection · 09/01/2022 15:06

On the edge of my seat here, OP
