To ask you why you are awake?

I've been suffering from awful stomach pains for two hours, on and off the toilet, now going to run a hot bath (at 1:30am!) to try and soothe it. Keep me company and stop me from going insane - I'm in so much pain!

What are you doing? Are you okay? What's keeping you up? :-)

My eyeballs hurt because of covid and it has also made me quite anxious somehow.

I'm trying to read a book but finding it hard to sustain concentration.
I was up until about 4 last night.

DustyMaiden · 09/01/2022 01:36

Sorry you’re not well. I just have a bad habit of going to bed at 2 or 3.am. Taken early retirement.

Thisismyrecipe · 09/01/2022 01:36

I am actually tipsy because I've not long got back from a meet up with friends. Currently cooking some sausages in my air fryer and drinking a pint of water 🤣

Baby awake until 12.30am! I need some child free time. I will substitute energy for coffee tomorrow.

crushedgrape · 09/01/2022 01:38

Hope the bath helps. Next door are watching tv in bed really loudly, it has woken me up 🙄

Normski67 · 09/01/2022 01:38

God knows as I’m doing dry Jan to try and make me sleep better. Obviously not working!
Hope your stomach pain stops soon.

DrEllie · 09/01/2022 01:39

Covid aches and pains!

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 09/01/2022 01:39

Not gone to bed yet.

My brother and his girlfriend got covid at Christmas and missed the whole thing so we’ve had them over for a belated family party.

I think I might have a headache in the morning Confused

Glenthebattleostrich · 09/01/2022 01:39

waiting for my pcr results.

Tested positive on lateral flow Friday, felt utterly exhausted and slept for about 19 out of 24 hours. Haven't been able to get out for a walk (obviously) so cant settle.

SortMyHouse · 09/01/2022 01:40

Insomnia

Happylittlethoughts · 09/01/2022 01:40

Post covid , my sleeping pattern is ruined. I'm back to work Monday so I'm sure it'll sort itself quickly.
Too much phone scrolling!

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/01/2022 01:40

Night shift

Xmasgetaway · 09/01/2022 01:41

I finished a book that was very exciting and disturbing and now I know I’ll have nightmares if I sleep straight away!

budgiegirl · 09/01/2022 01:41

Slept most of the day due to having a horrible cold and feeling out of it - now feeling better and wide awake!

Theghostofchristmasarse · 09/01/2022 01:42

I'm sorry you're unwell OP.
I'm up because I just saw curious incident of the dog in the night and on the train home my mum called as my daughter, who was recently diagnosed with ASD, had a meltdown with my mum, she was meant to be staying there tonight but I had to go and get her and bring her home. Was meant to be staying at my boyfriend's but now home, DD is asleep, and I'm having a naughty joint out the back door so I can stop worrying about her and get some sleep. 3 days of meltdowns with her being very violent towards me (she's 12, and taller and stronger than me) have meant my nerves are shredded more than usual....doing dry January too so no drink for me. Sleeping soon hopefully.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 09/01/2022 01:45

Feeding the baby.

Sorry you’re unwell OP. Have you any peppermint tea?

Normski67 · 09/01/2022 01:46

Have you got a hot water bottle? I have IBD so have a lot of bowel problems and find it very soothing.

YukoandHiro · 09/01/2022 01:48

Poor you OP. Do you have some peppermint tea? That can help.

A helicopter has been circling overhead and it woke me, then I became aware of DH's snoring and couldn't go back to sleep. I decided to give my 14 month old a night feed now as she usually wakes around 3am, scrolling mumsnset while she's latched.

I love these threads.

Wildrobin · 09/01/2022 01:48

I woke for 3rd night pee as pregnant . Wish I didn’t get so thirsty!

ouchgoestheweasel · 09/01/2022 01:49

@Xmasgetaway I am so intrigued! What was the book?

YukoandHiro · 09/01/2022 01:49

@Thisismyrecipe Don't nod off! I once had to call the fire brigade for a neighbour who has put sausages on while drunk and passed out causing a house fire. Luckily she was fine.

ouchgoestheweasel · 09/01/2022 01:49

Thanks for the lovely messages guys. It's a mixture of binge eating (that's a whole different thread) and time of the month. Terrible combination!

Feel sorry for those of you who are going to wake up with sore heads tomorrow...

Anxiety, insomnia, delayed sleep phase, who knows?

I tend to go through large chunks of time where I end up with 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night (and I am by no means a morning person) and then every so often I'll sleep for 12 hours.
However on those nights I can't/don't/barely sleep there is nothing to help (I've tried creams, oils, teas, music, lights, darkness, pills).

I'm just awake.

PixieAndProsecco · 09/01/2022 01:50

And to add, I'm awake but I'll still struggle and rely heavily on caffeine tomorrow.

It's a horrific cycle.
I need sleep. I can't sleep. I don't sleep. I consume too much caffeine.

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 09/01/2022 01:51

I went to bed at 11pm but woke up at 1am and can't go back to sleep again.
