To ask you why you are awake?

I've been suffering from awful stomach pains for two hours, on and off the toilet, now going to run a hot bath (at 1:30am!) to try and soothe it. Keep me company and stop me from going insane - I'm in so much pain!

What are you doing? Are you okay? What's keeping you up? :-)

Hyperemesis medication has messed with my sleep pattern so I'm up being sick. I'm looking forward to being where PPs are, up with a new baby later this year.

Two little ones on the way, how lovely 🥰

We’re having a baby together, she’ll hopefully becoming home this month 🤞🏽 I’ve not been sleeping well due to a mixture of missing her and worrying about my son. We’ve set up a few things now such as the cot next to our bed etc and think that has made it more real for my son. That has caused some behaviours that I expected, but not nice for him obviously, I don’t want him to feel pushed out, I worry how he’ll cope sharing me, how I’ll make sure I still have enough quality time with him, our daughter without being awake 24/7. Then I also don’t sleep because I feel guilty that I worry her arrival could have some negative impacts on my son.

Perimenopausal insomnia, been awake for a few hours now. Thinking about just giving up and starting the day now!

bert3400 · 09/01/2022 05:08

I'm going on holiday, just me and DH. We've done City breaks for a weekend, without the DC but this is a full on Carribean for 10 nights Grin. I'm very very excited

Oh! Enjoy!

DH is on day shift today 6-6 so woke me up... hoping to get back off after a quick MN browse and a cuppa!!

Up feeding 3 month old DS, again, he wakes every 30-90 mins, every night. I’m so bloody tired!

Bornin1989 · 09/01/2022 05:17

Woke up at 4:00 as my 14 week old DD was wriggling next to me and I noticed she'd wet through her nappy and clothes so had to change her completely. She's fast asleep again after a feed (still latched and nibbling haha) but I can't sleep as I've had some issues with my partner lately (drinking too much) and tonight was the final straw, so I'm running through my head what the conversation I'm going to have with him tomorrow looks like :(

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/01/2022 05:18

3 hours left of my shift, 2 nights with lack of staff is not good.

StruggleStreet · 09/01/2022 05:19

Sorry @Bornin1989, hope the conversation goes as well as it can tomorrow

Vbree · 09/01/2022 05:20

I often wake for an hour to two every night. Itchy legs/rash making it harder to sleep too. Not sure what's causing it but I may be sensitive to something I ate.

shouldistop · 09/01/2022 05:23

Because my one year old likes to torture me

Mamabear12 · 09/01/2022 05:33

I woke up an hour ago with fever, sore throat, headache and aches. I think I have covid, but tested negative. My kids are positive though....so it aint rocket science...I never have fever...so it must be covid.....

Gomorra · 09/01/2022 05:39

Im up because I have a sleeping disorder which I developed after the birth of my last baby. I dread going to sleep now not knowing how my night will be. It's ruined my life and I'm depressed because of it.

YukoandHiro · 09/01/2022 05:54

How old is your baby @Gomorra ?

MackenCheese · 09/01/2022 06:01

I woke up with a blocked nose, now I've got up to read.

cakedelight77 · 09/01/2022 06:05

@Xmasgetaway love to know the title of that book. Sounds like a great recommendation!! X

Terrhins · 09/01/2022 06:11

I’m just getting over a stomach bug, my daughter woke me up a hour ago & taken this long to get her settled.

Hoping she’s finally asleep now to go back to sleep myself.

MrsPotatoHead22 · 09/01/2022 06:15

I still haven't been to sleep. Shock my children will be up in 2 hrs.

jamandmarmaladethesecondcoming · 09/01/2022 06:51

Perimenopause insomnia

bettertocryinamercedes · 09/01/2022 07:05

UTi - get them a lot and I've been up for a couple hours with hot water bottle

I really need a bath but we don't have one 😢

Brigante9 · 09/01/2022 07:06

I know it’s not the middle of the night but my dh came at 3 from work so I thought the pups would sleep in. Oh no, bang on 6am, they wanted brea. Nor, they’ll go back to bed til 8. Not today.

blahblahx · 09/01/2022 07:08

My sleep has been terrible recently due to pre-birth anxiety so I'm usually awake at all hours....although I know it isn't the middle of the night at the moment 😅

ouchgoestheweasel · 09/01/2022 07:29

Congratulations on the women having babies! And good luck!

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's replies, I do find it so comforting thinking of everyone else who is awake and struggling (or not struggling).

I have just had a second Imodium after being woken up with the terrible pains again. I have a feeling I'm going to be on and off the toilet again for the next few hours... 😴

I'm a teacher and was so looking forward to the lie in... 😞

@ouchgoestheweasel Thankyou.. still waiting for baby to make an appearance!

@sasbiscuit how are you getting on?! I have contractions but still quite mild. Managed to get a few hours sleep but hoping today things will pick up. Are you having a boy or girl? xox
