Been watching and listening to a lot of George on Spotify and YouTube lately. Beautiful voice, still miss him! Anyone else?

Yup. Lovely man, great legacy.

He was very under appreciated, I think

starstarstarlight · 02/01/2022 20:57

Completely agree - heard Praying for Time the other day and completely paused to give it my full attention.

Riverlee · 02/01/2022 20:57

Did you listen to the Radio 2 countdown yesterday? It was lovely.

We walked past his house today. It's still empty 😕

Wafflesnsniffles · 02/01/2022 20:58

7-10pm this evening on radio 2 - Radio 2 celebrates George Michael - available on catch up as well obviously. I was listening earlier whilst cooking. His life performance of Freedom was fabulous.

BoodleBug51 · 02/01/2022 21:01

I'm still gutted that I never saw him live.

I still listen to his music all the time.

Such a waste.

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 02/01/2022 21:03

Beautiful man, voice and person.
Praying for time is just lyrically perfect.

Meredusoleil · 02/01/2022 21:06

Love love loved him! Such a waste of a great talent dying at 50 😥

DrPhilYourGuts · 02/01/2022 21:06

Miss him often! Saw him live, truly talented. His music means so much to me.

corlan · 02/01/2022 21:07

Yes - just listening to Radio 2 - what a voice, what a man.

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/01/2022 21:07

Beautiful voice, and man.

Sadly missed.

FitAt50 · 02/01/2022 21:08

My inlaws live next door to the house he died in, said he was a really lovely man. Every Christmas he would give them a big hamper to apologise for his fans hanging about outside etc. On the anniversary of his death there are dozens of flowers and candles left outside the house. A family moved in a couple of years ago but the house was empty for a few years apart from the housekeeper.

SergeiL · 02/01/2022 21:08

I genuinely think a lot of people didn’t realise he was such a talented singer songwriter until after he died. It is heartwarming though that his music is clearly going to live on.

twinkletoesimnot · 02/01/2022 21:11

Love his music so much.
Such a talented man.
My mum said I used to stop crying and listen if a song of his was on from very small.
My own children have grown up listening to him too.
Such a sad loss, way too soon.

Skeumorph · 02/01/2022 21:12

A really lovely person by all accounts. Of all troubled celeb stories, images the one I really wish had had a more contented life, he deserved it

Skeumorph · 02/01/2022 21:12

*he’s the obe

Skeumorph · 02/01/2022 21:12

One!! 🙄😆

Tiredmumno1 · 02/01/2022 21:14

Still listen to him all the time, makes me happy others feel the same and he won't just vanish. Such a sad waste of talent, was taken far too early.

Makes me sad we won't ever hear anything new, his voice is just mesmerising.

ShirleyBadass · 02/01/2022 21:15

Isn't there a story about him seeing a couple on This Morning who had numerous failed IVF attempts and he got in touch with them and paid for more?

KaptainKaveman · 02/01/2022 21:15

Lovely little anecdote @FitAt50 Smile
I absolutely love his music and often get really weepy when I hear his songs. He was incredibly talented.

Thesearmsofmine · 02/01/2022 21:15

I love listening to his music, he seemed to have been a very lovely and generous man too, I’ll have to listen to the radio 2 countdown on catch up,

GrahamNortonsjacket · 02/01/2022 21:15

His performance of Somebody to Love at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert just showed how amazing his voice was and what a fantastic performer, as well as songwriter, he was.

whenwillthemadnessend · 02/01/2022 21:17

You
Might enjoy a podcast called "how to fail"

It's the episode with Shirley kemp. She speaks so fondly of George and it's a lovely listen.

DaydreamerBetty · 02/01/2022 21:20

I still can’t believe he’s passed away. Such a talented singer, I listen to his music often. I use to listen to my dads freedom 90 album as a child.

Waftypants · 02/01/2022 21:20

I miss him too! What a talent he was. I loved all the stories of random acts of kindness that came out in the press after he died.
