I’m on my own (with the dog Grin) for the next few days. Happy to bore you, the most excitement I’m going to get this Christmas is opening my work Secret Santa present. If you don’t count starting on oestrogen gel, that’s the other thing I’ve got lined up.
Please join me 🤗

Merry Xmas all. On here for now, then off to see my family later on today. Party tonight courtesy of them too. Have a nice day all of you on here.

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 25/12/2021 09:42

So

I wanted a layin and ended up awake at 7am.

I was going to make myself a nice breakfast but am currently in bed drinking tea and iced biscuits.

All going according to plan Grin

misscockerspaniel · 25/12/2021 09:44

Merry Christmas everyone Xmas Smile. At least we won't be stopping to eat sandwiches in a car at a motorway station, as at least one poor MNetter is due to be doing.

BuddhaAtSea I have been taking paracetamol, mainly because where I work is so cold it was triggering off pain but I am off for the next 4 days so will be swopping to alcohol. Yay!

I am currently dogless and will need to wfh before I can have another one, so I would love to see more pictures of pets pretty please.

Also, which is better? Netflixs or BritBox?

RainbowDrops91 · 25/12/2021 09:46

Merry Christmas all! Is it acceptable for me to eat chocolate for breakfast today? Hehe Xmas Smile

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 25/12/2021 09:46

Haven't used britbox. Netflix is good to a degree as it has lots on it but sometimes feels like there's lots but nothing to watch.

Aiming to watch love actually today and a few more Christmas movies.

Garysmum · 25/12/2021 09:52

@MuthaFunka61 I am sure you are worried and I am sorry you have to deal with this. I wish you a peaceful day and all the best for the future.

@RainbowDrops91 I had coffee, porridge and chocolate.

Now trying to force myself outside in rain.

thereisonlyoneofme · 25/12/2021 10:15

Im on my own with the dog. Really damp and dreary morning, and the big downer is NO NEWSPAPERS, thats another hour to fill!
I havent done Christmas for the past 10 years, I feel a bit smug not having to put up with all the things others are stressing about with their family dynamics at this time of year. Also its cheap!
Got lots of things ticked in the tv programmes for tonight, but the highlight for me was the new Shaun the Sheep last night, totally brilliant.

misscockerspaniel · 25/12/2021 10:15

MuthaFunka6 hugs and Cake. My heart goes out to you.

MuthaFunka61 · 25/12/2021 10:42

@Garysmum & @misscockerspaniel, thanks for touching base and your kind thoughts.
It means a lot

user1471511336 · 25/12/2021 10:47

Good morning and Happy Christmas, everyone. Xmas Smile Still pottering around in my dressing gown, but I'll probably head up and have a shower now so I can go out for a walk if the rain eases off. Hope you are all managing to chill and make the most of the day.

EducatingArti · 25/12/2021 10:51

Morning. Happy Christmas everyone!

forcedfun · 25/12/2021 11:11

@MuthaFunka61 I am so sorry, it's hard to carry that news on your own. But I can also see how hard it is to tell people you love.

forcedfun · 25/12/2021 11:15

Anyone planning to watch a good film /read a book? I have a big pile of Christmas books but not sure what to watch on the film front!

I had a big nap this morning and it was heavenly! I have been working so hard I think my body has finally relaxed and I am off till new year Smile

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 25/12/2021 11:22

Forcedfun I bought myself the new jane fallon book when I did the food shop. She's usually an easy read so I know I'll be able to get into it this afternoon while snuggled under a blanket with a tub of the many boxes of chocolates i got (nursery teacher) and then love actually will be on this evening.

MuthaFunka61 · 25/12/2021 11:40

@forcedfun. I've told my sister who's being brilliant and extremely supportive but yes it is a difficult situation. I know I have to tell the remainder of my closest family but really don't want to have to upset them by doing so.
I'm currently devising plans on how to do this with my sister, then it's when to tell them.

I took some (prescribed) extra morphine earlier so I could take my dog out for a run. He's now happily snoozing by my side which makes me inordinately happy and content. Once he's woken I'll tackle the washing up and then crack on with some rugs I'm making whilst listening to the radio. I think i need a tee shirt with #thankgoodnessforrugging printed on it Grin

forcedfun · 25/12/2021 11:43

@MuthaFunka61 I am so glad your sister knows and will help you tell them.

Rug making sounds perfect!!! I would love to be creative like that! I think we need a picture at some point today Xmas Smile

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 25/12/2021 11:47

Merry Christmas everyone. I'm sat wrapped up in a throw, a pile of books and a box of marzipan fruits here.

The #JoinIn and #DuvetTheyKnowItsChristmas on Twitter are worth a peak.

Graphista · 25/12/2021 11:48

@MuthaFunka61 I somehow missed your earlier post as we posted around same time

So sorry for all you're going through that must be unbelievably hard! Hope you get all the help and support you need with this Thanks

MuthaFunka61 · 25/12/2021 11:57

I'll see what I can do about photos @forcedfun,I'm attaching the backing today (which isn't as pleasurable as the creating) whilst bouncing around ideas for my next rug.

Thanks for your kind words @Graphista,it means a lot. Once I know what's going on I'll find it easier to manage as I can focus on how to get through this. I can be very focused when needed, which I think is a skill,I'm not totally convinced those around me always agree though Grin

cissyandbessy · 25/12/2021 12:07

Morning all! @MuthaFunka61 That sounds tough, glad you've got your lovely dog to cheer you and that your sister is supportive. @notmrscookie Glad there is another Call the Midwife fan - it's so lovely and nostalgic.

HomeAloneXmas · 25/12/2021 12:10

I've opened the Sherry and really pleased I did some pre planning (aka put the water heater on before I took ddog out) as now I can have a proper hot bath while I drink the Sherry. I did walk ddog in the rain for 90 min though so I've earned it. Turkey dinner for 1 later, not missing that.

Graphista · 25/12/2021 12:33

@MuthaFunka61 nothing wrong with being focused! Especially with health issues. I am disabled myself plus many Mh issues and I have some loved ones who've been through cancer some more than once sadly and focus really seems to have helped them

Sometimes a little bloody mindedness is needed! Wink

How's everyone doing so far? I'm flagging energy wise so may doze off for a nap (insomniac)

DanFmDorking · 25/12/2021 12:53

May I invite you to try the Christmas Puzzle - hope you enjoy it Smile

Tomanyhandbags · 25/12/2021 13:13

Thought I was doing good until itried to go out had to pull car over 3 times as crying to much to be safe am home again now so feel safer but still panicked but have satisfaction of knowing I tried even if it didn't work out

Yummypumpkin · 25/12/2021 13:21

Hey @Tomanyhandbags take care. A bit of a cry is very healthy. Don't push yourself to do or feel anything. There's a very nice show on Radio 3...soothing and festive but not celebratory. Good TV kicks in soon. Youre doing great.
