I’m on my own (with the dog ) for the next few days. Happy to bore you, the most excitement I’m going to get this Christmas is opening my work Secret Santa present. If you don’t count starting on oestrogen gel, that’s the other thing I’ve got lined up.

I am spending the next few days alone - without my DC, without family or partner as my ex has covid and it's not worth the risk.
Lots of exercise I hope and I only have tinned and frozen food in so that's what I am having.

@garysmum I too like the exercise idea. But please don't quote me as the thread moves on. Are your DC little?

@Yummypumpkin Ok, I'm eating salmon blinis for breakkie with bucks fizz. Then a prawn and scallop gratin thingy I got in Aldi with some veg - if I can be arsed to prep and cook any! Might just skip them and carry on eating sweets and chocs for the afternoon. Don't feel guilty at all!

Spending my first Christmas alone this year (split up with ex a few months ago and family don't want to meet for Christmas this year due to covid worries) and tbh I'm really looking forward to it

Love being able to do exactly what I want when I want. I am gonna make a fry up for breakfast tomorrow then spend the rest of the day eating equally unhealthy food probably

I am all about the breakfast. I love this. I'm going fish and bucks fizz brekkie too.

Hello, I'm completely alone this Christmas. Tomorrow, I shall be eating a huge pizza all to myself. I've also got mince pies and extra thick double cream. Oh, and I've treated myself to a few different boxes of chocolates.

@Yummypumpkin - I have a tube of croissant dough for freshly cooked croissants for breakfast, a M&S ready meal ( ) for lunch and some smoked salmon for supper. But if all I want is beans on toast I will save all that for another day!

Lucky enough to have been given a lovely looking Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings including proper toasties my housing association that just needs popping in the oven to warm up. Also cooked small turkey crown as love turkey sandwiches and turkey and chips on boxing day.

@Yummypumpkin DC are early teens. Its not ideal as two of them are fine with it but one hates christmas anyway.

@Tomanyhandbags sounds good, think I am going to crack open the Heinz soup tomorrow!

@Garysmum, do the Heinz tomato soup, but with cheesy croutons!!! Like toss them on a tray with olive oil, oregano, some chilli flakes and grated Parmesan.

Ok, what I really wanted for Christmas dinner is a bowl of nachos, with smoked cheese grated over the top, sour cream, a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce and jalapeños. I went into M&S to arm myself with the said goods but it was friggin Armageddon in there, so I exited sharpish. I got chilli con quorn, it’s SO yummy though.

Second Christmas without DH. DS is in healthcare so his leave has been cancelled. DD going to the outlaws.

This Christmas it's as though the reality of DH's death has hit home. Dog and I will have a day together.

I wish I'd bought smoked salmon and prawns but have wine.

I’m on my own as I am in Covid isolation till midnight Boxing Day. Feeling much better now, just tired. My son is going to deliver me a Christmas dinner tomorrow. I’m very lucky in that respect.

@StopGo I have wine too. Though I also have the M&S snowglobe gin. I am so sorry about your loss. But somehow you will get through this Christmas.
Cheesy though it may sound, I am rooting for you all.

@AsanteSana and @Tomanyhandbags and who else asked about the dog. I have a dog to go with the middle aged divorced woman stereotype 😂, a shih tzu. terribly ungroomed, if that’s a word, sports the surfer look, comes running and swimming in the sea with me.

StopGo unfortunately this is my second husband that has passed away and in my experience the second year was the hardest as your prepared for the first and people are more protective so do what you need to to get through this one and hopefully next year will be better and easier.

I’m with DP, but family things have got complicated this year, so it’s just the two of us this weekend. I’m feeling it this evening and have brought myself to bed. Broken my usual rule and brought the phone to bed too.
