Merry Christmas everyone!
Thanks for the thread op
This is my 3rd year alone mainly due to mental health issues.
I'm kinda used to it now and quite like suiting myself with eating/drinking/watching/listening to stuff
I also do #JoinIn on twitter which is Sarah Millicans initiative for people alone/lonely at Xmas (you don't have to be alone to be lonely and just cos you're alone doesn't mean you are either!) it's really upbeat and fun
I cocked up my Tesco for Xmas and couldn't get a slot this week and forgot loads! But I've plenty in too!
At the moment I'm thinking I'll have fried egg butties for breakfast
I'm veggie so Xmas dinner is gonna be nut roast and veggie friendly trimmings I need to work out timings later as if I don't I end up in a mess! Also a massive pud due to a Tesco sub glitch! (I'm sure I'll manage)
@Tomanyhandbags I remember you from another thread I forget which, I've prob already said so if you've mentioned but I am sorry for the loss of your dh.
What's everyone watching? I went through radio times and I've noted what I think I wanna watch but will decide at the time
@Yummypumpkin have you not seen anything you fancy watching? What streaming services have you got? Maybe we can find something for you what kinda thing do you like?
@Joy2TheWorld I had Covid bad but mild (as in bad but not bad enough for hospital) in sep it sucks! For me soup, lozenges, plenty of water, paracetamol and Covinia were my life savers! But it was pretty miserable hope you're not as bad as me I could barely even mn then I was sooo ill!
I mean...there are no rules but the ones we make, right?
Absolutely!
I'm not sure whether to just go with lounge wear (leggings and top) or go a bit dressier if It may make me feel better...but then for eating and drinking I think leisure wear is the way to go
I have green sparkly nails! Which are making me happy.
I'm agoraphobic among other things and have JUST (start of sep) started venturing out occasionally! This has led to me buying loads of new make up as I hadn't worn any at home but my skin is awful (as I also have dermotillomania) so feel the need to cover up for the sake of others!
@LeQuern late for this year but next year I'd say do a cheats Xmas dinner! Ready made everything! Less effort for you and less food for them? Elderly people do tend to lose their appetites. A wee bit of everything is all you need. I used to work in elderly care and we'd still do all the elements of Xmas dinner but only serve them a little of each thing as that's all they wanted, a taste.
What time is not too early to be playing musical movies and singing along do we reckon?
@prettycolours nothing wrong with looking forward to it there are good and bad parts to all kinds of christmases.
My childhood Christmases were with all my family but due to addiction in the family were not happy ones! A calm, peaceful autonomic Christmas is fine for me.
I'm missing dd (she's at her dads this year other end of country) but not in a totally heartbroken way
@BuddhaAtSea I turned into my mother about 10/15 years ago, these days I look more like my gran!
