They are as big and as gorgeous as you like. Where are they and what do they look like? All mortgage free.

But you just have three in total. Only 3.

Penthouse on Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona.

Castle on a Scottish loch.

Villa with pool and orange groves as far as the eye can see in Sicily, probably around Cefalu. WITH DONKEYS*

  • Most important bit.

I haven’t thought much about what they’d look like but - here in Wales (nice views please), a base in Singapore (might not be that big for obvious reasons, but near an MRT station would be fine), and a place on Waiheke Island, Auckland, with fantastic views and near a fabulous winery, please.

I would live in Surrey as that's where my pig and chickens would be, but would have them looked after while I spend a couple of months of summer in Cannes. New York would be for trips , mostly in October and December for Christmas shopping.

London, central, walking distance to theatres…

Spain, southern. Warmth in winter.

Lake District, where I’d spend most of my time.

I can't decide on mine. Probably:

  1. Not far from where I live now. It would have to be big in the countryside, gorgeous village. So not too far from family and basically our ideal home now if we had the money. Our base. We can get to London quite easily from here and I lived in London for years before we moved, so don't feel the need for a place there.
  1. A really swanky apartment in New York, maybe east village. Rooms for the kids and wild courtyard garden. Love NY we'd go a lot I think, especially for Christmas.
  1. This is a tough one. There are so many beautiful countries but in reality Europe is closer and easier for us to access. Oh screw it, a place in Queensland Australia. We'll travel with what would have been mortgage money and rent it out for retirement funds.
