You can have three properties anywhere in the world

They are as big and as gorgeous as you like. Where are they and what do they look like? All mortgage free.

But you just have three in total. Only 3.

A traditional house in Sweden.
A beautiful beach front home in French Polynesia
A stone cottage in Wiltshire.

Latenightreader · 19/12/2021 21:24

Vancouver, maybe the English Bay area or possibly North Vancouver.

Somewhere in Italy - the Amalfi Coast area or possibly Lucca. A small to medium sized town near water, with good public transport!

Ely - one of the properties near the river. At least four bedrooms, maybe five or six, an enclosed garden, and a garage.

Additionally I would like a transporter to move me between them in an instance!

Cornwall

Copenhagen, Edinburgh, and Rome. I've not thought about what I'd want the properties themselves to look like but those are definitely my chosen locations!

Amsterdam. Somewhere near Vondelpark
Bali
North wales

My main house I would like to be somewhere in Surrey. I don’t know the area well but I need to be able to get into London fairly easily but would like to live somewhere that feels a bit more villagey with plenty of green space.

Then I would have a penthouse in Manhattan and a beach house in the South of France somewhere.

Crazykatie · 19/12/2021 21:35

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many beautiful and exciting places, after two weeks I’m ready to come home where all my family and friends are.
I enjoy the experience, even return several times but I really am a home bird.

2 options

First for the Covid world
A nicer house close to where I live now (Home Counties), close enough to London to pop in for the day or to commute.
Then a house by the sea, preferably Sandbanks
Finally a property in Edinburgh near family

If travel is free again
Auckland
Hawaii (I know that is a state not a city)
UK probably Edinburgh

Manhattan - a penthouse, utterly luxurious, with the all important views

Tuscany - a medium size castle with a vineyard, I also want to grow my own tomatoes and dry them in the sun, my own olives and herbs and bake my own focaccia every day. I want to have a beautiful patio where I can sit in the evening and watch the sun go down.

Loch Lomond/the Trossachs area - just a cottage, where I can sit outside and gaze into the starry skies.

British Columbia - Costal either near Vancouver or on Vancouver Island and costal - house

North Cornwall sea facing and rural - house

Flat or apartment in the 18th Arrondissement of Paris.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 19/12/2021 22:06

York, Scotland, somewhere on mainland Europe with good rail links.

There are four of us, so four or five bedrooms in each property. Wood floors, thick rugs and curtains, king sized beds, comfortable sofas. No matchy colour schemes, a bit of life and character. Lots of books.

YellowBelly7 · 19/12/2021 22:08

Ibiza
Hamilton Island - if I could have 4!

One of the gorgeous houses overlooking the river in Chester, within the city walls

TheOldRazzleDazzle · 19/12/2021 22:17

London house - Strand on the Green.

Villa with sea views in southern Italy - Puglia, Campania or Calabria. This one might be suitable: www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/114485489?currencyCode=GBP#/?channel=OVERSEAS or this one www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/116990300#/?channel=OVERSEAS

Another villa, somewhere in the tropics this time. Belize, perhaps. remaxvipbelize.com/properties/distinctive-beach-front-home-with-pier-and-boat-lift/

MegBusset · 19/12/2021 22:18

Timeisavirtue · 19/12/2021 22:19

New York
Hawaii
Lake como, Italy

longtompot · 19/12/2021 22:27

If my current home was actually my dream home which is in a small village a few miles from here, then that would be number one.
Number two would be by the sea or within a 10 minute walk of a sandy dog friendly beach, maybe Devon or Cornwall.
Thirdly would be a place on the west coast of Scotland.

Bloodybridget · 19/12/2021 22:35

A very nice flat with a garden in Highbury, London.
A beautiful, energy efficient house in Woodbridge, Suffolk; no more than 100 years old, detached, decent size garden but not huge.
Another flat on the English coast, not sure where.

sqirrelfriends · 19/12/2021 23:19

Home - Lovely double fronted Edwardian house in London. Probably near Richmond.

Holiday home 1 - House a stones throw from the beach in south Devon or Cornwall.

Holiday home 2 - this is a hard one, something big and on the beach in Ibiza, Sicily or the Azores. It really depends what's on the market.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 19/12/2021 23:41

Penthouse apartment with roof terrace in Manhattan.

Villa in Bequia.

Houseboat on the Nagin Lake in Kashmir.

peachgreen · 19/12/2021 23:46

Georgian house in London, huge high ceilings, backing onto the river, lovely long garden, big old front door.

Apartment in New York in one of those amazing old fashioned serviced buildings with a doorman and a residents' association and whatnot.

Not sure what country the other one would be in, but it would be a lakeside property with mountains in the background, somewhere where it's warm enough in summer to swim in the lake but cold enough in winter that it snows.
