Terrified

I'm terrified of getting my first vaccine. What side effects did people have with each vaccine?

I had Pfizer for all 3. Bit of a sore arm, and felt a bit tired and headachy for the first one, just the sore arm for the second and third. On the way home from the first vaccine I also felt amazing joy and exhilaration: I was singing in the car. Though I think that was relief to actually be able to do something to reduce my chances of dying, rather than an actual side effect.

I’ve had 2x Astra Zeneca and a Moderna booster. Currently have a sore arm after the booster. My husband has had 3 x moderna and had no side effects at all.

Nicknacky · 18/12/2021 22:05

Sore arm. That was it.

What is it you are worried about?

AZ for both vaccines. First one sore arm for a few days, felt jet lagged the day after. Second one felt a bit more tired than usual the next 24 hours.
Haven't been able to get my booster yet.

GutsInMay · 18/12/2021 22:10

I had no side effects at all, not even a sore spot, following 3 Oxford AZ jabs.

Sore arm but no other side effects following Pfizer booster.

No one in my family has had any side effects whatsoever.

Terminallysleepdeprived · 18/12/2021 22:12

2 x astra zenica and booster was Pfizer.

Vaccine 1 gave me the worst hang over in history for 24 hours

Vaccine 2 and booster sore arm like with flu jabs but otherwise absolutely fine

ohfourfoxache · 18/12/2021 22:12

First one fine, second and third a bit achey

In short, a hell of a lot better than going through covid unvaccinated!

Well done for deciding to go for it, I promise it’s not as scary as it seems

Happenchance · 18/12/2021 22:12

No side effects from the first Pfizer, a bit of nausea and insomnia from the second. I've not had my booster yet.

Loo87 · 18/12/2021 22:14

I have a little baby and I'm terrified of the side effects of the vaccine. But I know I have to have it rather than the seriousness of catching covid

1st and 2nd Jab - slightly sore arm

Booster - very sore arm

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/12/2021 22:14

None whatsoever apart from the pain you get with a pin prick:
not for DC and cousins (young adults)
not for DMil (95)
not for DstepM (70)
not for me, DB (almost 60)
not for DSis and DBiL(in their fifities)

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/12/2021 22:14

oh I forgot Pfizer and Moderna

Opal8 · 18/12/2021 22:15

Ds2 (13) 1st Jab - slightly sore arm

Ds1 (18) 2 x jabs - minimally sore upper arm
Booster - some nausea and tiredness

ImmutableSexQueen · 18/12/2021 22:16

2 Astra, 1 Pfizer.
No side-effects from the first two, a bit tired for a couple of days after the Pfizer. Also half a day of brain fog after the Pfizer.

Forgetaboutme · 18/12/2021 22:16

For all three I had a slightly stiff arm which lasted less than a day. Nothing else thankfuly. My dh and son were the same x

DailyMailHater · 18/12/2021 22:16

2 Pfizer 1 Moderna and only side affect was a light headache for 24hrs after Moderna - but could have just been a coincidence

TheCanyon · 18/12/2021 22:16

Have had 2 Pfizer so far, had a wee temp first time and a sore arm the second. Getting my booster on wed.

LostThePot · 18/12/2021 22:17

I had Moderna for my first and second dose. I felt unwell for 24hrs after both but symptoms went as quickly as they started.

Even though I felt poorly, I’m still going for my booster next week which will be Pfizer.

You’ve go this @Loo87

Titsywoo · 18/12/2021 22:17

AZ 1 - Sore arm
AZ 2 - Nothing

Not had booster yet

Sarahlou63 · 18/12/2021 22:17

How about be terrified of catching covid and realising the seriousness of getting a vaccine instead.

Opal8 · 18/12/2021 22:18

My booster was pfizer
Ds1s was moderna
Dh has had no issues whatsoever, not even a sore arm
My 75 year old mum who has several comorbidities had no effects at all from any of her jabs other than slightly sore arm

Mollymalone123 · 18/12/2021 22:20

None for me and my DH had headache for one day and that was it.Hoping our boosters are the same but better than getting covid

kickupafuss · 18/12/2021 22:22

Pfizer for all 3.
Slight sore arm with all 3
Slight temperature with the second.

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 18/12/2021 22:24

1st I was sleepy for 1-2 days
2nd and 3rd, arm felt a bit bruised, that was all.

Do you have something calming you can do? Guided meditation? Read?

freckledsloth · 18/12/2021 22:25

Had two doses of Pfizer. I had a sore arm each time and was hit with a wave of tiredness around 24 hours after but nothing major.
