Supposed to be going to sleep, but as per usual am wasting time, for some reason unbeknown reason to, I like to avoid sleep 🙄

Anyone else awake (and why😁)?

I blew up a load of balloons for DD's second birthday tomorrow, and kept them in my bedroom overnight so I can get her off to nursery in the morning and celebrate in the evening. One of them just popped, with what felt like the loudest 'bang' ever.

So that's me awake Hmm

I now have DD1 stinking cold on Friday I got shingles. My throat hurts I have a banging headache and I ache. I had my booster on Wednesday too. The joint pain isn't fun since. Stupidly also got a coil last Tues and my vagina hurts. Incidently also up the 3rd time tonight...( which is actually quite good for her) for a breast feed. Feeling utterly exhausted. At 6m she still wakes 5-6x a night Confused... I've got it all going on.

33goingon64 · 13/12/2021 03:55

Awake worrying about my Mum who's sleeping downstairs. She's terminally ill and has been doing well until the last couple of days. I'm visiting until later on this morning and am worried about leaving her. Have been googling what to do when someone dies at home because I woke up realising I didn't actually know. Now I can't get back to sleep.

Hellhath · 13/12/2021 03:57

I woke up very hot and sweaty and instantly convinced I've caught covid from a gig on friday even though I'm double vaxxed and boosted. I've been to the loo and I'm fine now, just too many blankets. But now im hungry but I'll wake the dog if I potter downstairs

RobertSmithsLipstick · 13/12/2021 03:57

Oh bloody hell.
How horrible for you.
I'm not surprised you cant sleep now.

sashh · 13/12/2021 03:58

@RobertSmithsLipstick I'll stick some toast down the side of the space key, it shouldn't be too squashed when it gets to you.

Starbonnet123 · 13/12/2021 03:58

Absolutely knackered , got work in 5 hours but I've been up with stomach cramps for the past hour .
I'm 57 surely pmt and periods should have stopped by now ????????? I've been in peri menopause for 7 years and I'm fed up of the monthly cramps which feel like my insides are falling out .
Why do the bastards always get me at night ? I've had ibuprofen but it's not even taking the edge off , my eyes are burning , I WANT TO GO TO SLEEP ahhhhhhhhggggg .
I hope you all get some rest and peace soon , big hugs to you all xxxxx

maa32 · 13/12/2021 03:58

DS1 has had a temperature all day, he woke up at 2:30 and after fluids and Calpol he can't settle, but temp has come down. We're currently sat downstairs with a drink watching Christmas films.

My first day of a new job tomorrow and I've been awake since 2:30 Shock

RobertSmithsLipstick · 13/12/2021 03:59
Sad Thanks. Granary would be nice, if you could.
RobertSmithsLipstick · 13/12/2021 03:59

That was supposed to be a smiley face, but meh.
I'm tired.

Agadorsparticus · 13/12/2021 04:01

I've been up at 3am for the last week or so. I don't know why? Peri menopause arriving or stress of moving house and Xmas.

RobertSmithsLipstick · 13/12/2021 04:03

I've done bog all for Christmas.
I just don't feel well enough.
Can barely manage the basics.

HelloDaisy · 13/12/2021 04:04

I’m awake as have strange palpitations in my chest. I couldn’t get to sleep unti 2.30 and have just woken up so no sleep for me tonight!

I had moderna booster on Friday and apart from a sore arm have been fine.

However, felt really hot when I went to bed, no temperature though, and that started a cycle of anxiety about breathing and if it was a side effect of vaccine.

All my obs are fine though so wondering if it’s menopause or anxiety rather than anything serious..

HelloDaisy · 13/12/2021 04:04

Peri menopause that should be

RobertSmithsLipstick · 13/12/2021 04:06

It could be.
You'll have to keep am eye on yourself though.

sarah13xx · 13/12/2021 04:13

I’m up with my 4 month old who’s slept all night every night since 6 weeks old, mainly due to our good routine I think. The in-laws came to visit us today as I’d put him down for a nap because he was so overtired. They continually pestered him in his Moses basket, even after I asked them to leave him alone. They answered me back and told me he was awake because he wanted to see them! I asked multiple times. He didn’t get to sleep and now low and behold he’s up screaming the house down, even after being changed and a bottle. Absolutely livid at them 😑

WineAway · 13/12/2021 04:13

Menopausal sweats. Here
@Bloodybridget snap I always spend part of the night awake.

NatMoz · 13/12/2021 04:21

@UniformSchmooniform

Just used an app to track contractions and they seem to be 8 minutes apart at the moment so baby doesn't seem to be ready to pop quite yet. Something is certainly happening though!

Husband is blissfully unaware, I won't wake him and panic him until 6am which is his usual wake time.

HelloDaisy · 13/12/2021 04:22

@RobertSmithsLipstick

I don't feel well. Havent for ages, and am living a kind of half life at the moment. Awake when I I shouldn't be, asleep when its awake time. Woke up with my heart pounding so loudly it was reverberating through my matress.
That’s how my Peri menopause started. I was in and out of a&e frequently with chest pain, always during the night, until eventually I saw the cardiologist who said my heart was fine and it was likely to be menopausal.

Keep nagging your gp until all tests have been done and they have a plan to help you.

How exciting for you. You’re good not to wake him up, I’d have woken dh up to join the excitement!

With my first dc, my waters broke all over my friends carpet in her porch, completely flooded the place and all we could do was stand there and laugh. She shouted to her dp to get me a towel and he got me a small sanitary towel - not sure how he thought that would be any good whatsoever!!

Good luck with your day x

sashh · 13/12/2021 04:31

@NatMoz is this PFB? If so you are the only person I have known other than my brother's wife, to be so calm.

When my SIL went into labour they thought it would take a while so went to the cinema.

The baby arrived in the early hours and @maa32 my brother started his new job later that morning.

Good luck to those of you with new jobs / interviews.

Does anyone want to hand over a toddler / baby for half an hour?

Mrsbrownsbuoys · 13/12/2021 04:34

I'm awake too. Just got up and made myself a (decaff) coffee, back in bed now. I can hear birds tweeting outside. I struggle to get to sleep, too much on my mind and can't switch off. I've finished my book and can't be bothered to get a new one.

Hope you all manage to sleep soon.

IAmSantaOhYesIAm · 13/12/2021 04:41

Awake because hey, it was 3am and I needed a wee and now I can’t back to sleep……
15 years ago I was like @NatMoz and in labour……my ds was born at 11.10 am…… birthday celebrations Smile

BurnedToast · 13/12/2021 04:42

Perimenopause means I wake every day at about this time. Mulling over time spent at my sister's house yesterday where she spent the whole time making digs at me. She was on the verge of divorcing my spiteful BIL a few months ago. After years of keeping my opinions about the arse to myself and after a specific incident involving my other sister where BIL excelled himself with his spite , I told Dsis what I thought of him. She has since back tracked and is now making out he is the most amazing , best husband in the universe. Hmm Never mind the drug addiction, cheating and bullying he does..Her focus seems to be on making digs about anything she thinks may bother mr instead. Very tedious..
