I knew the papers would have something on him. Let see if he's still Teflon after this.

Forion · 12/12/2021 01:02

It's just one thing after another. Ds1 reckons there's worse to come.

Of course he’s Teflon, he’s saint Boris of Brexit, those people who support him can’t admit he’s a despicable lying shyster because that would be admitting they were taken in by a despicable lying shyster. Look at the last 18 months ‘oh he’s doing his best’ even now people are defending him, saying why drag it up it was a year ago.

Cummings said there were photos. I hope there are some good ones. Maybe him kissing someone under the mistletoe
minipie · 12/12/2021 01:06

Dominic Cummings is an utter weasel but if he has something in his hoard that sees off Boris he’ll have done one good thing in his life.

FlibbertyGiblets · 12/12/2021 01:06

It will just slide off him.

Booklover3 · 12/12/2021 01:07

I also reckon there’s more to come

Forion · 12/12/2021 01:09

People are angry though and his rivals must be involved in this leakage.

That’s the only thing we can depend on with Johnson, there’s always more to come

Forion · 12/12/2021 01:12

I bet Cummings has shedloads of evidence.

He's hardly St Boris but I just can't get excited about a meeting of people who had already spent the day working together. 12 months ago.
No it shouldn't have happened but there is always someone ignoring the rules. Celebrities, politicians of all flavours, whoever.

nancy75 · 12/12/2021 01:19

There we go, always an excuse.
Celebrities don’t run the country or make the rules.

Hospedia · 12/12/2021 01:22

It's pretty clear the knives are out for him.

When Caroline Nokes spoke about Stanley Johnson harassing her and touching her she said she didn't speak up at rhe time because of who he is, who his son is, and the potential for it to harm her career. She obviously now isn't worried it will harm her career which says to me that Johnson has very little clout left.

The constant leaks from within his own party.

The press beginning to turn against him. There will definitely be more to come out about him. Ilthey reported there was a party and waited for him to deny it then provided video evidence. They reported there were multiple parties and waited for him to deny it and rhen again produced video evidence, slowly eroding his credibility (weak as it was to begin with) and there is a real sense that they're slowly feeding him just enough rope.

He'll be gone by Easter, if he lasts that long.

LadyWithLapdog · 12/12/2021 01:26

They must hate each other, surely, and have stuff on each other and leak some more. Looking forward to that.

Hospedia · 12/12/2021 01:28

He's hardly St Boris but I just can't get excited about a meeting of people who had already spent the day working together. 12 months ago.

Twelve months ago when roughly 500 people a day were dying and upwards of 30,000 were being infected. Twelve months ago when people care home were unable to see their loved ones. Twelve months ago when people were dying alone without the comfort of their families around them. Twelve months ago when funeral numbers were restricted, weddings were cancelled, people were facing spending Christmas alone, jobs were being lost due to the economy nosediving, mental health was taking a battering, whole schools of children were being sent home for ten days at a time due to the spread of cases, and we were hurtling towards another lockdown while the government kept constantly reminding us "we're all in this together" and "follow the rules so that we can beat this thing"? That twelve months ago?

Their behaviour was morally - and legally - wrong.

Tealightsandd · 12/12/2021 01:32

Heaven help us (but particularly the vulnerable) if those with the knives out succeed. I've been highly critical of the 'let the bodies pile up' life and economy costing approach. But - those who want to get rid of Boris right now....well, be careful what you wish for.

Remember what happened when Hancock was replaced? He was against 'Freeeeddddooom day' aka letting up to 200 a day be killed by Covid (and many more left with Long Covid). His successor described 1000s of deaths a week as 'low' numbers. Sajid also supported dismissing expert advice including the WHO, and instead of going for Vaccine Plus, relying on Vaccine Just. And here we are facing another bad winter with much higher rates of infection, hospitalisation, and death, than the Vaccine Plus countries.

If Boris goes right now, we could end up with Silent But Deadly Rishi Sunak.

Sunak was even more enthusiastic about piling up bodies than Boris, and he has also significantly worsened the public health housing and homelessness emergency.

We need changes, yes, but we need to be careful about when and how. And be mindful about the motivations of those who currently have the knives out.

Yep, but the teflon seems to have worn thin, the knives are out for him, and his own party seem to be manipulating his downfall. He doesn't seem to have any integrity and one of his party recently described him as a "scatterbrain". I think he's outstayed his welcome. Bye bye Bojo.
Tealightsandd · 12/12/2021 01:45

The far right of his party want him gone because he isn't willing to let quite as many bodies pile up as they are.

Akire · 12/12/2021 01:47

The photos are really dull, him in separate room On laptop staff at own desks taking part in the quiz. If anything it plays to the if there was a party it was such much like work it wasn’t a party narrative. There must be some bloody good proper photos or the party out there mind now can’t wait to see those.

NotAshamedToFancyTheGrinch · 12/12/2021 01:50

More importantly, did anyone get the quiz question, “how many children does Boris have” correct?

Seemslikeagoodidea · 12/12/2021 01:52

PS - I am now inspired to amend the lyrics of an old Bay City Roller hit....

Bye bye Bojo
Bojo bye bye
Bye Bye Bojo
Don't make us cry

There's no reason for you to linger
As your party gives you the finger
Gee, how good that would be!

Maybe the plan is to let him give his excuse that it was just work & then release the photos taken the same night - with him dressed as a French maid, swigging straight from a bottle of Bolly while humping the Christmas tree. I wouldn’t expect any less of him.

Grin
Akire · 12/12/2021 01:56

Grin there has to be some right!

nancy75 · 12/12/2021 02:00

I’ll be disappointed if there aren’t!
