@NotAshamedToFancyTheGrinch

More importantly, did anyone get the quiz question, “how many children does Boris have” correct?
you win the thread.!!!
Vapeyvapevape · 12/12/2021 02:04

Who took the photo?

Lyrics contd...

Bye bye Bojo
Bojo bye bye
Bye bye Bojo
Bojo bye bye

Should have voted for someone better
But they fell for your witty banter
Oh, but now the joke's painfully thin

Grin Well, to be fair, that figure has recently increased, so it's hard to keep track. Anyway, we all know that maths is not Bojo's strong point - remember the figure on the side of the battle bus?
Kanaloa · 12/12/2021 02:20

Quelle surprise. The man’s stupidity is surpassed only by his lack of shame.

@MintJulia

He's hardly St Boris but I just can't get excited about a meeting of people who had already spent the day working together. 12 months ago. No it shouldn't have happened but there is always someone ignoring the rules. Celebrities, politicians of all flavours, whoever.
I suppose the point is that the people who are making the rules and telling all the rest of us to follow them really shouldn’t be the ones ignoring them.

Munya has Boris' party down pat.... Xmas Grin

RobertSmithsLipstick · 12/12/2021 02:25

Number 10s response is that it was just a virtual quiz, and the plonkers in the christmas hat and tinsel had popped in to help with a technical issue.

He’d literally just told milllions of Londoners not to meet, not to have a work party. Then hosted one.
Justcannotbearsed · 12/12/2021 02:44

And how much do his staff hate him that they are releasing these photos….?

Justcannotbearsed · 12/12/2021 02:45

And he’s also categorically denied knowing a party was taking place….

StrongSunglasses · 12/12/2021 03:02

I don’t have an issue with the fact there was parties/quiz etc, just that there were ANY restrictions on anyone else at the same time.

And not because I think they did something beyond the pale because it was very dangerous in any way, but because it should always be a personal choice down to individual risk assessment and fear level, as opposed to some imposed unacceptable level of power into personal choice of behaviour and association.

I’m not repelled at a party, the point is that we should ALL have been “allowed” to party similarly if we were similarly concerned as that group that were fine to crack on - I feel/felt safe as well now and at that time, so don’t appreciate the totalitarianism from hypocrites… but definitely nothing stricter needed or a tooth-sucking disapprover nudging us back into a harder line; it’s ridiculous.

That Munya video is hilarious.

Kier Starmer where are you? step up !! Speak out!

Driposaurus · 12/12/2021 06:01

If the circumstances weren’t as terrible, it would be better, but the slow drip, drip of tightening the screws on him is excruciatingly brilliant to watch. Time and again Johnson has evaded the crap, but sustained over a period of weeks up to a by-election - brilliant.

camelfinger · 12/12/2021 06:07

He’s fucking useless, no one else could get away with this degree of selfishness and ineptitude, especially not a Labour politician.

NHS staff who worked together all day and all night through harrowing circumstances were instructed not to have get togethers.

SamhainToImbolc · 12/12/2021 06:12

Johnson made too many enemies in the media when he worked at various newspapers before entering politics. They have been waiting for this moment. The rope had been ready to be handed to him from the moment he entered No.10. It was only a matter of time.

tistheseeson · 12/12/2021 06:22

Someone in the comments has suggested there is a bin bag over the camera in the top left corner.

I realise we are all adults and we are capable of making our own decisions and that following the rules was the right thing to do at the time. However, I can't help but feel a little foolish that I followed them so stringently when all this was going on at the top. Lead by example. Isn't that something you learn from a very young age. Oh Boris, surely he can't survive this?

It’s not that they did it I mind, it’s the lying through his teeth about it I can’t thole.

@Tealightsandd

Heaven help us (but particularly the vulnerable) if those with the knives out succeed. I've been highly critical of the 'let the bodies pile up' life and economy costing approach. But - those who want to get rid of Boris right now....well, be careful what you wish for.

Remember what happened when Hancock was replaced? He was against 'Freeeeddddooom day' aka letting up to 200 a day be killed by Covid (and many more left with Long Covid). His successor described 1000s of deaths a week as 'low' numbers. Sajid also supported dismissing expert advice including the WHO, and instead of going for Vaccine Plus, relying on Vaccine Just. And here we are facing another bad winter with much higher rates of infection, hospitalisation, and death, than the Vaccine Plus countries.

If Boris goes right now, we could end up with Silent But Deadly Rishi Sunak.

Sunak was even more enthusiastic about piling up bodies than Boris, and he has also significantly worsened the public health housing and homelessness emergency.

We need changes, yes, but we need to be careful about when and how. And be mindful about the motivations of those who currently have the knives out.

I totally agree with this. The man acts like a a fool and a buffoon for sure. For all his sociopathic tendencies, somewhere inside there is a good heart. Sunac appears to lean more toward the psychopathic. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Laughing at quiz question of how many children he has.

And as above there is the question of who took the photo.

KangSaeByeok · 12/12/2021 06:47

Slightly fear that photo has backfired. It definitely doesn't look like the kind of party people are raging about. It feels a bit 'Oh is that it, that's not so bad'

According to Twitter (make your own mind up about the validity of that) the photo was taken in the press room - which makes sense on the leak as he's thrown them in the under the bus.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 12/12/2021 06:52

I'm not a Boris fan, but the rules precluded meetings where it was primarily socialising. They'd already been working together that day. Having a quiz that was mostly distanced wasn't increasing risk of exposure.

I think Cummings is stirring up shit. Can't stand that guy.

Egghead68 · 12/12/2021 07:00

I don’t think a photo of someone on a Zoom quiz is damning (unfortunately).

I don't know about this. Time spent with people = increased risk of transmission. It stands to reason that you minimise time spent with people as they could be incubating the virus and the longer you spend with them, the higher the risk is. It's not just a case of 'well, I've been in the same room as you now, we must have swapped germs'.
