It's not the same party as THE party though, is it? The one he denied knowing about?

I thought this was a different occasion, where he was on a zoom quiz but also in the room with people that worked together that he claimed was still 'work'.

Justcannotbearsed · 12/12/2021 08:59

When people who were working incredibly hard and in close proximity in hospitals, meat plants, schools were told not to socialise together…I can get pissed off with a prime minister not thinking through that that might apply to his staff too….

DailyFailstinks · 12/12/2021 09:25

@StrongSunglasses - agree completely! It’s the hypocrisy that really gets to me.

LadyWithLapdog · 12/12/2021 09:28

So if you party with work colleagues it's called work. If it's work, did the fuckers also get paid for their party time?

If there was a way for these people to have a party & get paid for it you can bet your life they did.
MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 09:47

This story is over cooked

Not as smart as initial leak people will be fed up with non events

LadyWithLapdog · 12/12/2021 09:56

You can always rely on the Tory faithful to minimise their failings.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 10:00

How can people care at this point about a virtual quiz

Labour supporter or not it’s a non story

LadyWithLapdog · 12/12/2021 10:04

I care because they lied at a critical time and forever since b

LadyWithLapdog · 12/12/2021 10:05

It's bizarre that some find fault with those who care rather than the hypocrites in charge. Moral compass obviously not working.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 10:06

I think you are whipped up by the media too easily.

Ability to think is this a big deal not working.

Effibreast · 12/12/2021 10:07

A non story because you say so. And his ethics advisor threatening to resign @MarshaBradyo? That a storm in a tea cup too ?

Effibreast · 12/12/2021 10:09

Christ the eagerness to let this lying shyster of the hook is unbelievable. But hey we aren't allowed to score political points. Not like it's the first time he's lied is it ?

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 10:09

Over a virtual quiz?

ohfourfoxache · 12/12/2021 10:10

The picture of Boris isn’t as bad as I thought it would be

But there are currently 7 separate “parties” being investigated

Suspect that there is more to come

Shallwegoforawalk · 12/12/2021 10:20

@Hospedia

He's hardly St Boris but I just can't get excited about a meeting of people who had already spent the day working together. 12 months ago.

Twelve months ago when roughly 500 people a day were dying and upwards of 30,000 were being infected. Twelve months ago when people care home were unable to see their loved ones. Twelve months ago when people were dying alone without the comfort of their families around them. Twelve months ago when funeral numbers were restricted, weddings were cancelled, people were facing spending Christmas alone, jobs were being lost due to the economy nosediving, mental health was taking a battering, whole schools of children were being sent home for ten days at a time due to the spread of cases, and we were hurtling towards another lockdown while the government kept constantly reminding us "we're all in this together" and "follow the rules so that we can beat this thing"? That twelve months ago?

Their behaviour was morally - and legally - wrong.

👏👏👏 exactly what I've been thinking - all those people who died alone. Heart breaking.

LadyWithLapdog · 12/12/2021 10:22

A quiz of 4x6 people he presided over, plus the ones he was in the same room with.

It wasn’t a virtual quiz, there were people socialising together after work, going to different rooms and groups, they’d all had covid and didn’t care. Not a defence in the courts. They weren’t thinking that what they were doing was banned in London.

He's hardly St Boris but I just can't get excited about a meeting of people who had already spent the day working together. 12 months ago. No it shouldn't have happened but there is always someone ignoring the rules. Celebrities, politicians of all flavours, whoever.
A single mum on benefits received an £800 fine for looking after another child during that time due to laws imposed by Boris. People were prevented from seeing their loved ones as they died due to Boris saying these kind of meet ups can't happen. How on earth can you not get upset about it, it's utterly shocking - not the meeting of 12 people that work together during a pandemic. I agree not a big deal, but the meeting of these 12 people under these particular circumstances!
OhWhyNot · 12/12/2021 10:35

I think there needs to be something more and get it out soon

This can also backfire as Cummings isn’t liked and it’s looks so personal. The PM has better things to do than have to fight off a vendetta

Frazzled2207 · 12/12/2021 10:37

I don’t think that pic by itself is that bad. At the end of the day it’s a zoom quiz. But arguably they should have had more important things to do that day.

I think what could easily capsize the ship would be a pic at THE party that has been so strenuously denied. Or the one at his flat.

But as others have said I’d be very worried about a replacement PM. According the Twitter it will be between Sunak and LIZ TRUSS. Jeez.

Dahliasrule · 12/12/2021 10:38

So the two people we can see in the picture with Boris were there to help him with technology? Obviously his lunchtime sessions with Jennifer Arcturus to improve his IT skills didn’t cover everything.

Dahliasrule · 12/12/2021 10:39

Sorry, Arcuri

ancientgran · 12/12/2021 10:46

@Egghead68

I don’t think a photo of someone on a Zoom quiz is damning (unfortunately).
He was sitting with two other people, that was breaking the lockdown laws.
ancientgran · 12/12/2021 10:48

@MarshaBradyo

Over a virtual quiz?
The people sitting with him weren't virtual were they.
