What “popular” tv shows could you never get into?

I remember reading all the hype on tiger king so thought I would give it a go. I could not get into it. At all. I think I gave it 3 episodes before I said fuck it and switched it off

The walking dead. Now annoyingly I really enjoyed this at first. Then the story went off from zombies and started focusing more on the “bad people” and I got fed up. I think the last episode I ever watched before I decided enough was enough was when Karl got bit.

Miranda. Bloody awful.
Little Britain

FionnulaTheCooler · 10/12/2021 17:17

Game of Thrones. Too complicated and too violent for my taste.

Also the film Airplane. DH thinks it's hilarious, I just don't get it and I've never managed to get through the whole thing.

I enjoyed The Walking Dead at first, then it was just lather, rinse, repeat of the same old stories.
I couldn't get into Downton Abbey.

Gilead · 10/12/2021 17:19

Game of Thrones,
Miranda
Friends.

MrsMcCluskeysCat · 10/12/2021 17:20

Peaky blinders

StColumbofNavron · 10/12/2021 17:21

The Wire and Breaking Bad.

Soubriquet · 10/12/2021 17:21

Some (most) of these I haven’t even tried watching as they aren’t really my thing Grin

Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead. Anything a bit too sci-fi, violent, or horror.

ImInStealthMode · 10/12/2021 17:22

Killing Eve. Tried 2 episodes and couldn't care less about either lead character so gave it up as a bad job.

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 10/12/2021 17:22

Gavin and Stacey. I watched it all hoping it would improve. It never did.

MedusasBadHairDay · 10/12/2021 17:25

Lost. Drag Race. Fleabag.

Just couldn't get on with them, despite thinking that I'd probably like them.

Ghostsintheshelf · 10/12/2021 17:26

Also The Tiger King
Battlestar Galactica. I hated the decor - all the chrome and artificial lighting that comes with space shows. Really depresses me not to see any proper outdoors stuff.
Mr Robot
I tried about 3 minutes of Peaky Blinders and The Americans.

ChessieFL · 10/12/2021 17:27

Sex And The City. On paper it was something I might have liked but just couldn’t stick with it.

Ghostsintheshelf · 10/12/2021 17:27

Oh I couldn't get into Gavin and Stacey either.

Ghostsintheshelf · 10/12/2021 17:29

Peter Kaye's Car Share

Tayegete · 10/12/2021 17:37

At lot of these Breaking Bad, Killing Eve, Fleabag. Also After Life. Loved SATC though.

FindingMeno · 10/12/2021 17:40

Most of them.
I have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to TV and a distinct lack of commitment to series.

GucciBear · 10/12/2021 17:40

Miranda - so puerile. Absolutely Fabulous.

PaddingtonsHat · 10/12/2021 17:44

Breaking bad. Fell asleep in episode 1 3 separate times

Cattenberg · 10/12/2021 17:44

I bought Little Britain was funny, especially Vicky Pollard, until a reviewer pointed out that the message was “aren’t women disgusting?” I watched it again and realised that reviewer was correct.

bizboz · 10/12/2021 17:45

You - I thought the plotline was ludicrous.

TheVanguardSix · 10/12/2021 17:45

Gavin and Stacey
The Royle Family
So many, really. Most sitcoms starring famous comedians tend not to win me over.
Though Ricky Gervais' After Life is brilliant and solid. Still, I can't get into it (my brother died this year from cancer and I think it's a bit close to the bone perhaps).
So many misses. But when it hits, it hits and there are definitely a few solid gold series out there.

LightSpeeds · 10/12/2021 17:47

Strictly Come Dancing (I tried sooooo many times to enjoy this)
Friends
Breaking Bad

FestiveFruitloop · 10/12/2021 17:47

Breaking Bad (yaaaawn) and Line of Duty.
