Have seen a Jack Wills gym bag/ smelliest set for a 16 year old boy. Being the wrong side of 40 I've no idea if this is cool or not Grin but do remember the absolute horror of having something with the wrong label!
Could anyone with a teenage boy please check this vital information for me please :)

DS2 (15) said "a what? Never heard of it" Grin

SSOYS · 06/12/2021 16:52

Not cool to DS.

Evenstar · 06/12/2021 16:54

My 18 year old would like Jack Wills, presents of smellies and clothes from relatives were well received last Christmas and are still in use.

DS14 is very into his labels and says Jack Wills is for dads trying to be cool.

🤣🤣 God - teens are brutal 😆

'Dad's trying to be cool' Grin
This was what I was afraid of!
Is super dry better? (Rucksack and smellies. I'm trawling the boots website!)

No, not really cool at all. DH is more likely to wear Jack Wills than DS is. DS unfortunately is like most young people his age - and wears clothes from North Face etc.

No, superdry is worse, it's for grandads trying to be cool 😂
Helpimfalling · 06/12/2021 16:59

Depends what walk of life there from.

My kids are a little more maybe (street)
Due to our area or walk of life.
They wouldn't really like it.

Nike or Jordan or north face would be a better bet.

Super dry is also the same

Jack wills was cool about 10-15 years ago when it was a fairly expensive, exclusive preppy brand favoured by public school types. Since then it's been bought by Mike Ashley who sells it at a discount in Sports Direct. To say it's lost something along the way is an understatement! So, definitely not cool, sorry.

bestbefore · 06/12/2021 17:01

What's your budget?

Builtthiscityonsausagerolls · 06/12/2021 17:04

Oh dear.
Im really not with it Sad

@Builtthiscityonsausagerolls how about a voucher for jd or something (shop of choice)

He can buy then whatever he likes

Builtthiscityonsausagerolls · 06/12/2021 17:05

Budget up to £30. Closer to £20 if possible but could stretch for cool auntie points Grin

I generally would steer away from boots gift sets too?

The bag or whatever says ‘Jack Wills’ is literally made just for the gift set.

This is a North Face wash bag if that’s the sort of thing you were after

justaweeone · 06/12/2021 17:06

Voucher( amazon, love to shop voucher, Nando's etc) and some chocolate

AnImposter · 06/12/2021 17:07

North face gloves are on offer at ASOS reduced from 35 to 25? Grin

justaweeone · 06/12/2021 17:08

Or north face t shirt

emmathedilemma · 06/12/2021 17:08

Having spent the weekend Xmas shopping with a couple of owners of teenage boys I would suggest anything bearing a Nike, North Face or Adidas logo should be acceptable.

Hellocatshome · 06/12/2021 17:09

Oh goodness not SuperDry that is worse!!! I would honestly go for a voucher for Foot Asylum or JD Sports. I live with my teenage boy and I still wouldn't dare buy anything for fear of getting it wrong! Vouchers or money all the way.

Builtthiscityonsausagerolls · 06/12/2021 17:09

I've already got him some chocolate. I was trying to stay away from vouchers as I think that's what I've got him every year since he turned 12! With good reason it seems....

GoodnightGrandma · 06/12/2021 17:10

No to the Jack Wills, yes to a Nando’s or Amazon voucher.
My son used to like those points you can but for X-Box/PS at that age.

Suprima · 06/12/2021 17:10

Stay away from a gift set- naff

A north face washbag is a nice idea

Youaremypenguin · 06/12/2021 17:10

Nike or Addis are pretty safe. The rest are very dependant on friendship groups!
