Have seen a Jack Wills gym bag/ smelliest set for a 16 year old boy. Being the wrong side of 40 I've no idea if this is cool or not Grin but do remember the absolute horror of having something with the wrong label!
Could anyone with a teenage boy please check this vital information for me please :)

@WeatherwaxLives

I'm reeling here!

North Face? Adidas? Champion? Berghaus? CK one? Ellesse?

Have I actually slipped through a wormhole to the 90s? Except I'm not sure these were really cool even then. Except CK one obviously. But only if it was on a girl.

How about Donnay and Head?! GrinWink

Don’t forget Fila!
HowRudeolfYou · 06/12/2021 21:04

@Pellewsmate

The last thread I wanted to read after just ordering some JW for DS18 and DS13.
My 16 year old chose a JW coat today themselves. With their own money. I wouldn't worry too much.
HarrisMcCoo · 06/12/2021 21:06

@Hellocatshome

DS14 is very into his labels and says Jack Wills is for dads trying to be cool.
Don't hold back 🤣🤣🤣

North face here as well - 18 daughter (boys) friends all working/apprenticeship or at uni ..recent cold snap all had there north face coats on! I dont think they are roadmap types.
After my daughter refusing to wear it came home from uni for the weekend took it back with her as it was warm!!

As others said depends on the teenager - a few of her friends would buy from urban or vinted (environmentally friendly) or north face/Nike etc

And yes she recently brought a champion sweater …even I raised an eyebrow thinking how is that back in (I’m not sure it ever was!) but apparently it is now …minefield

ssd · 06/12/2021 21:31

Only certain champion is in

But dont ask me which one Grin

If my son could have my diadora and first ever Nike airs including the tashchini tracksuit etc...,

He'd be BESIDE himself 🤣🤣

Puffalicious · 06/12/2021 21:55

Champion has been back in for a while- DS1 bought a tshirt in Spring and has joggers and socks too. Subtle, though, black with a small C. DS2 is ALL about the retro-as-many colours as possible! He's presently sporting Ex- DH 80s multi-coloured Champion hoody (remember the ones woth arms and body and hood all different colours? He thinks it's the bomb!)

ThisMustBeMyDream · 06/12/2021 22:56

@SSOYS I raise you Kappa Grin.
My other half actually bought some Kappa trainers last year. I pretend I'm not with him when he wears them Grin.

My 19 year old DS is all over those white sports socks too (Vans I think his are). He does his own washing now, and every Sunday morning I wake up to find my machine going with 14 effing white socks on their own "special" wash Hmm.
Mine wouldn't be seen dead in any of the sports brands, unless in his shoes. He wears Vans, and the rest is Asos and Boohooman pretty much. Brands don't bother him much.
Teenage boys are so bloody hard to buy for unless they have specific but wide ranged interests 🤣. Mine is getting mostly food and cash this year because it's otherwise pointless.

HeirOfSlytherin · 06/12/2021 22:59

Gonna crack out my Berghaus later btw. I always knew I was the hight of fashion Wink.
Anyone know when Sweater Shop jumpers are making a comeback BTW? I loved mine. I had this one, last worn 2002 when pregnant with said 19 year old. I miss it's funky colours and print!

bestbefore · 06/12/2021 23:11

@HeirOfSlytherin love it! Have you been in urban outfitters? Maybe crop it and you're right back IN www.urbanoutfitters.com/en-gb/shop/urban-renewal-vintage-black-patterned-cropped-knit-jumper?category=womens-vintage-tops&color=001&type=REGULAR&quantity=1

This is the second North Face - Gucci collection. I shit you not.

Noeuf · 06/12/2021 23:32

Well I think this proves all teenage boys are different. I have three. Current wish lists are:
Ds 1 (very sporty and laddy) - Nike white ankle socks; bullet blender; plain t shirts; cash
Ds2 (nice chirpy kid) book tokens, Costa voucher, Spotify voucher
Ds 3 (asd, quiet, likes the arts) - paint, weird pens, art canvas etc

PhoboPhobia · 06/12/2021 23:35

@Ducksurprise

White, anything bloody white, socks, coats, tops but not trousers (apparently they are not cultivating the snowman look) I make them wash it. Nike and not Addidas here and definitely not JW.

Roadman here is people trying to be hard, all dressed in tracksuits.

My DS is obsessed with white clothes at the moment too. What’s that all about?!
AlwaysLatte · 06/12/2021 23:37

My son is 13 snd prefers Nike and north face. I'd say Jack Wills is more 30s/40s?

Blankscreen · 06/12/2021 23:46

DSS is 17 it's all about North Face or Nike.

Also decided he now likes Palm Angels £225 for a T shirt!!!! Good luck with that

Christmasbird · 06/12/2021 23:53

Just butting in to say roadman is drug dealer 😳
Sorry 😂

Biffsboys · 06/12/2021 23:58

@bestbefore

For those horrified/fascinated about north face being 'in' again - Berghaus is also back - now stocked/ owned by the guys at JD so expect to see that on a teen near you soon Grin www.jdsports.co.uk/men/brand/berghaus/ www.jdsports.co.uk/kids/brand/berghaus/ I had a lovely Berghaus rucksack 30 years ago...! Grin
I was horrified the other day when my 14 year old ds tried to impress me with a berghaus jacket at £150;😩. Not to mention the super expensive Nike tech fleece 😳
JustLikea · 06/12/2021 23:59

Do not even attempt to by a DS clothes without knowing exactly what they want.

Just give them Cash £££ they always love money.

My ds tried to talk me into a palm angels T-shirt - shocking price for a cheap material which would cost £10;if it didn’t have the name 🙄
SpritzingAperol · 07/12/2021 06:04

Dangerous territory if you don't know what they're into .

Go money in a pair of nike socks.

Oh yes, Palm Angels, my 17 year old DD was salivating over a Palm Angels sweatshirt in the shop the other week but they are wayyy too pricey!
BigSandyBalls2015 · 07/12/2021 09:59

This is funny. DD was looking at 90s photos of me and DH recently and couldn’t believe how so much of the stuff we were wearing is trendy again.

TeeBee · 07/12/2021 13:18

My son keeps scouring vintage shops for the exact same items of clothes his dad used to wear 18 years ago...I daren't tell him :-D
