Have seen a Jack Wills gym bag/ smelliest set for a 16 year old boy. Being the wrong side of 40 I've no idea if this is cool or not Grin but do remember the absolute horror of having something with the wrong label!
Could anyone with a teenage boy please check this vital information for me please :)

🤣
I'm afraid not. the younger ones are arguing about something so mind numbingly boring I'm gonna make a coffee and hide in my nook now!

So a roadman is not a guy who works on the roads then

Nope apparently not, according to DS they are wanna be drug dealers who think they are hard and call everybody 'fam'

Yes, Korean food and just Korean stuff in general is popular with the youth. My DD is really into anything Korean, or Japanese. Food, music, stationery, TV shows etc. She got into it via anime and K-Pop I think.

I've asked ds (14yo) he says if you're buying for him there's a cool gaming laptop for only around £3k he'd love*... but if you're not buying for him he doesn't have a clue as he's not cool either.

  • He's already been told it's not happening. Grin

Is north face cool? Wow never been cool before. My waterproof trousers are north face (20 years old so from when they were an outdoor brand!)

@Hellocatshome

DS14 is very into his labels and says Jack Wills is for dads trying to be cool.

Roadmen here wear head to toe black North face and hang around in packs outside the chippy, on bmx bikes, often carrying drug dealers bags

This thread is making me laugh!

I've got 19yo & 15yo ds's, but they are so far from cool (as am I) that I can't comment on what's in or not!

19yo pretty much lives in Tesco F&F stuff, plus a Superdry hoodie which is a replacement for the one his last girlfriend got him that was falling apart.

15yo seems to be in 2nd hand ebay mode, his current favourite is a Next jacket that makes him look like a binman from the 70's, and a khaki bomber jacker that the bloke I'm seeing passed on.

Neither would appreciate smellies gift sets, although they would like shower gel as I keep telling them that soap is more environmental friendly (according to ds2 it doesn't clean as well 🤨🤨).

Both of them would look like this 🤔 if someone gave them a Costa voucher. Neither drink coffee and certainly don't hang round in coffee shops.

Wish I had some ideas, cos then I'd have more than chocolate and socks (and ds2 has already had his as he said a couple of weeks ago all his socks had holes in) for them for Christmas!

For those horrified/fascinated about north face being 'in' again - Berghaus is also back - now stocked/ owned by the guys at JD so expect to see that on a teen near you soon Grin www.jdsports.co.uk/men/brand/berghaus/

I had a lovely Berghaus rucksack 30 years ago...! Grin

Oh I was desperate for a berghaus coat! I had the rockport shoes but my mum was adamant I had a ‘girly’ coat. Maybe now is my time Grin.

Just consulted 20 year old DS who says 'no one' wears Jacks Wills...sorry OP!

He said if you're going for a gym bag, go for a Nike one. This is there he has.

Are you my SIL? She was despairing at me about similar conversation with DS :o

Try "weird" foods - if you have an Asian supermarket or Turkish or anywhere like that, imported snacks, instant noodles etc go down well.

My DS 14 would not want Jack Wills but would be polite about it if you received it

Anything from Nike or North face would be his dream - for his recent birthday he wanted aftershave and he is very chuffed with what he received-IDeisel Only the Brave and a CK one

Apart from that his list includes a Teddy bear fleece from Dunelm !

Designer pants - never met a teenager who doesn't like CK boxers! don't be tempted with the coloured ones though to save money, they need to be the black ones with the white waistband

Report
downtonupton · 06/12/2021 19:05

My teenage boy would hate North Face or Under Armor - I do think it very much depends on the teen and their interests - mine likes things you can buy at Urban Outfitters (they do good sales) ... his favourite hoodie (UO own brand) and coat (Dickies) came from there. He only wears converse shoes - except for playing football when it is Adidas or Puma... Levi's jeans, other than that he is happy with a 5 pack of plain t-shirts form Next or a H&M jumper... really OP we would need to know what your nephew is in to to give any real suggestions.

Champion I'd cool again too, can you believe it?!

My 16y old boy is suddenly into Hugo Boss (no ds, you're not getting a HB suit for sixth form), after previously living in scratty head to toe Nike. They all like sliders. Nike/Adidas fine, Versace, aspirational.

I have a wannabe road man at home and it’s all about hoodrich, Nike and north face. Although I was gobsmacked when he suggested Berghaus was an acceptable brand for him and his also wannabe road man friends .

Actually I've just thought of something my then 13 yo got from an uncle last year and still loves and that's a beanie with integrated headphones.
