I have a degree in English literature but I bloody love those cheesey Christmas books that you can buy at supermarkets. Grin

Love cheesy Christmas movies also.

(I'm also Jewish, but my Christmas love is real. DH takes the piss bigtime) Grin It might be because I did not celebrate christmas at all until I met DH. What a wonderful festival! Bloody loved going to Lapland to see Santa as well.

Winter Solstice is my favourite Rosamunde Pilcher. I read it every year. And once I recreated the picnic the characters had at the Billicliffe house- soup laced with sherry, real ham etc.

I also once went through all my Famous Fives and wrote down every meal they had then tried to take my indoor-loving DCs on a proper picnic.

(It did not go as planned. My child-rearing fantasies are very different from reality with a SEN pre-teen who is afraid of grass). Grin

Sometimes I colour in my children's homework so it's completed faster Wink

IcedWinterPenguin · 04/12/2021 09:21

Love that!

Ditto - two degrees, read a lot of "intelligent" non-fiction, genuinely list The Good Soldier by Ford Madox Ford as my favourite book... but spend most of my time reading Kindle Unlimited romantic trash.

And the proper secret is that I also write it in my free time.

Another vote for trashy Netflix shows, currently watching series 4 of Selling Sunset ...omg completely OTT. Below Deck is another secret TV series of mine.

OneOfTheGrundys · 04/12/2021 10:16

What’s the show in New York/LA where they sell the mega expensive houses? Millionaire something. Love that too.

squashyhat · 04/12/2021 10:22

Yoghurt coated banana chips. I buy packets from our local healthfood shop (coz they are healthy, right?) and hide them from the family.

IcedWinterPenguin · 04/12/2021 10:40

Oh how delicious. I onky go into health food shops to get milk thistle for our dog with liver disease (vet recommended). I need to look out for yoghurt banana chips.

After I use stock cubes I lick the packet they came in - mmm salty deliciousness Blush

Also, on the surface I look successful but every achievement is from procrastinating from the thing I was meant to be doing - noone keeps track of the failures because noone is told about them Wink

ItsSunnyOutside · 04/12/2021 11:12

I'm 35 but love those teen movies on Netflix - Kissing Booth , Never Have I Ever, Etc
I think its because they remind me of all the classic American teen movies I used to watch when I was a teen in the early noughties.

Interrobanger · 04/12/2021 11:13

I work for myself, from home. And on my less busy days I always have a nap in the afternoon.

ItsSunnyOutside · 04/12/2021 11:13

Also eating peanut butter from the jar with a tablespoon. I don't double dip though.

ElephantCup · 04/12/2021 11:14

@gogohm

Trashy reality shows - below deck currently.
I am currently obsessed with Bondi Rescue, it I LOVE below deck
Mammyloveswine · 04/12/2021 12:31

I often spend time planning my imaginary second wedding as a 40 year old divorcee (I'm 35 and still happily married to DH) 🤣🤣

I have a whole Pinterest board!

CaribouCarafe · 04/12/2021 12:42

Omg @Mammyloveswine same Blush.

We had our wedding on a budget though so I missed out on the classic dress shopping experience and loads of other classic wedding experiences that I would have liked to have had (cake tasting/checking out wedding bands etc). Likewise, the engagement ring was silver and wood....which was kooky but not quite in the dream engagement territory!

Obsidiansphere · 04/12/2021 12:47

I love Bondi Rescue too Wink

SofaKingKnotBovvered · 04/12/2021 12:54

i like squirty cheese
There i said it

vampirethriller · 04/12/2021 12:58

I love Jackie Collins and Jilly Cooper. I'm happy with Impulse or Charlie perfume, I like Wetherspoons and I put instant parsley sauce on too many things. I plan for the apocalypse every night before I go to sleep (to date I have a small community all living in caravans, growing veg and keeping chickens.)

MrsMoastyToasty · 04/12/2021 12:59

I could watch Say Yes to The Dress on a loop , 7 days a week. In fact I can watch any wedding related programme.

flashpaper · 04/12/2021 12:59

I suck tomato purée out of the tube.

PetuniaPlum · 04/12/2021 13:01

Judge Judy. I love it.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 04/12/2021 13:06
