These threads depress me, as my very nearly 9 year old couldn’t do this.

The gingerbread person has a neck. Understanding that people have necks and actually drawing them is a distinct stage in child development I believe but I can’t remember at what age!

There writing is quite mature.

My 13 year old would be proud of that. He does not like art though!

I had a debate with my just turned 6 year old about necks recently . She now draws people with necks.

It's older than most are guessing. My 9 year old is jolly artistic and adds load of fiddly detail into her drawings but wouldn't do the stick men at the bottom. Also the neatness of the pen marks etc.

I think it's a teenager who is not good at art. Like 13 or so.

Hmm… my 8 and 6 year olds would both produce something like this. The 6 year old is far neater with her colouring than the 8 year old. It’s very child dependent.

You are one of those people who think the worst right away - unless there is something in my OP to say that I’m have a genius or I’m so proud (there isn’t and I’m not) stop jumping to conclusions and assuming everyone is here for clout.

It was done by an 11 year old who is currently being assessed for being on the spectrum

I think this might be my neighbour, she is 75, and will no doubt include it in her calender that she gives each year of her art work.

This sounds amazing

It all depends. It's the kind of card my dd at age 10 would have produced (takes after my artistic ability, she's musical, drawing is rather a challenge) and I would have bought a pack from school to be nice, where as a friend of hers could produce something like that at age 5.

Drawing is one of those things that you are either great at or not, so it's hard to judge.

To be fair, at age 43, I would probably do worse 🤷🏻‍♀️

As someone else said artistic ability varies greatly between children.
