Just that really

What age would you think did this drawing?
OP posts:

It's not an immature drawing, I actually think it's really good, with lots of detail for an 11 year old. I initially guessed 10-12 as my sons at that age loved to draw stick men too.

9 or 10

You are one of those people who think the worst right away - unless there is something in my OP to say that I’m have a genius or I’m so proud (there isn’t and I’m not) stop jumping to conclusions and assuming everyone is here for clout.

No it’s not a stealth boast

It was done by an 11 year old who is currently being assessed for being on the spectrum[/quote]
I haven’t read the thread OP, just your posts. My son is on the spectrum, was formally diagnosed aged 5 and there were endless appointments for several years before that to nail down that diagnosis. The reason I say this is a) I used to (and still do to a degree) analyse lots of what my son does/can’t do due to his difficulties and b) he loves to draw but only recently started drawing faces on his people (aged 10) because he says he struggles to get them right. He struggles with reading emotions of other people- in real life and watching live action tv/movies. He manages with animation better, particularly anime. I noticed your son hadn’t given his gingerbread person a face. Was wondering if your son has the same/similar issue?

Good luck with the assessment/diagnosis journey, I hope you don’t have a long wait Flowers

Older-9,10 judging by the dancing men. Looks like someone who has been made to do Christmassy but just wants to do signature graffiti people so sneaked them in.

I've seen how old your son is and I would say this kind of drawing is perfectly normal for me to see in a year 6 classroom. Some will be better and some will be more crude (in both senses of the word probably!). Children spend very little time drawing nowadays and I'm always a little shocked by it, lots of chn have a natural talent and they continue to improve because they get told they're good so therefore practise, other children seem to think they're not very good because the only time they give it a go is the annual Christmas card design. If you're at all concerned buy them some supplies and get them into YouTube tutorials if they're interested! X

I’ve been through it twice. Feel free to PM me if you need to vent, or have any questions. 😁
